  1. Joey Knight @TBTimes_Bulls No updates yet on status of #USF QB Stephen Bench or TB Marcus Shaw. May not have one until we speak with Coach Taggart tomorrow.
  2. I find it funny that people think there is no reason to not start White. If hes not ready, he's not ready. He's 18 years old. He's not a huge kid. Let him continue to grow and get bigger and stronger. Let him continue to learn the playbook and get used to the speed and size of people in college. There is no reason to put him out there and let him get killed. Our WR's aren't good/don't try. Our OL is awful. We aren't FSU. We don't have the O-line or the weapons to throw a freshman QB in there and succeed.
  3. It's not hard to be right when 95% of his posts are written like a 3rd grader and he just says we suck. We need to recruit a top notch qb. We are not a big time program. I'm glad he thinks it is so easy to grab a great QB
  4. You know we're currently in the 40s-50s (depending on the service) for recruiting rankings, right? Just about where we've been for the past decade. We still have no QB (like everyone gives Holtz **** for, have already had 2 separate QBs decommit). We have one RB who may or may not even make it academically. CWT's rankings the three years before coming to USF: 2012 - 75, 2011 - 90, 2010 - 89. And when you get ready to give me the line about how he was recruiting at WKU, remember he was outrecruited by Southern MIss, Wyoming, and Akron during those years. He may eventually become an incredible recruiter, but he isn't one yet. How about this line. Rankings don't mean jack. Look at USC currently . Taggart took the worst program in the country and got them to 7 wins in a 3 year span
  5. \ we stink we were so out of position i coached football my entire life it is almost unbelieveable how out of position we were WE LOOKED LOST OUT THERE Yelling at the tv while drinking and watching football does not equal coaching
  6. LEAVITT DESTROYED THIS PROGRAM(yes he also built it) holtz hurt program further coach t didnt recruit well last year Why do you post? Honestly? Why? Coach T had 2 months to recruit guys he wanted. Not exactly a whole lot of time. You're an idiot.
  7. He was never considered a number one pick. Perhaps you meant a first round pick?
  8. It is funny hearing a statement like this come from Thug U
  9. You say this is the worst secondary you've ever seen and yet we have twice as many picks as we did last year and we're only through 4 games
  10. How you haven't been hired by ESPN or Fox is beyond me...
  11. A D2 type coach? Yea he only took the worst team in college football to a bowl game in his 3rd year there
  12. Perhaps - but I wouldn't call what we gave him yesterday much of a battle. Heading out to play hoops with my 10 year old nephew now, I think he is probably going to give me about the same kind of "battle". I would definitely have expected Morris to at least review tape and think about it for a night -- it was obviously very immature for him to make those statements in heat of moment. But if true we need to come down hard, that is not what USF is and not what it should ever be. Miami should not be our model. As an aside I am incredibly dissapointed in our new Times coverage. It is a pay per click model now and there is virtual no post game coverage on the blog - no Taggart tape, no comments, no reference to these statements or response... There are 1k twitter updates on there. There's a story about the comments. Morris said the comments after WIllie's post game pressor. http://www.tampabay.com/sports/college/miami-qb-morris-calls-usf-dirty-team/2144454 http://www.tampabay.com/sports/colleges/bulls/ No Taggart video, but look beyond the blog. There's plenty of stuff on that page
  13. It was but you also have to take into account the fact that our offense sustained nothing. MSU had 11 more minutes of possession than we did. The defense had to get disheartened/gassed quick
  14. We also gave up 44 to McNeese State. The offense gave up more than half of those
  15. Incognito/Private browsing in Chrome and Firefox. That is all...
  16. Juco players are great band aids for teams that need help immediately in one or two areas. We need so much help that it may not be worth it. Until the offensive line is upgraded it won't matter who is back there
  17. there are tons of examples of coaches playing true freshman for them to gain experience. #1 passing offense in country is run by a true freshman. tim tebow threw 33 passes his true freshman year to gain experience. Miami's last 2 QBs were true freshman starters. Penn State has had 2 in the last 5 years,. Rutgers 3. BC 2. Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas, Ohio State and Michigan have all had a true freshman starter within last 5 years. not sure why people think playing 4th string scout QB is helpful in the least. good coaches play true freshman in positions of need all the time. it's wise to plan for the future. red shirting should be for depth or for injury only. our last 2 QBs did not play their entire 4 years of eligibility because they used their red shirts for non injury purposes. Ok here is the difference between all of those teams and us. Are you ready for it? Their QB's are really highly ranked/recruited. They have a real offensive line. They have actual depth. Johnny Manziel redshirted his freshman year. It didn't hold him back. Tim Tebow was an awful qb regardless of his experience. He won based off of running and his size. Florida is stacked at WR, RB, and O-Line. FSU's qb was insanely high ranked. They have a really good offense around Winston. Ok St, Ohio St, Michigan, Texas they all pull in a dearth of 4 and 5 star recruits. I know stars don't mean everything but the bigger better schools get better players as a whole. We are simply not in that position. There is no reason to burn a year on White with such an incompetent offense. Playing at this level is hard enough even for some of the higher ranked recruits. The more time he gets to spend with the playbook the better. If Coach T brings in some real O-line help next year then we can see if White is ready. There is no reason to throw a freshman into the fire with the disaster that is our offense right now. It won't help him. If this was the old USF back when we beat teams like McNeese and FAU then sure I would say keep him around and let him play in the 2nd half of those games. But really letting him get shelled game after game will not be good for his development. Those teams have the luxury of playing freshman because they know they will continue to pull in talent year after year. Some teams do it because what they have is no good and they think they can do better. See Florida since Tebow left. How much better do you really think White is vs. Bench? I'd at least give Bench a chance to show what he's got rather than just throwing him to the side.
  18. Why waste a year on White when he may get killed by the inept offensive line? That makes no sense. If White is good enough to beat out Bench then he will do it. Just because Bench finishes out the year doesn't mean he is our guy. It just means hes the guy this year and hes the most ready. If White is the man I would rather save him for the next 4 years with a more competent offense. So yes a red shirt would help tremendously.
  19. While I disagree with Slick a lot of the time, I don't see the harm here. The coaches certainly don't know about ever player in America. Even if it gets a kid on his radar and nothing comes of it so what? Maybe they'll look into this kid and something will spark his interest. Obviously CWT isn't looking to fans for his complete 25 man recruiting roster but stranger things have happened.
  20. You do realize that was the first time Bench has actually played any significant time right? As in more than 3 snaps?
  21. If our defense was as good as our BB teams from a few years ago we would have a win by now
  22. Our WR's can't catch the ball. Our QB's don't have enough time to throw it. I would have rolled Bench to the outside at least once. Let him run it in or pass on the move
  23. Really? He took an awful WKU team that went 0-12 in his first season and took them to 2 straight bowls. Skip Holtz took a team that was consistently winning 7 and 8 games a year and made us one of the worst in the country. Give Taggart some time. You guys are a bit over the top
