  1. Bad defense vs bad offense, good defense vs average-to-good offense? Interesting.
  2. At this point it wont be a cat 1 at all in FL most likely. I now fear mostly for those in carolina, as well as the individuals getting the !@#$ blasted out of them by hurricane john on the other side.
  3. Hits the nail on the head. Human beings aren't too different. Most people can get into the 4.5-4.6 range with training (The only positions where that's too slow is the outside WR and corner). People with talent can get even faster than that. If you think running backs with 4.5's can't make it, you've not seen maurice clarett in college or emmit smith in the NFL. Technique is the most important, and technique+speed gives players a minor edge. There is nothing special about FL, other than that we have more people. FL, CA, TX, Ohio, etc. all share a similarity of being among the most populous states in america. Not surprising they'd have more fast people. They just have more people.
  4. The best way to have a QB competition is to make it look like one. Incidently, I'm kinda curious as to when we found out denson was the starter last year?
  5. It's a combination. If you are ranked high enough in the BCS standings, you get a FORCED @ large bid. Thanks to lack of respect from coaches and national media as opposed to if say some ACC school with a weak schedule hit 11-1, we'd be shorted a bid on THAT front too. True, if we are eligible but not automatic then we won't be picked for the reasons you mentioned as well.
  6. Mayyyyyyyyyyyyyyybe. If there were 4 0 loss teams and 2 1 loss teams or something, one of them being us, we'd have a good shot. If there are competing 1 loss teams, we probably lose out due to SOS and attendance figures (10-2 ohio state would draw WAY more for example). My guess is probably not, with the exception of us winning the BE despite 1 loss (which is the most likely way we'd win it). National media doesn't respect us, so basically its win the BE or no BCS this season.
  7. 1) Is it okay to stay home and watch a game on TV when you could have made arrangements to go? Only if you live outside of Florida. Not everybody has the money and time available from work to make it all the time. If you live in town and can go, its best to go. Besides, if you find a way to sneak food or drinks into rayjay, there's a distinct feeling of being happy about sticking the gla$ers. Also, if you get caught, you can slam that turkey sandwich, beer, or soda right there in front of the people who checked. Win-win. 2) Is it okay to walk out of a USF sporting event 15 or more minutes before it's over (when you could have stayed)? The only time I did this is when my grandfather was too old and we didnt want him getting caught up in the crowd with a long ass walk. Otherwise, no. If the team walks off, the fans can...that's about it. 3) Is it okay to own and or don other college team's parafanalia when you're a Bulls fan? No, with the notable exception of doing it for the express purpose of pissing someone off (ex: wearing UCF or UF's next opponents shirt around members of your family or friends that are fans of those awful sporting teams) Another exception is when you are given the shirt as a gift. In this case, doing things like wearing it inside out, marking it up, using it as a rag, or using it as material for your next school project are all acceptable uses of other schools' items. Also, it can be used for the aforementioned purpose of pissing off other people, if you are lucky enough to have such a coincidental advantage. 4) Is it okay to still be a FSU, UF, or Miami fan while being a Bulls fan? Not ahead of USF. If you want them to beat up on UNC, penn state, or FAMU that's fine. As long as USF is first. 5) Is it okay to berate the Bulls' coaches, players, and USF personnel on a message board? Coaches and personnel that are detrimental to the overall development and progress of the players can be. Players should never be targets of slander, although opinions of who should be the starter do not berate players so long as it is kept civil and explained in such a manner. 6) Is it okay to consistently be negative about USF athletics and still be a Bulls fan? No, but anyone who does this is still better than any non usf fan. It's a tier system. 7) Do you feel USF athletics, including coaches, players and staff, owe you something, like maybe the "truth" about such and such? What is this? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUF! Coaches ARE staff btw, and they owe fans their best effort, but nothing else I can think of off hand. Players owe themselves their best effort. After all, the NFL pays quite well.
  8. I wanna play this guy in NCAA. His timing is off on some of those plays, ESPECIALLY when he's controlling DB's against the pass. At high level play he'd get torched . Then again, I also noted he's playing on the god awful ps2/xbox gen systems, where the option is ungodly overpowered and you can "USER CATCH" go routes 1 on 1 80+% of the time. Ncaa 2007 on the 360 has the defense playing much, much more realistically. CPU db's will actually swat the ball down if its thrown in range. Also, the safety actually WILL take the pitch man on option plays! (as opposed to standing completely still till the QB crosses the line of scrimmage, and then closing on the QB instead of tailback). For all my !@#$ing, I did pretty well in those garbage games, but it's good to be playing a game where defensive calls work against what they're supposed to. Still, I'd be happy any time the bulls could put up 90 points in football in real life. Ownage.
  9. I'm surprised they aren't trying him out at least a little. Their starters are out so its a great chance. He isn't really getting a fair look...is he that behind in practice?!
  10. Somehow I doubt his drink of choice is water. Also, I somehow doubt he could deliver it and remove it from the field in time during timeouts. He looks alot more like a fan 8 seats up in the stand with a beer and several hot dogs to me.
  11. And you see the guns on him !?! Nobody ever argued THAT. The guy has some SERIOUS power. If he takes off, he could actually carry the ball like a fullback. We just need him to throw it more accurately.
  12. Not bad, the most impressive out of the four are Meyer(by far) and Leavitt. Coker is doing ok, and Oleary is clearly above average, but @ the bottom of that list IMO.
  13. People use rats for all kinds of experiments. Before subjecting them to shock and creating whatever patterned behavior you wish, you still have to feed them . My little sister goes to UCF. I tell her she's a traitor all the time. But, unfortunately that means that I have to love at least 1 gnat. Dammit.
  14. Bull!!! We are just a little ole' I-AA team. You guys are going to beat the crap out us. If we had the 2001 team that played A&M or the 2002 team that played Nebraska and beat ULM and then went to the I-AA NC game, then there might be some hope. But we don't near have the team that we had in those years. Doc Don't mind him. No matter what the opponent is, be it FSU, howard, or state sales tax, that opponent will destroy us. 1-AA players are still division 1 athletes. Maybe not as good as 1-A players top to bottom, but I only WISH I had enough strength and speed to easily start for a 1-AA .
  15. What kind of retarded driving allows you to get into an accident over a "decoy deer"? The only way I can picture that happening where the driver isn't being a total dumbass is if they THREW the deer onto the road as the car was coming up. Or oiled up the road. Or something. If they just stuck an animal there, the driver is at least as idiotic as the people who put it there, and I feel bad for his passenger. You NEVER swerve the car outside of a lane to avoid things...especially if they aren't human and you're going over 30. If you're going a decent speed for the conditions, breaking will usually do it. Eyes on the road? Going relatively near the speed limit? When did people forget how do drive? They dont jail animals for crossing the road, and good drivers will NOT crash from animals in the road, real or not! I'm not taking away from the stupidity of putting it there in the first place, but I actually see 2 months in jail as a bit much, especially for kids. If they're seriously gonna put those young morons in jail for this, then I'd like to see every single person who gets busted for a DUI in for a YEAR on the first offense. That is a way bigger problem, and its given slaps on the wrist and then everyone looks the other way.
  16. Overall, I like college most. In terms of on the field rules, NFL is better. Spot fouls for interference, 2 feet to make a catch, and now reviewable fumbles are just better. Play is much better in the NFL. Random overpursuit is infrequent, and you dont have to put up with gimmick offenses running rampant because 2-3 defenders are constantly out of position or miss their tackles. College is more fun to watch however. Each game has more pressure to it. Although the NFL has a playoff, the CHAMPIONS had FIVE losses last season, and that's not the first time that's been the case. In fact, in many years 4 losses will secure you a first round bye. In college, you lose 1 and you're probably out of the title race. You lose 2, and you're completely out, and the conference race starts looking bad. You lose 5, and you're average at best. Every game has feeling.

  18. Depends on the offense. I'm not ready to put them over our +21 unit however. That defense had an NFL starter and several draft picks on it. This defense LOOKS like it can overtake it. However, we need some help from the offense, and it aint comin from blackwell.
  19. NEITHER school is a "top" football team at the moment. I don't get what they're crying over. If we suck that bad they should win no problem right? If not than we're a worthy BCS opponent. Some people are incomprehensible.
  20. Glad UCF can help your strength of schedule...especially with all the lower ranked Big East teams KL PS. Congrats on the Michigan State series...those should be fun games. Maybe the Indiana series is a BASKETBALL series instead? Hilarious scenario if you guys beat UF and lose to us. I'd live with that. As for playing indiani in BB...I wanna cry at the thought of that. Aren't the BE drubbings enough until the team improves?!
  21. The good is the bulls football program as a whole. The bad is the offensive coaching for the QB's The ugly is any time that isn't football season...it's a painful stretch. Somebody bring back the XFL and make it GOOD this time!!!
  22. We won't get high recruiting rankings until the damned idiots stop taking stars away from whoever commits with us. Our talent base is pretty strong. If we have a QB with his head straight we're practically contenders already. Recruiting rankings mean !@#$.
  23. I don't mind but...is our QB depth really that strong?!
  24. I want one thing: a music diddy along with a chant that is guaranteed to annoy the crap out of visiting teams' fans and players.
  25. ANY reduction in duration of game will benefit the underdog team...assuming the underdog team is actually less talanted. The longer a game is, the more the depth and strength of the favorite will come into play. Of course, the total time this reduces a game is minimal, and the effects will most likely be unnoticed 95% or more of the time. Just a tiny paper-thin shaving of parity has been added, that's all. The more talented/better coached teams are still going to be winning.
