Unfortunately, I don't see how a hockey ring can fit in the Sun Dome so that would require a whole new arena and that ain't happening without some serious coin.
I'm not saying that we are great team, but watching the game as a whole that was the only point of the game where we looked worse than last week. Overall the D needs to relearn how to tackle, and the Oline needs to stay consistent one way or another (they looked great in the 1st qtr.) I like the adjustments that Glenn Spencer made in the 2nd half regardless if it was the 2nd team O.
Honestly, optimistic baring the coaching staff giving up on this team in the 4th. Take away the God awful second qtr, this is a 1 point game. I don't know what happened to the Oline and D in the second qtr, but they definitely looked like an improved unit in the 1st qtr and second half. If Timmy is not the starter for the remainder of the season, this coaching staff needs to be axed, because regardless of the freshman mistakes he made last week, when Timmy comes in this O has a different feel to it.
Absolutely, because if the Big 12 only take 12, there is no way they survive long term. 12 is a near sighted, knee jerk move. If they want to stay as a competitive conference long term that move to 14 or 16 because that is where it is heading.
I'd be happy if the Big 12 took C. and not us as long as the ACC is still open. That scenario keeps WVU away from the ACC, and makes USF the best available option when they bring in Notre Dame as a full member.
I know that this is mostly out of Athletics hands for the most part and decided by the AAC/ESPN, but I will never understand why other sports end up with games at the same time as Football (especially if there are games at home.) The #23 ranked Women's soccer team is hosting #22 Tennessee tonight and that game starts 30min prior to Kickoff, and the Men's team is away at FGCU at the same time. Both of those games should have been aimed to play tomorrow, especially the Women's game so there could be more in attendance against another SEC school.
Like I said, I know it's mostly out of USF's control but man is it dumb.
As mentioned in the USF vs NC State Prediction thread and on the Daily Stampede live podcast earlier, a lot of the success of this season is going to be dependent on how we our D Line performs and if we can stop the run. Looking at the post by @Gatorbull325, on paper it's hard to argue that this group will be worse than last year. I see more aggressive D play calling now that they have been in the system for a year and have a Secondary that actually has some size.
If Cade can stay healthy, along with utilizing Timmy McClain in a similar role that Florida did with Leak & Tebow, this O could be scary good. Our depth of size and speed in the skill positions, along with an experience O line, makes this team deceptively good.
I will go on record and say that if we win against NC St we win a minimum of 8 games this season. If we lose, 4 wins is more likely. @Brad $50 donation to the site if I am wrong? Who else wants to hop on this?
Forgot that they mentioned the IPF going over the turf field back in Feb. I'd be curious as this effects the overall layout of the Football Center when it's all said in done. Especially since the IPF was originally meant to go directly behind the LRS Center and the current turf field was going to be converted to the Soccer training grounds. Also, with the new locker room being completed, who gets dibs on it when the Football team moves out? Personally seems like a waste of $3M, even it is top notch.
