    IMO we are stuck with someone when the only reason I hear to start him is because he has experience, and nobody else is ready. That's not a reason to start him, that's just a reason not to start someone else.  WHAT?? Someone must be held accountable. we just didn't fall into this situation, we've had a few years to rectify it.

    I'm not going to go so far as smazza but it's apparent that if we're "stuck" with PJ as the starting QB on this team for a 3rd straight year than someone needs to be held accountable. We are far too good a program to have this again.

    jfcohio, couldn't agree more. PJ is not a good D1 starting QB period. I am tired of hearing about how he is the best we have. That may have been acceptable 2 years ago, but we've had 2 years to recruit someone better and if we haven't than this program has big problems at the QB position and in the recruiting staff. I am not blaming PJ, he is what he is. I'm sure he's trying his best but I just don't feel that he's the quality QB we need leading this team. Everytime I read news on his performance, I hear nothing along the lines of "PJ has a solid arm...PJ is an accurate passer...etc." All I hear is "PJ has the most experience." Whopdee doo! There's something to hang your hat on.

    PJ has reached his potential at QB and it's not that great. I say we take our lumps with someone who has more upside. We have given PJ 2 years to show his worth. He's had his time to prove himself. Experience can be overrated. This year we don't have Hall to lean on. It's going to be a LONG season if PJ is at the helm again.

    I wouldn't put much stock into what Eddie Munster says. He's known as a laughing stock when it comes to his draft predictions. He pretty much throws a bunch of crap at the walls to see what sticks.

    Draftexpress.com has Solomon Jones slated as the 37th overall pick. That's just 7 picks into the second round. There hasn't been a USF player predicted to be drafted this high in YEARS. Even if they are way off, it looks like he will still get drafted. They have been very complimentary of his Portsmouth performance. http://draftexpress.com/mock.php?y=2006

    Happy to see this. If there's one thing we should all agree on for this upcoming basketball season its that we should see the end of walk-on players. Whether it's through attrition, injury, or other, I think we're all tired of seeing depleted rosters. Here's to a healthy, full rotation this upcoming season.

    so happy to see this for Solomon. He is slated as a high second round pick on draftexpress.com Who would have thought with BB, Altron, Big Will, and others, that Solomon Jones might be he one to end the drought.

    6 TDs, 11 Ints, 20 Sackson the season. 1 Passing TD in the entire 2nd half of the season.......1 TD in 6 GAMES!!....that should be absolutely unacceptable, even with a run oriented offense.

    How many TD's did PJ throw for last season? How can anyone vote for him after answering that question. I would honestly rather see Smazza in there behind center than PJ.

    In related news, the Dolphins still suck. Maybe we can get the Great Googly Mogly guy to paint the field for us at a discount. We can be the Balls instead of Bulls or something.

    beastie, good assessment but IMO, PJ doesn't really have any solid strengths. I mean, he only has experience by default because we've nobody better to put in. Of all our QBs he might be the worst of the athletes. Please coach, anyone but PJ or Bullfreak will have some company for his jump.

    It does show that college basketball can succeed in this state. We should follow the model they have layed out. Is Mac the guy for us? Time will tell. Although I could care less about the Gators, but its nice to see a program stick with the right guy for 10 years and have it pay off.

    "IT" is throwing more than 3 TDs on an entire season. If PJ is the starting QB on this team again this season then someone needs to be held accountable: CJL, recruiters, QB Coach, someone.

    this is a huge loss. This guy was a big part of our recruiting class. If he's not mentally tough enough to get over homesickness, how's he going to handle the pressures involved with football?

    if PJ is our starting QB this week and am going to have to start agreeing with smazza. PJ seriously CANNOT be this team's QB next year. I am adament about this.
