  1. Good call, Fanatic, I think in alot of this has overlooked Cincinnasti. In addition to being 2 and 1 with them over our 3 games, one of those games was our inaugural meeting and a hard fought overtime victory for a USf homecoming win. Not only did we conference-hop together, but they were a thorn in our sides before we met, with their win the year before leaving us sitting home as an independent during bowl season. And to those who looked at 'nasti's last year and thinks they're beneath us, look at our very close records (our 17-17 to their 16-19) over the past 3, each with one bowl to our name, getting in with 6-5 records (their 6th win in 2004 was the same game that put them into bowl eligibility while dashing almost all of our hopes). Sounds like rivalry fodder to me.
  2. I certainly wouldn't say different conferences means something's not a rivalry. If that were the case, there would be no FSU/UF, or FSU/Miami before UM left the Big East, or Louisville/Kentucky. puc--I see the point you're making with the BCS run-down, but you really think a football rivalry with Duke would be better than, well, anything?
  3. Good stuff... that game airs tonight on Fox Sports South here. I'll have to watch/listen for 'em.
  4. Regarding good or bad idea, it depends on for whom. For Tampa tourism, it makes some sense... find some passionate football fans, drops the bug in their ear to spend a cool to cold fall weekend in Sunny Tampa, and watch the bucks roll in. As for us at USF, I'd say it's fairly neutral, but definitely not a bad thing. It puts more paying patrons in seats. Who knows, enough work at this, Ray Jay could be among the best places to tailgate--or most hostile environments, both of which I can get behind. It'll just mean we as USF fans will have to step our game up. And as far as I'm concerned--just bring it. ;D
  5. Travel safely! And with that picture, I could get used to those phone booths REAL quick! 8)
  6. From an event standpoint, it seems like pretty poor planning to put it over Easter weekend...
  7. SC--if there's a Carolinas chapter, count me in, though I can't promise how often I can make the trip to Charlotte or any other fairly neutral location.
  8. I have yet to find a viable message board for UMBC athletics, but if I did, I certainly would--I definitely big-upped the Dogs' dynasty here once.
  9. I disagree with those who say pick a side. Pick yourself a side if and when the two play each other, and until then, love 'em both. Eats It, if I had that attitude--and I did for maybe my first semester or so at USF--I wouldn't be a proud Bull now. I represent BOTH of my alma maters to the fullest, though if by chance the two should meet (they did in women's hoops earlier this year) I'm a DOG, first, foremost, and always. That being said, I work in higher ed, and will probably hit several other universities in my lifetime, but my first alma mater is the only one I intend to ever be above my 2nd alma mater.
  10. Andre's on the roster for the Hula Bowl on the website. I wasn't paying enough attention while watching the game to see if he was actually present or not.
  11. Already a member here! And I don't know any bulls in Delaware, but should I ever find myself with a permanent address in Wilmington again, I'm in. Right now, it's Greensboro, NC.
  12. Brandon--does the Philly/S. Jersey chapter include Delaware bulls as well? Don't live there right now, but I grew up there and would hate to see the first state get neglected.
  13. I ran into a fellow bull this past weekend in Atlanta. Twas a great feeling.
  14. As much as I'd love ot see Andre in green again, I almost don't wanna see him go there with Andy Reid's current scheme because he won't get used.
  15. bullman--there is a Marshall Center renovation in the works, and last I heard they were leaning strongly towards something sports bar/pubbish being in it. That being said, this was last school year, so I don't know the latest on that progress.
  16. I'm gonna ditto the send out the BullDozer. Add to the ranks of the Sooner Schooner and the Ramblin' Wreck!
  17. If we learned anything from this year's postseason--particularly BCS--it's that a kicker worth his salt is a necessity. Hold on to him!
  18. I say UNC would be a good road game--partially because I'll be there anyway living in NC, but I think it would make some waves if the state of NC were to think "****, those bulls roll deep!" after we showed up for the bowl game... Plus, Nc State is pissing distance away >: )
  19. USFSam-- http://usfweb2.usf.edu/History/rocky.html
  20. ^ Wow, that was practically an alley-oop (afraid I invited basketball team commentary)
  21. Well put Collin. And, The H is actually for Howard, after His dad. "Our father, who art in heaven, Howard be thy name" ;D
  22. I was having the same dilemma when I was at the bowl game... cuz I was cursing up a blue streak at the team and finding myself having to curb it when fans with kids came by. I'd say it's all good, but be aware of who's around. If you're in the heart of the student section or a group of dedicated adult fans, let 'er rip.
  23. It amuses me that media notes don't want us to be referred to as South Florida, given it's the crux of our fight song. ???
  24. That kinda amazes me to be honest... I mean, Saturday morning at 11 with 2 6-5 teams... I mighta still been in bed if it weren't us... but hell, GO BULLS! Appropriate ranking too. :-)
