  1. agree, Would be nice if they stuck together,(if TV deal becomes more in line with Power 5)(need it to survive) and if we could get Fed Ex and all the other Big Corps offering money for schools to get into the Big 12 to give the money to the AAC instead while pumping up the conference, while applying pressure to the NCAA, Congress and others to level the playing field for the non power conferences. We are already on par with ACC and Big 12, in most sports, and not far behind the others.
  2. Kinda wish we were in a better situation currently than we are. We have to jump at the Big 12 If the invite comes, (be a fool not too, due to money, being in a power conference, ect...) But wish it were another Power conference that was looking to expand. The Big 12 seems disorganized, like the OLD Big East, Too many people (Texas looking out for themselves and not the conference)(like the catholic BB schools used to do, along with Pitt and Cuse). Something tells me that the Big 12 is unstable and will be for the unforeseeable future as long as Texas holds all the power. What happens if they expand, than in a few years Texas decides to bolt for another conference( which would start of the Power 4) Like some have predicted? Oklahoma will find a home, but schools like Iowa, Kansas, K state and others wont. Would that conference without Texas and Oklahoma be better than the current AAC? I think the AAC is much stronger in this scenario. With that said, of course we take the invite and the money, hoping to maintain or move to a better conference in the future. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/big-12-ended-bad-week-with-another-dumb-decision-205348463.html
  3. Wonder If Harlan can pull some magic and work to get us a sweet deal( I know we will never see one like this),however like to see us get something bigger and better than what we currently have. love all the money they are committing to UCLA. The 15-year, $280-million deal his school signed with Under Armour this week ranks as the largest shoe and apparel sponsorship in college sports history. The resulting agreement will pay UCLA $15 million in cash up front, said a person with knowledge of the negotiations who was not authorized to speak publicly. The school subsequently will receive approximately $11 million annually in rights and marketing fees. Under Armour has committed to supplying an average of $7.4 million in clothing, shoes and equipment each school year and contribute an additional $2 million over the next eight years for upgrades at facilities such as the Morgan Center and the Acosta Athletic Complex. http://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/la-sp-0525-ucla-under-armour-20160525-snap-story.html
  4. Kansas must still be Butt hurt from our Big wins over their programs. Our Fb beat them with a FG when we climbed to # 2 IN THE NATION, They came in ranked and we beat them. Our Women's BB beat them In their Bld to win the Womens WNIT. I get the article and see right thru it. Jealous and know we are more deserving of a power conference than them. Scared to play us on a regular basis. Bring it.
  5. Its not as easy as you think when you really look at the schedule. We have FSU, Navy and possibly Houston in the championship game. ( winnable but also games we could easily lose). Doesn't leave a lot of room for error after these 3 games.(cant have a bad game/ loss) Also need to factor in that if expansion hasn't happened before the season starts teams will be auditioning for their bids to the Power 5. Temple should be a good game( 1-1 all time) , Memphis will be a good game, Cincy can go either way as it has in the past, and as we know ANYTHING can happen in a rivalry game (UCF). So I think 8 or more wins is an accomplishment in ANY conference.
  6. Rough inning for the Bulls. Need to wake the bats up and get the come from behind win. Lets go Bulls
  7. Sorry your wife had to experience Cancer first hand, Glad she beat it. Keep up the fight and stay on top of it.
  8. That double play blunder could had put the game away. Hoping it doesn't come back to bite us. Lets go Bulls.
  9. of course, Federal government should worry about sports before the rights of its citizens. Note the sarcasm.
  10. One has to assume that they are working on this big time (should be their number 1 priority right now). If we find out later that they were asleep at the wheel, or content being in the AAC (Not doing everything to position us for a better payday ) than they both should be fired. (I'M NOT saying they are asleep at the wheel or not) Just saying we have to assume that they are VERY active in this situation. Until an announcement is made by the Big 12 or USF we cant really do anything but buy tickets, donate and support like we have been. If we get passed by than we can all re-evaluate our spending and support while looking into the reason / reasons we didn't get picked. If than we find out that Judy and Mark didn't do enough(which is subjective) than they should be sent packing.
  11. Nice article written by the AAC about several of its players. Reynolds and Stewart Both deserving of the award. Also nice to see our conference up for another award as well(The American is one of six finalists - and the only college sports entity - for the 2016 Sports Business Awards League of the Year honor, along with Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, NASCAR, the National Basketball Association and the PGA Tour.) http://theamerican.org/news/2016/4/10/WBB_0410163202.aspx ESPin and others should talk us up , instead they put us on the back page and ignore the accolades Time to make us a power conference.
  12. Yes it was HORRIBLE, but it shouldn't had come to that, We stunk it up in the first half. Missed too many easy shots and FT's , and got manhandled on the Rebounds
