  1. also keep in mind that Rutgers game was in September, when Rutgers was still "Rutgers"...if that game played as it was in November, could have been an instant classic, with a much larger crowd 40K+?? ...of course all speculation....
  2. you'll see a bump in the attendance next yr, great Big East home sched, UNC, and UCF coming to Ray Jay. The word is out on Grothe...starting to get a nice buzz around town for him. I see averaging >32K Honestly, w/o Rutgers this yrs home schedule was kind of lame. Yes, it shouldnt be an excuse, but it is ...Tampa has a lot of competition for its sports $$.
  3. My crew is planning to get tix day of game...in past experience you usually can score tix of someone cheaper than ticketmaster offers. Nooners are fun...how can you whine about a noon start? .....get get yo @ss to RayJay.
  4. B/c its a fact...they called Daryl Dawkins "Chocolate Thunder"...why cant Grothe be "White Lightning"?? People on the board argue about sitting v. standing at a game, and you bust my hump about trying to give our QB a nickname?
  5. Didnt UF move our game back 1 year to 2010? Wasnt it originally scheduled for 2009? Just doing some foreward thinking here, but how HUGE would a Tebow v. Grothe Showdown in the Swamp would have been if they both were Seniors..and granted that they both stayed all 4 years. BTW, Grothe needs a nick-name...I was thinking of something along the line of "White Lightning" or "White Chocolate"....homeboy has got some moves that are "Vick-like" ...that pump-fake run for a TD was awesome.
  6. someone needs to make these 2 shirts: USF Football - Who's your daddy? Leading the NCAA in fatherhood since 2000 or USF Football Covering the spread since 1997 just the facts, my friends....just the facts.
  7. what are the chances Tony Soprano himself shows up? James Garafini (sp??) has been known to grace the sidelines in NJ. I wouldnt be surprised if he comes down for this game.
  8. probably about the same as L'ville last yr...lost of Rutgers alum in the area, and who wouldnt want to come down from NJ for the game
  9. 1999 San Diego State 2001 Pitt 2002 Oklahoma 2003 Alabama 2004 South Carolina 2005 Penn State 2006 UCF Planned: 2007 - Rutgers 2008 - WVU
  10. Kirk/Kurt is right...RU is going to roll us up...has anyone watched them? they are a talented, well coached team - and will be looking to make a statement. I hope the line is under 10, cuz Im all in. Take off the green & gold glasses and face reality.
  11. FYI...the Citrus Bowl is located on Tampa Ave...how appropriate
  12. Just got back from the PITT trip on Monday AM, still revelling in our victory, was driving into work around 8AM, bitchin about how crappy the Giants looked the night before (Central Time)...news on radio about "unidentified object" hitting tower...got into office and saw pics...how quickly the Giants loss/how they played meant absolutely nothing or did anything else, but brought back what is really important in life. Hit the Giants game in KC the following week...mood in stadium was one that wont be forgotten, when the firemen passed the boot through the rows for donations, the boot was overflowing ...the sentiment in the stadium/country was something we may never see again
  13. Is UCF worth making a shirt specificially for? someone needs to make the general "USF Football...covering the spread since 1997" or USF Footbal (front) , Who's your daddy? (back) T's as an homage to the # of fathers on the team.
  14. I usually buy 1 or 2 group tickets for football games...my contact at athletic office invited me...hell, anyone could have gone as they didnt check names or anything at the event
  15. Went to the DVD Premier Party last night @ RJ, and quite a nice event. Good food and open bar (beer and wine). Food wise - the seafood station was excellent (should have seen the size of the prawns!) and the brisket quesadilla was right on time. LRS and CJL spoke, gave a good talk about the success/growth of the program, then they played the DVD. Some good inside stories, a little dissappointed in the beginning w/ the lack of football highlights but it ended with a slew of great plays. All in all, a good time and the DVD is a must for any Bulls fan.
  16. dude...we dont even appear on the Cane's radar....
  17. Hill 420...somebody, please make trhe jersey P.S. Thanks admin for taking down the orig post.
  18. Hootie is a classic....i think its underappreciated and should crack the nartional scene this yr...think about it...the freakin Hooters mascot does a gimmick in between quarters...talk about starting tradition, sometimes its right in front of you. I think the crowd is just starting to recognize the greatness of this event.
  19. I have attended some of the home and away "official" tailgates. I try my best to support these events, but bottom line they are pretty lame. Dont get me wrong the set up (tables, linens, etc) are nice, but the 1 or 2 drink limit blows. For $35+ you should be able to get loose if you want. Check out what our "competitors" due, their almun tailgates are usually all out. Can the drink limit be waved at these things or are we still in the Prohibition period? WAR ORLANDO! Lets show them Knights how we roll!
  20. Can anyone help? I am looking for 2 lower level tix for nedxt Saturday's Rutgers Mens B-ball game...game anyone help? Will pay $ or beer....much thanks! e-mail MikeMush00@aol.com if you can help. Go Bulls!
  21. Does anyone have 2 lower level tickets available for sale for the West Virginia men's basketball game on Thursday night? If so, e-mail me @ mikemush00@aol.com thanks!
