    Yep. Gave up two 3rd and longs. Then the fake by King for a long TD. Typical defensive start.

    Although we should win both, guessing we split the Cincy/Temple road trip, meaning the Houston game may be our season as far as winning the division.....unless UCF falls one game too.

    Maybe Houston gets ranked after next week and we gave our first AAC top 25 showdown on Houston.

    The CFP committee is going to have UCF at around 12-15. There will be many one loss teams ahead of them, and I bet two loss teams will jump them after they have a win against a t25 team. Just the way it is.

    I do hope he leaves. Or at least his staff. I’m sick of this team looking unprepared week in and week out, the penalties, play calling, etc. We just barely beat the 2nd worst team in the conference. Of course, we looked so much better than ECU too.

    That’s my hope. A team in disarray that needs stability, like the personality CCS has.

    I agree. This style play is horrible. We get by on our FL talent against weak teams. CCS is the problem.

    Well if he sticks around and is really into us I’d respect him for it. I just don’t see it happening. He’s going to have a great resume after 2 seasons here and some P5 program will offer him $$$. Plus he’s known as a stable guy and some unstable program (UNC?) will want that personality.

    Every single game (minus Elon) since our close win vs Tulsa in senior night last year has been a nail biter. Think about it....UCF, TTU, GT, UI, ECU, UMass (most of game was close) and now tonight. I think that Tulsa game from last year has been a carryover to this one.

    He’s had a bunch of bad drops early this year but he balled out tonight. Kudos to him.

    Our conference is and always will be a stepping stone. Plus they will always have more $$ to offer any coach from any G5. Have you ever seen a coach in our conference, after multiple winning seasons, stick around for a long time?

    Possibly. But also if we win 9-10 games again, a mid tier P5 who’s desperate (think many ACC teams may have openings) may take the bait.

    Nothing is going to magically improve. It’s who we are. After UConn things may go downhill.

    I hate it, you hate it, but this is who we are this year. Sloppy, poor execution, penalties, TERRIBLE PLAYCALLING, but then the button clicks in the 4Q and we win. This is a heart attack bunch for sure. Even at 6-0, I’m not happy. Feels worse than last year actually.

    Gilbert will be gone after CCS is nabbed up by a P5 program this winter.

    Yeah, pointless to talk about UCF in the CFP. G5, soft schedule (Memphis looks bad this year) and no T25 wins (unless they beat a ranked USF or Cincy)......would take all top P5 teams to have three losses or more for committee to even think about UCF.....
