  1. +1 Not to be like Joe, because I appreciate most USF fans (especially the green and gold goggled ones); but, had USF been swapped with Cincy many here wouldn't be too upset (including myself). I would love to be in a conference with Cincy and UofL still going forward, but right now it is every man for himself. While I feel awful for our fans (if true), taking the fan aspect out of it, USF hasn't done anything to prove they deserve it over any of those teams. There is plenty of potential with USF; but, as a realistic fan USF doesn't add tremendous value with both FSU and UM in ACC.
  2. Still no point in passing along that message. Can't be a true USF fan that sent that to him. Also, why are any of our "fans" even talking to him on twitter? I'm in my twenties and even that seems weird to me.
  3. 98.7 just reported that Landi would be back up for Cinci game.
  4. Making progress. Doubled our score from last year in their house no less!
  5. Not to fear, giants are taking a page out of the USF play book on how to protect a 20+ lead. Edit: giants pick Romo for the 10th time tonight to seemingly ice the game
  6. Pick six!! Showing our d how to do it
  7. #8, Lyn I believe, had a big cheering section tonight in the away section with giant posters. I noticed it right after his pass interference. I bet he is either a Florida kid getting one over on us, or was just trying to show off to his family (god knows he didn't do **** all game). Not to be one of those guys, but Im kinda glad he did that and hope it affects our team. Maybe they can see what it is like to always walk out of our stadium as a loser while every other fan base gets to get gloat out of control at the fans expense.
  8. There were some bags in 124 today. A guy had one with a sad face on one side and what looked like a smiley face on the other. One guy with a bag ended up doing a showdown with the orange man, where he was flipping his bag around his head and the orange man would do the same, pretty funny.
  9. Can't remember the last return for a TD. Was it Mike Jenkins against Cinci? I swear Lamar has atleast 1 I think your right. Didn't he have a crazy one against Louisville 2 years ago?
  10. No! Care to enlighten me, or are we playing the guessing game?
  11. Almost always nooners. Was the last night homecoming game army in 2004?
  12. Never thought I would consider this This could be our new tradition. I lol'ed Paint them pink then maybe we will really have something!
  13. He made my weekend; and I'm a huge Bucs fan (since '88) and Jackson is my starting WR on FF. proud of him and Nicholas for playing their asses off again!
  14. That's a matter of opinion. It seems the Leavitt haters choose not to credit him with accomplising what he did - which was much more than we have seen in last three seasons. At the very least, for that crowd that gives all the credit to Burnham for our first 12 or so years, let's at least give Leavitt credit for hiring him. Who has Holtz hired that you would heap the same praise on? Well said, Brad. There also seems to be revisionist history and those who cannot tell the difference between Leavitt supporters and those just pointing out that they were WRONG!. I had my issues with Leavitt but overlooked them because I recognized that he was probably the one man who really cared about our program. There were some on here who wanted him gone at any cost. They were certain that anybody could roll in here and start winning big. They were all pleased we got Skippy and did not like it when I mocked them when Usf lost to Syracuse for the first time. Leavitt is not coming back and I would not want that anyway. I just want to point out to the malcontents that they were WRONG JUST LIKE THEY ALWAYS ARE. Amen to these posts!!
  15. Different offensive coordinator and system. The way it was explained to me was that a play was called in the huddle that had 2 pass and 1 run option (or vice versa) and then receivers and QB looked to the sideline to see which option to run based on what they saw from the defense. I appreciate the breakdown, and apologize if I came off sounding that dense (hard to be eloquent from an ipad). I know that was under Canales and now Fitch is running the show, I was just trying to suggest something I would like to see BJ and team explore more using past examples. I don't know if it is a system thing, but it seems as if BJ just walks to the line and stares at the center waiting for the exchange. His typical cadence is literally: down.. Set.. Hit.. From a fan perspective, our offense seems too simplistic to me; and I would like to see us confuse/shock the defenses we play. On passing plays it seems to me that BJ selects his receivers before the play (basing this off of how many balls BJ forces to a double covered receiver). He does a good job for the most part on qb option reads, of reading the ends and potential outside blitzes. I just think the coaches need to give him the proper tools to succeed (especially with the WR talent and speed we have now); but, again I don't only blame BJ. Offensive line play has been poor, and play calling has been horrendous (IMO). It is upsetting knowing the speed and playmaking ability we have on offense, but can't seem to unleash it.
  16. Does anyone else notice that BJ rarely ever has any pre snap reads (yesterday might have been the first time I have ever seen him hard count without our team false starting). Grothe running out of shotgun spread would hike his leg as if to call for snap and see what the defense was showing and then either team would look to side line to read play from coaches or Grothe would adjust protection/routes himself. Also, to clear passing lanes for Grothe on quick slants and over the middle routes the tackles would cut block. BJ is an extremely nice kid, and I don't think he has been handled properly; but he clearly hasn't matured mentally on his own regarding the position. I also want to say that I think a lot of the blame should go to our offensive play calling, and piss poor defense (never thought I would ever say those words regarding USF).
  17. Tressell would be a great coach, but I was throwing out those names in jest. I was in Leavitt's camp, and can't tell you how much I miss his passion; but, it is totally unrealistic to think Holtz would be fired anytime soon (considering his huge extension he signed). I'm trying as hard as I can to hold onto some sort of faith in this guy. If he can't put together a successful campaign with Woulard at QB in his first 2 years he should be fired. The only positive I can take out of this year, is that Doug Woulard's contract is now highly incentive based; hopefully that will help push Holtz in the right directions (especially in regards to how he manages his coordinators cosh and fitch).
  18. Jim Tressell Houston Nutt Jim Leavitt Randy Edsall (after this year)
  19. Some of you guys really make me laugh at how you guys rip this guys thread like it is so far out of question. Lets think about this. In your guys opinion will B.J. be the QB for USF 2 years from now? You could say maybe, but it would totally fly in the face of Holtz and his system (unless Holtz totally changes his pro style offense and allows for spread and option; and B.J. somehow magically gets his head together). IMO Gunsby was brought in to be the future QB for USF. Let's say hypothetically Gunsby is the future QB for USF. Don't you think it would be beneficial for him and for the state of the program that he start say the last 4 or 5 games to get some experience rather than start opening day at Notre Dame (this is a hypothetical situation considering B.J. is allowed the rest of the year and Holtz decides to pull B.J. going into next year)? The reason it would be beneficial IMO is the fact that we are losing Dontavia Bogan, and A.J. Love next year meaning we will not have experienced WR's to help out Gunsby (besides really Landi and Griffin); Also we will be losing Center Sampson Genus and Mo Plancher guys that have been around that can help keep a young QB calm. I, like one of the posters, saw Gunsby with this team in practice, and the guy looks like the perfect person for what Skip would be looking for to run his offense (obviously need to see Weatherford and Brisset). I highly doubt Gunsby was beat out over Eveld. Many teams redshirt their future QB so he can learn the offense and get time to mature. I am with many on here that think it is stupid to pull a redshirt mid season, I just feel it would be more beneficial for Gunsby to play some this year considering the lack of depth we will have at WR next year (not that this year is extremely deep). Skip seems like a smart guy, so we will have to trust him (like many have stated). It just sucks to think that this team is looking at a couple of years (instead of next year) to get its act together. Hopefully the wait for Holtz to get his team together will be worth it (and not like the Kragthorpe experiment).
