  1. I'd like our next coach (whenever that is) to be defense minded and know how to coach/recruit in the AAC. this guy did pretty good as DC at Tulsa before he went to TCU. Luke Fickell turned out well at Cinncinati. We need to find our Luke Fickell in the next coach search cycle.

Joe Gillespie arrived at TCU in December 2021 as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Gillespie

Next week's news today: Florida only beat USF by 52.

Last year there was no answer to stop Anthony Richardson from running all day and i don't see that changing. I'll be there but i'm not looking forward to it. I think they can beat us without completing a single pass. I hope I'm wrong. I hope we are both wrong.

Gonna focus on seeing how the defense does. To me having an average defense this season is what will get USF to a bowl game.

This is how it will be all year. our offense keeping pace with our weak defense for a win. It's like 2016 all over again. At least back then we had the 3 headed monster Q-Mack-Adams...that offense was loaded w talent...we need another 3 headed monster to emerge to make 6-6

  4. If these coaches can't beat Howard we might as well build an Android that randomly calls plays and replace the humans. We just need a few Nvidia GPUs which should be getting cheaper now that our government banned them from being sold in china. We can just load the play book of a local high school coach and hope the AI is smart enough to go for it on 4th and 1 if we are down 3 scores:

NVIDIA® V100 is the world’s most advanced data center GPU ever built to accelerate AI, HPC, and Graphics.

Gerry has some really good targets to throw to.

After 1 week my only take away is wide receivers and kick returners are the strength of this team. Weaver did have 1 bad drop just outside to the end zone but i think Mangham scored anyways on that drive. I do believe Weaver breaks the single season record this year...822 yards i think it is...hard to believe Andre Davis didn't have a 1000 yard season in 2012 i think it was he had like 400 after the first 3 games...BJ breaking his leg that year is probably why we've never had 1000 yard receiver...i think this is the year of the receiver

Seems like USF recovered a little but it was too late.

As soon as our long snapper sailed the ball over the punters head into the wall on that safety that was it. The score was 14-38 at that point the game was on life support but that killed it. suddenly it's 14-47 and the team visably gave up. even that last scoring drive CJS was burning up that clock to get outta there. I stayed and watched the whole **** thing and it wasn't pretty. If that performance wasn't bottom 10 worthy I don't know what is. I hope BYU goes undefeated and wins the CFP so we can feel better about that **** show.

Totally agree. Play the games at Corbett and those who still care can watch from the berms.

We had less than 20k real people for BYU. Turnout for Howard will be terrible. I'd be fine with 5 games a year at Ray Jay and hit the road 7 times for pay days until we have money or victories. We needed the IPF for the players we don't need an OCS. Changing the venue won't fix our current problems only winning and money will.

I'm in my early 40s and barely remember them being a power house...it ended In early 2000s. Had a few good years around 2010 it looks like.

They went 30 years with not one losing season....pretty remarkable.

I remember in the 90s Tom Osborne was admired and reviled similar to Nick Saban of today or Pete Caroll at USC in the mid 2000s...Nebraska definately had their time in the sun.

You still have my cell or email?

@CousinRicky I msg'd you my new cell #. It did change last year to a 813 area code number and I have a 2nd cell phone which im using since I lost my main phone in the gulf last week during family beach week.   I'm definitely going to HOF event the only question is do I buy two tickets or is there 4 others in addition to us that would fill an 8 seat table...I'm willing to reserve a whole table if we have a group of 8 people going.

  10. I believe this team can win 6 games this year. Unless we get blown out 3 times in Sept I will believe that until it's not possible. I haven't forgotten '19 Wisky or '20 Notre Dame or '21 NC State. I was at the NC State game last year. We can't have a return to respectability if games like NC State keep happening. If we don't get blown out and shut out in September, then I will believe in this team until the math says i can't.

  11. It was good to finally meet you @Grateful Dad and good see @BDYZR again. That was an awesome day, I didnt leave until almost 8pm and there was green and gold shirts all up and down 7th ave even as we were leaving. I thought the turnout was good today and so was the Kickoff luncheon (i was at table 51) on Wednesday. I hope all those folks from these events bought their football season tickets already.

Who was the reporter that asked Gerry if he had an advantage of being the only player on the roster to have played BYU?

He probably meant only player that defeated BYU but that's a stupid question. Timmy played well enough to beat BYU last year at their place for the last 45 minutes. That is definitely a winnable game for either QB.
