  1. I'm sick of the sadness on this board. I'll be optimistic until we look bad again. We look good for one day and people can't just enjoy it, they'd rather still complain. To say we could be real good this year off of some hypotheticals from seeing one Spring practice off of last year is making major leaps. I am not complaining, not sure if you were referring to me. I like your optimism, as I stated earlier, but I guess I am more realistic in my expectations for the coming year. I think we have a lot to look forward to as a rebuilding program in the future (hopefully near future). It's not specifically you, just the board in general. Are we bad? Sure. But offseason is where teams get better. And every indication I've seen is that the team is a lot more positive and wants to get better. That's what let's me believe. What did you see the last few years that made you believe the players wanted to get worse?
  2. Yea bc you can def say those McNeese State picks were the same as when we are down 14-21pts with 2 mins remaining and White and our offense are in desperation mode. That's a terrible comparison. Our offense was in desperation mode for 95% of the season.
  3. Presentation is everything. Or at least I thought I learned that at Mons.
  4. Weird, Charlie Strong thought he did when he offered him from Louisville.
  5. 11 TDs for the season speaks for itself. There's nothing he can say until his offense puts up numbers better than the absolute worst in college football.
  6. That could apply to just about every player on offense, defense, and the coaching staff that day.
  7. You funny funny man sometimes. Think back to November. Maybe memory short too... http://theamerican.org/sports/2013/9/27/MSOC_0927134136.aspx?path=msoc He doesn't mean soccer, he means football. Specifically, he means GOL/UCF has one and our coaches do not. /cue ***** for slick
  8. I was going to recommend Pane Rustica right next door to the Brunchery and Pinky's is just around the corner on Bay to Bay. Both are pretty solid. In Seminole Heights, Three Coins is the definition of "greasy spoon," but its cheap and good. And the cafe attached to the Independent (yes, the bar on Florida) is very good. 9. How far into Tampa are willing to drive? I can give you some recommendations in Seminole Heights and S. Tampa.
  10. Dude, Syracuse and Vanderbilt talking about leaving their respective conferences to go to a non-P5 to focus more on academics is big ..... real big. Huge. Especially since they said they'd be more than happy to do it. If only there was some sort of way for a poster to direct us to the story originally written regarding this news...
  11. He qualified for college through the NCAA Clearinghouse, Notre Dame chose to let him in.
  12. More like Stanford. But yeah. Oh, and Duke, too. Don't forget Northwestern. You guys all left out UCF They're much more of a Texas comparable, first tier athletics AND academics.
  13. More like Stanford. But yeah. Oh, and Duke, too. Don't forget Northwestern.
  14. So now you are arguing that Vandy and Syracuse are at same crossroads as Harvard and Yale when they gave up on football? I believe that was my original point. Thanks for the confirmation. And they'll be dropping out of the SEC and ACC in no time. What do you think the timeframe is? 2015 at the latest?
  15. You're trying to make it sound like Harvard was even remotely relevant in college football when they broke off. That ship sailed long before the split.
  16. Yeah, just like the Ivy League didn't. That was the 1930's... Things are different now Division I wasn't spit until 1978. And the Ivy league was formed in 1958. So wtf are you talking about? Per Wiki, the Ivy league chooses athletics over $$ from sports. So when is Syracuse and Vandy announcing they're joining the Ivy League... for the sake of academics? I heard somewhere that deal was as good as done.
  17. I think Harvard and it's $32 billion endowment will survive the loss of some TV money.
