I used to grow... a LOT
But gave it up a year or 2 ago since there was/is a strong possibility of moving north.
I used to grow all sorts of stuff.
Citrus trees (oranges, lemons, limes, kumquats about 8 total?), 2-3 each pears, apples, cherry. Also blackberry and raspberry.
Got dwarf varieties of them
Had 5 avocado trees, 6 mango trees. And about 15 blueberries.
From fall to spring all sorts of veggies. Lettuce, kale, strawberries, cucumbers, broccoli, peas, squash, tomatoes, carrots, onions even tried corn, (other stuff I can't remember or tired once/twice) Pretty much a full time hobby. Takes a lot of work (especially since I did everything organically), but the harvest can be pretty rewarding.
Here is a great guide on when to plant veggies in different Florida locations:

If you search the Internet for IFAS and a crop, you should get results regarding growing that in florida.
Example: IFAS Apple.
The central Florida region is pretty much the lowest part you can plant some of the fruit trees using new Low Chill varieties... and the northern part of growing tropical fruits that will get damaged/killed by hard freezes further north (we do get freezes here, but much more manageable temp and time/occurrences in protecting the trees)
