Oh No, Todd Orlando has to go
slowdown replied to Bullrush33's topic in USF South Florida Bulls Athletics
Lol was the defense gassed after the INT on the second possession when UAB drove that 90 yard short field? They should not have been too tired since UAB only had to run two plays the first possession. The fumble was terrible. everything else yesterday was after we were down 21+ and across the 50, except the last garbage time 4th down we converted. Field position was irrelevant and will be irrelevant for many more games this year as this is a basketball score conference and era. The defense absolutely earned any criticism they get yesterday. -
Anyone very scared for UAB?

TBF we'd all be doomed if hard social media takes mattered. -

We can lose to pretty much anyone. I don't know about scared but very few teams play well every week and we aren't so good that we can count on winning without playing well. Goach has done a good job with the next play mentality. The guys are moving on from bad plays. But that goes both ways, they can't get caught up in successes either and that is its own challenge especially for a team that hasn't had much success in previous years. -
Hype Train Pulse: Your Take?

"The right way" -
I think if two reliable WRs emerge we will see some of the other guys able to excel in complimentary roles. Looking at you Joiner.

Daniels and McCaffery are two very good players. We are gonna see a few more good passings offenses. I think FAMU illustrated it's a true vulnerability. Just gotta get better and we will probably live by the big play on defense in our biggest games. Turnovers and TFL's to get them off schedule and get off the field on third down. They are just playing so much harder and smarter than the last few years despite some misses

Maybe in legend but here is my interpretation: QF "Coach, please let us play" CWT "well I'm probably getting fired anyway might as well try something different" BB "Coach, I'm ready" CAG "F*** yeah baby let's go do it!!! Sounds like a great 4th and 11 play call from our own 20 yard line" Coach T made that move after three recruiting classes, ~27 games, multiple OCs, some alleged pressure from the AD, and seemingly a few weeks away from losing the program if things didn't change. In hindsight I appreciate Coach Taggart even more. he didn't inherit a talent like B. Brown and it's a different era with transfers so all that matters (he could've really killed it here quick in this transfer era). but Golesh isn't waiting for the players to beg. we are seeing really positive signs of positive change somewhere on the team every week and we are still in the initial phase of figuring out what and who translates from practice to the game.

I agree its something we need to manage but also Grothe and Daniels played I think 89 games between them before their careers ended, and Flowers ran around for 43 games without a career ending game. They are who they are as players. We had coaches at time try to limit their running and they just weren't as good.

GoUSFBulls.com Johnston's Keys To The Game: Bulls vs. Owls

Agree with coach completely that this offense can take off with better WR play. There have been so many instances where a WR could make a play and didn't, and/or didn't battle for a ball that gets intercepted. And I get they weren't perfect throws. The difference between 50% and 60% completion rate is a huge impact in a game but is only ~3 completions in a game. If a WR drops a catchable ball, the chance of picking up a first down that series are gonna tank. That's before you even start the discussion about getting the QB in a rhythm. Really hope we see some improvement there soon. -
I have no issues going for it. I think it's about setting a tone I inside the program that we are going to be aggressive and not just accept losing. 2/5 on offensive 4th down attempts is disappointing but for what we were up against 3/5 is probably best case. Severely outmanned and it isn't like Alabama's defensive coaches get out coached more than once every couple years. With where we were last December I can live with anything besides giving up a defensive score. The real question is do we improve and adjust. And I think the attitude right now is they're not going to just do nothing.

Bama game almost sold out

With the NIL and prominence of transfers, the game is so different I don't even know if I wanna stick around. Can't imagine if I was a 70+ yr old I'd be interesting in adapting.
