other teams with far less talented have been coached and put themselves in positions to get the most out of their players. They can hide their flaws by getting the most out of what they are good at. This is what I will be expecting. The most attention to detail staff that usf has had in their small history. A better understanding of x's and o's. This might be a transition year as it is a complete change in philospohy but I expect to see progress must like penn st..and maybe in year 2 we have a better feeling. We have enough talent and athletes to get 6 wins no matter what you guys may think. A good coach can do it.

well we might not be exactly 100 but were not in a position to argue that after a 5-7 season followed by 3-9 season. If you think about it atleast we know the expectations will literally be **** from now on outside of the board and fan base. We have no buzz, we have no respect and it truly is CWT program to bring to light much like CJL did. He can truly make his own story for the bulls. I hope its one that ends in a ten win season sooner than later.

go back and look at scout for matt floyd. He was a 2 star recruit who was offered by all but one crappy schools. UL offered. He only threw for 14 td's his senior year and 1,700 yards. That doesnt seem like someone who should bank on being a good qb. Eveld was better. White is better but even he had many games where they took him out because they were winning. His stats suffered from that. I think white will be better than Floyd but is not an elite quaterback. We will struggle next year with any of these three options. Florida has far superior athletes and players and they were ranked 100th in the country switching to a running offense. What do you think is going to happen to us? We need an eltie qb.

i agree we need just on elite qb to say im going to usf. That is pretty much all it will take. Will AW be the guy I dont know. I hope so.

guy is clearly not a good coach and has had off the field problems as well as said per another thread. This is a bad idea. We do not need nepitism.

well with all due respect he is a former nfl defense coordinator. He was not retained. So he was unfit to do the job at hand. In my eyes thats a failure. He either took a year off or could not get another job in 2012...someone fill that in. This is about the same as hiring someone with no defensive coordinator experience. Its a gamble either way so who am I too complain. He sucked at what he did. We suck at what were doing. It fits. Were just hoping he does a good job. Were hoping there is some kind of toughness. The glaring positive is you cannot coach NFL defense without being somewhat TOUGH. Im hoping that this helps.

The coaching change did not sit well for him? He did not like Taggart? Or the fact we sucked and had to change coaches? That is a real question. If he had interest..Im sure CWT will meet with him.

Who are all these people assuming Eveld is our guy next year? We are screwed if either one of our back ups end up our starting qb next year. It is a pointless move to make. They are not elite qb's with no room to grow as players. They are not mobile and for the future of the program do not help us. We land the top dual threat qb in the country and you better believe he would start as a freshman. We are SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better off struggling with a freshman qb to reap the benefits of learning the system and getting his mistakes out of the way when we virtually have no pressure. We won three games last year. We can win 6 if we improve on defense with a horrible offense again this year. Please lets stop talking about Eveld or Flloyd doing any kind of starting.

errrr..This kid needs to committ. He made it seem like he wanted to be here so badly. We need that type of desire to come play. I hoping this is just something he already had planned. RD5 we need ya buddy! You pictured yourself as a bull and thats the kid we want. After watching his videos as well. If you think this kid cant run between the tackles your wrong. He is shifty and knows how to spin from first contact. He is not easy to take down. He will bulk up and still be faster than everyone. He will be a huge threat in the pass game as well.

I just watched the Elite 11 full episode from start to finish. I watched his video during season. I feel like I have a little better idea of the kind of player he is now. The kid is huge. That is something that stands out right away. He is smooth with his feet but not as calm as Akeem in the pocket. Im guessing he has been working on his progressions because his check downs needed work..but like the coaches said he has a huge upside. If he was going to a bigger school he would probably sit. If its Kentucky or USF he probably starts. I hope he chooses USF because in this day and age. If you watch wku's offense you realize the qb still needs to be mobile. When you play action and roll out which they do often the three qb's on our roster now do not really fit that mold. We need a Passing qb who is mobile. I think he brings that package to the table and I'm willing to struggle with a first year qb to let him become the star he could become.

You think you need some kind of magical ties to Florida to get kids to come here. 1. We do not have tradition to sell kids. 2. We do not have a championship. 3. Before this year we did not really have an identity besides on Defense. 4. We are no longer looked at as the program on the rise. So This hire does not have to be about recruiting even though it will turn out to be a plus in that department. This decision is about bringing a WINNING mentality and a successful person who comes from the same coaching background. Its obvious CWT wants alll his coaches to be on the same page. I for one love the idea of this guy coming and think coming from Stanford can only be a positive to tell kids parents when he goes into a kids home.

He should have had many more options... Wally Burnham...came to usf when they were nothing...I dont get your comparison..It was a demotion for him..and he did well for himself. We are giving him a promotion from Akron to USF. That doesnt make sense. We should be giving someone a promotion.

I never said every coach has to be hip..I just said why are we going for someone who is clearly old and regressing in his coaching. If he was any good he wouldnt have gone to akron. Those are the facts. You do not leave FSU for Akron. It wasnt a move by choice and Akron probably said hey he used to be worth something. I dont care what he did 10 years ago and because he had the best defensive player in the world. Did he bring that kid in????? If not then he got lucky to have them. He is a has been coach..and to me does not bring you any connection to kids anymore. Clint did bring in all those kids to UL..nice try though...Im not saying age has everything to do with it. There are plenty of hip old guys. He is not on the radar. He is outdated. If we brought in someone from a current top defense it would make sense for recruits. Im not saying he will be an instant fix and a quality DC. It might help get the kids in here to make that job easier to begin with.

I agree with a clean house. This guy knows what he is doing and doesnt need old influence. I'll take amato just because just about anyone with a pulse is going to be more instructive and produce a better defense than cosh.

Lets look at it for what it is..This is not a very appealing job and this is the best we can get.
