Memphis AD is a bad yelp review of the Big 12.

    Eff that.

We need to worry about what we are doing. There could be and dare I say likely will be as good if not a better opportunity in a few years if we control what we can. You don't get stronger by complaining that someone else is going to the gym. You go to the gym yourself. We need to put on our big boy pants and get to work. Be proud of who we are and where we want to go. That starts with us as fans quitting whining about stuff that happened 10 years ago by no one who is even employed at USF anymore.

  2. @hm101 mentioned on another thread that good leadership makes decisions based on 3-5 year timelines. He's spot on, so it begs the question, "Why do now what should've been done in 2006".

Consider this, in 2006, Rutgers spent 100 mil on stadium expansion they correctly struck while the Big East was at the height of it's power. RU leadership was villified by national media for spending egregious money in the face of rising tuition. At least one high ranking member of RU leadership was fired for reckless spending (I remember him on 60 minutes or some national news show saying "I did what i was asked to do and got fired"). In 2011, I don't recall anyone vindicating him when RU moved to the Big10.

The reality is high paid leadership everywhere is completely reactive to preserve thier big fat salaries. For RU, being early was the same thing as being wrong for the people that got fired.

Why did UCF build a stadium when they did? a finance expert would think it was financed with junk bonds, an economics expert knows they financed it with envy. If for not our success under Leavitt they would still be playing in the Citrus bowl.

  3. Honestly the negativity that got to me this week was the "Part 3" TDS article. This went a bit too far. Why call out our alumni association President? I've known Bill for a long time and to me he works as hard as anybody in the organization to build relationships and improve the state of things. Attacking the character of folks outside of athletics is a bridge way too far in any USF sports related forum. It's not just negative, it's unfair to those who work their butts off and are as frustrated as we are at times when things aren't going well.

Jamie is mad as hell, and doesn’t want to take it anymore.

I was there to hear him say it. Was I surprised? You betcha. There was a polite golf clap from the donors there that have been bled to death already. Wouldn't hold my breath on this.

@CousinRicky was Matt Baker actually there in the audience with us? I didn't see him. I haven't seen him or Joey in person in a very long time. I figured when they mentioned the press it was some 18 year old unpaid intern who writes for the USF Onion or something.

  5. Augie is a great bull and I'm glad he still has the passion to speak his mind. He is bitter but I unstand it. It's frustrating to get fired just because of regime change. I respect a head Coach's decision to enact policy about who is on the gameday sidelines. That doesn't mean I have to like the policy because i don't. I suspect only allowing active NFL guys is a way to keep the old guard at a distance when things aren't going well. If we won 8 games last year I suspect CJS might not be as strict on that but he has a job to do and times are stressful.

  6. This is sad to hear. I have a great deal of admiration for those who become PhD candidates. That takes a special type of person. Every year before our first home game I think about all the good people that I've known through USF in the past 22 years that aren't with us anymore. That first tailgate for some reason I think about all of them.

I hate that we’re opposite of this situation, but here is what we were doing to Luke Fickel in his first year post Tuberville. Hope this makes someone feel better.

It was unsettling how easy the wins vs Tuberville came. We lost one game to him I think in 2014 that bizarre game where White and Bench and even our punter had difficulty gripping the ball...I swear Tubs greased those balls before the game...he was desperate to beat us.

    STOP IT!

Blown coverages, stupid penalties, poor play on both sides of the ball, and bad play calling is what cause the loss.

lol. I'll watch it again without my green and gold goggles. At the game I was way up there in section 9 with some of the players families. The good company was distracting. I'm glad I didn't get the front row view of that **** show I saw you and @FazaUSF down there and I was envious until the game started. At 36:40 mark right after our interception you can see me saying "it's about f****** time!", I'm behind the dancing lady.  There were a few #59 shirts so it was like a small Andrew Mims fan club up there. I appreciate you @BDYZR not letting me get to sanguine

  9. I rewatched most of the NC game last night. Poor execution on 3-4 plays in the first half changed the whole complexion of that game. The '19 Wisky and '20 ND debacles, while the result was the same looked far bleaker to me on the rewatch. This team looked far better to me than the lifeless effort in those other contests, if less lifeless is something of value.

Call me crazy but I still think we could win 3 games this year which would be just enough for me not to pay for this guy's buyout.

Getting to #2 and playing in the BE was the worse thing that happened to us.

The entitlement it created among certain powerful folks was the worst thing that happened to us. We proved an upstart can play at the highest level but some people failed to appreciate what it really took to get there. CJL had a special eye for defensive talent and fought to get kids admitted. Likewise CWT had great recruiting success. Im amazed we got M Mack and D Johnson in that 2014 class. Whatever CJL and CWT had inorder to build those great teams...CJS needs to find it...he hasn't impressed me at all but there's time yet.
