Sub 3.0 era against some of the worst teams and easiest schedules in the country means nothing.

40 rounds it's not the NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLS that have much shorter drafts. Is it an honor? Of course it is. Is it based on the playing ability of the kid at that given time? Not so much. So to use it to compare to collegiate teams is pointless. The MLB amatuer draft is much like NSD, can't miss kids may suck, 1 star kids may shine. True but college kids are more refined as players(supposed to be with proper coaching at least), so it is a little bit on an indicator as to a college teams talent level. Hence Stony Brook's 7 draftees.

It shows raw talent level based on scouts perception..... We do not have much of it by the way. Pretty big honor to be drafted if you think about how many people play baseball. If you do not see that your crazy. Not a guarantee by any means you are going to make it to the big leagues. Some people do not even get drafted and make it to the Bigs. Obviously it is not an exact science. Unless your a complete stud IE Lance McCullers JR (he will be in the big leagues unless he gets hurt)....you have to catch some breaks to make it. Stoney Brook would mop the floor with our team, which is sad if you think about it..........

Some of these comments are comical. I guess most did not play sports. Good try, its ok champ, get them next year or next year or next year blah blah blah. Last time I checked these guys are getting paid with an education to perform. A little criticism never killed anybody. We should be dominating the Big East in baseball. This is not Hockey. We played one of the easiest schedules in the country is the only reason we had a winning record. We better start getting some better players(hitters) in here in a hurry or we are going to continue to be mediocre (at best). With our new facilities this is unacceptable IMO. Eddie Cardieri was fired for the same reason and had facilities that were worse than some high schools. Hope they have something up their sleeves because next year does not look to be to promising (losing our best pitchers). It is time to step it up or step it out.

Come on Big Hairy.....Savannah St, Eastern Illinois, Lafayatte, FAMU, Jacksonville (this year) and Yale are awesome !!!! We need to win out and do well in the tourney to have "a shot" at a much needed regional appearance. Where or where has Positive Pauly gone ?!?!?!?!?!?!?
