  1. To clarify the geography, Raleigh is in Wake County, NC. Wake Forest University actually started in the town of Wake Forest which is located just northeast of Raleigh. The university moved to Winston Salem many years ago. I lived in Raleigh for 3 years (79-82), after graduating from USF, it was my fist office on this job. More years ago than I care to admit to any more.
  2. UConn, UConn, UConn And if ANYONE calls a double reverse on the 1 yard line tonight, I demand they be shot out of EVERY !@#$%^&%$# cannon on the pirate ship. Then we get nasty!!!!!!!!
  3. 1. Favorite Football Movie ? - Brian's Song (dare you to watch without a tear in your eye) 2. Ae you saving now for your first/next AWAY Football game in 2007? - No, that's why God created credit cards. 3. Most memorable play from Sept. 6, 1997 ? - The kickoff - it meant we finally had a team 4. Will Ponton be our leading rusher in 2006? - Grothe (or Leavitt throwing fits) 5. Do you speak a foreign 2nd language ? - Does profanity count???????
  4. Being in Tampa for meetings next week, I was finally able to see a game this year (cable TV issues in VA). First question, in a school the size of USF, is there NO ONE who can punt a freaking football???? The grounding penalty hurt, the bad snap at our 20 hurt, but the horrific punts hurt worse. When you give them the ball inside the 50, can you expect to not be scored on? The turnovers were killer, but I'd blame the first INT on Rutgers pass rush, it appeared that Grothe was drilled as he threw it. Much like a tip, can't give him 100% of the blame on that one. It would be nice to have some running game other than a QB draw or scramble. With all that, I'm encouraged, we held our own with Rutgers. Maybe it's glass half-full thinking, but assuming we can find a running back and some kickers, we may have something brewing.
  5. 1 - Rutgers (hate typing that!) 2 - 21-17 3 - 295 4 - T. Johnson If ever there was a prediction I hope I miss...
  6. Since I haven't lived in the bay area since I graduated in 79, every game is a road game for me. However: 98 - Ga Southern - L 02 - ECU - W 03 - ECU - W 05 - Miami - L 05 - Bowl - NCSU - L 06 - UNC - ??? Better Home Record: 97 - Ky Wesleyan - W 98 - Valparaiso - W 02 - Bowling Green - W 05 - Louisville - W 06 - Rutgers - ???
  7. Guys I'll be right in front of you, row Q, 24 & 25. My son (USF class of 2015 I hope) and I are doing the road trip from VA. I think he's even still got his foam bull hand from the bowl game.
  8. Grateful, will see you on the 29th since I have to come down to FLA for a meeting that week. Also, already have the road trip plotted for UNC. As far as I'm concerned we can keep singing those ACC games. Go Bulls!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I'm 817 miles from RayJay, but I too have my green on!
  10. Stats on NFL.Com, 5 carries for 32 yards. But again it was the last 5 carries of the game when the Bears were killing the clock. Did hit for a 14 and 10 yard run according to the play-by-play.
  11. How about a 1979 degree and a wish to have a football and basketball program to brag on. Getting there folks, we're getting there.
  12. USA Today story about the guy who owns the fireronzook.com and fireurbanmeyer.com names. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/2006-08-30-anti-coach-websites_x.htm I looked at the list of names he owns, FireJimLevitt.com is available for only $50 in case anyone wants to get smazza a Christmas gift.
  13. To paraphrase... We'll take the Gators and the Hurricanes and the Seminoles, but not the Irish!
  14. Thanks for the gifts, but I've seen more storms in the 7 years I've lived here, than the 13 or so I lived in Florida. Send them to Texas.
  15. In case any of you other long lost fans are XM subscribers, the McNeese game is slated to be available on XM channel 200 Saturday night. XM carries "selected" Big East games, they've only posted scheduled through 9/16, McNeese is the only game scheduled thus far. In case your cable doesn't pick up the pay-per-view.
  16. Did you have to send that @#$%^@ storm up here (SE Virginia) to screw up my weekend? After I scored the company's 5th row tickets to the Tides (AAA baseball). We needed the rain as my grass was taking on the color and consistency of corn flakes, but a TS/Hurricane? Please keep those things down there.
  17. DeJuan Green was put on IR by the Raiders. He's done for the year. No reason was given on NFL.COM.
  18. The most important one is 9/29 on ESPN2 vs. Rutgers. We're the only game that night. Need the full paint job for that one. The Bucs are off that week so moneybags can't complain about messing up his image.
  19. Both the sack and int came after the concussion, although I don't think it was ever officially called a concussion. And the sack forced a fumble. Forcing 2 turnovers, even against the backups, is the way to stay employed. And between that hit last night and the one in the Hall of Fame game, JR has been in on the two best hits of the year. Cool.
