We have reservations at a local B&B for three couples and tickets through a friend of friend of a friend in Madison (I know, I know). Either a formal or informal USF get together Friday somewhere in Madison would be attractive to us.

There isn't enough info on what really happened to even know if there is anyone to be disappointed in. Its a bunch of speculation, who did what and when. I think what happened it the search firm said he was looking good so far and to speed up the process, because time is a factor, sent him to USF to interview and he was told pending the rest of the vetting, he was hired. He told his students, it got leaked via social media and then Kentucky gets back with its findings. And anyone that requested transcripts knows they are sent by mail, sealed, from the school. I don't think finding he didn't have a degree was simple as a phone call, especially given the circumstances about the confutation on why he doesn't have a degree. No, no. Whether X has a degree and the years of attendance (if any) can be verified with one simple phone call to the Registrar's office. Those are not protected info. Clearly, that call wasn't made anywhere near early enough.

One or two down seasons does not destroy that description. How many? We fell a very long ways. Stopping the falling momentum, then restoring upward development is going to be very tough.

There aren't too many of us wearing the Green Bulls gear, so it sucks to get the snub. I will say, it's mainly the older guys who snub. At the UConn game, young Bulls were searching out fellow Bulls & giving high fives. But if I'm travelling, and see someone wearing the gear, it's hit or miss. And, side note, when I do fly, I try to wear a USF shirt, if nothing else, to help with awareness (drop in the ocean, I know, but it's a start). I do the same, always travel with some green and gold on...and I travel for work a lot. I'm surprised will all the other USF stuff I see in airports. I'll throw up the horns and I usually get a go Bulls or get a smile. Me, too. When I'm out of town, I often have someone say something to me about USF when I have gear on.

Well said!!! I have always thought USF would get some bad karma after the Leavitt firing. Hopefully, USF has paid enough and will turn it around soon. I still think USF needs to reach out to Leavitt somehow and make things right. Not allowing him to visit USF program is not sitting well with me. Yeap, we're going to have some bad karma indeed--like the Bucs with Doug Williams. Likely to take a good long while to work that out. And yes, I agree that the influential donors and BOT, along with the President and the AD are responsible for the mess we're in now with FB, etc.

We do have some of that, and not just in the athletic program.

The last part is absolutely correct. Too many parttime students taking too long to graduate for us to have an AAU profile--that's one problem. The other big one is the student-faculty ratio. Although not as bad as UCF's, it isn't within the range for AAU membership to be feasible, and to correct that is going to take money we don't have at the moment. On the other hand, it isn't part of strategic plan of every university to aspire toward AAU membership. And perhaps not even every Carnegie very high research university.

We are not anything like "on the verge" of being admitted to the AAU. It may happen, some day, but that day is undoubtedly more than a decade away and will require funding that right now USF just doesn't have.

None of us know exactly, but it is her job to look out for the university, to anticipate problems, to take steps in advance of them. A lot of realignment went on and we were left out. That does go to her.

With regard to FB, the President did well initially. She's a strong cheerleader, though too often it's about getting her name and face in the press. The decision to fire CJL goes to her (along with the AD), and the horrible current mess with our conference is hers as well. These are very bad marks and USF has been hurt badly the last few years. BTW, "research" as measured by $$ has improved, as has scholarship more generally, but academics generally are not up nearly as much.

Do you really trust this team to get two yards on fourth down? They couldn't even get the snap off. Just like last week with the O-lineman running the ball. Stupid play. Turnovers are great, but a lights out defense also stops the other team's offense. They just marched to a TD, mostly on plays of 12 yards per play (plus a very stupid 15-yard penalty).

Why would they mention that this early in the game. Now if USF is leading late in the 4thQ then you might here that. Right now this is all about the UCF, the BCS and rightfully so Just mentioned the 4-0 record.
