  1. I love what is happening with our non-revenues, but we have struck out on the revenue producers. Would not be shocked if it takes 3 months and we still get a dud. Will you eat crow if we get someone that turns this around?
  2. I disagree with the expedited approach some are suggesting. Is important to do our due diligence and choose the right person, even if that means one of the candidates is off the table. We also have no direct knowledge or insight about what DW is thinking. Lots of quality names are on the board for this job. There was a lot of negativity about Mr. Holtz's payout when he left. You could have the same scenario if this person that lands this job is the wrong choice.
  3. I like Magee too. That offense style would be great for us and he has strong connections to USF and Tampa.
  4. Why do we act like this year's commits are a top recruiting class? A majority of them seemed to be commits just to make a local coach happy and build rapport.
  5. Doesn't matter until the new coach evaluates the players he wants. Unclear to everyone, including the players, where Badet, AW, and other recruits will fall until a new coahc is hired and makes these evaluations.
  6. Quinn with an OC that uses an open system like they run at WVU, Oregon, or Oklahoma State.
  7. Im not concerned, whomever we bring in will hopefully be capable of reeling in top recruits consistently. AW would be making a big mistake if he decommits because the qb situation right now is so bad.
  8. Why do we care how much the university wants to pay the hc and if that will ne a bargain? All we care about is that they bring in a winner. There was speculation that a few of the big name coaches were linked to the opening Holtz won. It's very likely the same will happen again if what's suggested on this thread actually happens.
  9. Thank you for sharing Hem. Whether true or not, i'm in support of providing information this way. Everyone here bleeds green and gold and it's good that we have boards like this to share major news and information. People here do a good job of inquirying about sources.
  10. Tomorrows game is irrelevant. The season was a disaster and one win against an average team won't change anything.
  11. He'd be a good fit for a DC job. Seems like he always had a vicious D with a weak offense.
  12. Seems like they would be better off leasing Ray Jay. Most of the other MLS teams share an NFL stadium because they're only used a few times per year.
  13. To the AW haters, give the kid a chance. He has to work for the starting job and it's good bringing highly ranked players to the school.
  14. If he stays, we should pray he turns it around. Who knows how long we will keep him with poor results or how bad this program will look by the time he leaves.
  15. Rutgers has already jumped and UConn is being talked up heavily .... For the 3,012th time, football is a very small driver in this. +1
  16. That must be why all these other schools rent out stadiums...oh..wait... Not all schools have the opportunity to lease professional sports facilities like we do. Sharing stadiums with MLS teams and colleges significantly improves utilization for a facility that would be hardly used. They are in better shape if they can hold concerts, monster trucks, and other short term events. Pitt, Miami, San Diego St, Tulane, UMass, Georgia St, Temple, Tennessee st. all operate using this model. Facilities that host NHL and NBA teams probably have the highest utilization, followed by MLB.
  17. +1 More concerned about the coaches than the recruits... not to dismiss the importance of solid recruiting, but we'll have to take the Rays' approach - do more with less. I don't think we have the analytical abilities to do what the rays do. Moneyball probably would work in college football though.
  18. We'll probably continue to snag the same level of recruits until skip leaves or turns things around. Then recruiting success will be up to the abilities of the new coach.
  19. I hope you win but an OCS will never happen. The capital outlay is enormous and football stadiums are only used six or seven times per year. Much more cost effective to lease Ray Jay.
  20. It's time to get out of Dodge and do whatever we can to get into the ACC.
