  1. If you are planning to educate someone, you should probably acquire knowledge first.
  2. Work his way into it? LOL If Ponton sat on his sofa and ate Ho-Hos all summer, he'd be a better running back on his first play back than Williams ever will be.
  3. Six game suspension is a more severe penalty than he would get anywhere else, including the NFL. He's more than paid for his transgressons. Either kick him off the team or let him play. If he plays, he has to start, he's light years ahead of Williams. To not start him continues to punish the rest of the team.
  4. Not sure what your point is, ET. But Rhode Island averaged 4 yards a carry against UConn.
  5. Um, ET. Williams already has six more starts than he deserved to have his whole college career. Now I understand why smazza gets ornery.
  6. You only had one smazza? Is a smazza stronger than vodka?
  7. The guy barely gets 100 yards against one of the worst run defenses in the country, and you want him to start over Ponton? Did anyone happen to watch the first five games? I'll be happy if Williams can be a not terrible second string RB over the second half of the season. He can catch passes and block. Maybe he can safely give Ricky a breather once in a while.
  8. Thanks, Shoop, for guaranteeing that we lose or have to win it in the final minute. Sheesh. :-/
  9. Although, if you just put your mouse over the top, you can see the link without actually pressing it.
  10. Too late. I already pressed it. : I just had to find out what it was...pretty funny. ;D
  11. Maybe they were faster and stronger than us, and only good coaching gave us a chance to win. Nah, that can't be it.
  12. Darn, for a while there I thought I was the most knowledeable member of this board...
  13. the best one we can get And you do not think we are doing that : Of course not. We had Ponton and Plancher, so the coaching staff decided to recruit lousy running backs the rest of the way, figuring they make better scout team RBs. We have a boatload of freshman RBs that aren't playing yet because they don't know the blocking assignments. In our offense, the RB better be able to block or the QB gets killed. In time, I expect that Dorsey and Samuels will turn out to be fine RBs. It takes time to build depth. Miami didn't win the national championship in their first year.
  14. In the spread offense, blocking from the RB is huge. If we routinely had a FB or TE to do the blocking, it wouldn't be such a big deal. In our offense, the RB is the only guy that can help the O-Line on a pass if there is a blitz. If Dorsey can't block, he could get Grothe killed back there.
  15. that's because you're a moron I can't wait for smazza to respond...
  16. Yeah, but you gotta admit the pink feathers are scary. :
  17. Say what? USF's opponents are 4-9 Rutgers opps are also 4-9, oddly enough Lousy, but a far cry from 1-17
  18. I know this is off topic and expect it moved, but I thought this was big news for Tampa area fans. According to ESPN News and several websites, Chris Simms had his spleen removed after today's game, and lost a lot of blood. He is currently in critical, but stable condition at St. Joseph's hospital.

  21. Congratulations, Ari. Master of the obvious! That doesn't mean the run-blocking is good (though I think it is). No, the QB play has improved 10 fold from last year. He wasn't that bad last year, and isn't that great this year. Finally, we agree. Not Top 25, but we'll win a fair number of games.
  22. I saw the instant replay and his knee was certainly down. We also got ripped on a couple of pass interference calls. Oh, and the "pick" (offensive pass interface) that wasn't nearly as bad as other picks on both sides and wiped out a huge gain in the 4th Qtr.
  23. I guess UCFers don't understand that football and basketball are different sports, with a different number of games.
