Offense Total Offense 65th Total Offensive TDS Tied for 57th Offensive Yards per Play 38th Are these great numbers? No but mostly average to a little above average equating to a theoretic 6-6. 7-5 season But then there is Defense Total Defense 131st (dead Last) Total TDs Allowed 130th Total Yards per play allowed 131st With that kind of defense USF had to be the best offense in the country to get to that theoretic 6 or 7 wins. My point here is, IMO, defense is easier to fix than offense. Having played both sides of the ball, offense is more challenging because it takes a lot of finesse and generalship, where defense is a lot of scheme and natural talent (speed, strength). Given a decent defensive coordinator plus a stronger faster more powerful defense those defensive numbers up should improve dramatically (of course thats a big given, green colored glasses and all that). If we maintain the offensive rankings, we may be closer to that 6 win record than it seems. And with the changes to the AAC we should have a solid opportunity to get to 6 or more wins next year. Of course we have the players leaving in the portal and the graduation of seemingly the entire offensive line may prove too big of an offensive hurdle to get over but if we can maintain that offensive level or, gasp! get better, and with the almost guaranteed improvement on defense (can't get any worse, literally), who knows? And the naysayer will say, bah 6 wins, who cares? eff, ill take it, after the last three years, i will never belittle a bowl game that we go to ever again. I will never take any bowl game for granted ever again. Go Bulls
