  1. Beastie, I agree the QB position is not good but to categorize the team as they just suck and the future sucks is just an idiotic statement. Hopefully through recruiting we get the right guy in for the QB spot that can run this offense. I agree that if a certain player has problems that it is a valid discussion but go take a look at your last 100 posts of doomsday. It gets real old. There are a lot of young teams that can compete and we are one of them. Unfortunately competing does not always equal wins.
  2. I agree mutt! I don't have a problem of pointing out some of the things that need to be fixed and being critical but the 'we suck' and 'we will suck even next year' and 'bad players are bad players who cares if they are young' comments are so out of whack. Teams do turn it around. Look at who we play tonight. We beat them last year and now they are favored by a bunch. I guess after last year's loss they should have dispanded the program and not looked forward to improving into this year. We are young in many positions and hopefully they come together in time like this UL team. As for the older groups such as the OL and DL I have been impressed with the OL. Army is an example of how well they can play and you can't blame them for any of the downfalls last Saturday. As for the DL I did expect more this year and hopefully through recruiting we continue to build. I must admit during the game I was unaware that LRS left the game with an injury which may have hurt us. Good luck Bulls tonight!
  3. smazza you bring hope to us all. You should become the recruiter since your knowledge of football is so great.
  4. class of '94 after 7 great years. And no I am not a Doctor.
  5. What is wrong with a lot of you? We are 2-2 with losses to 2 decent teams. Not all is lost so stop acting like it is. Sure I assume we will lose to UL but UAB is not some powerhouse and will be very beatable. Some of you moan like little babies at the slightest things. Take a look around the country and see that each game takes on its own battles and one or two losses is not the end of the world. We do play a decent amount of youth and hopefully the team continues to grow. I understand people being critical over individuals play such as the QB and pointing out that it needs improvements but to just come up with statements that we have no chance at a bowl is ludicrous. 5 teams go bowling if eligible from c-usa and we already beat one that is predicted to go. I will wait to past judgement on this team until after the UAB game because then the picture will be a lot better. So please in your wise wisdom who will be the fifth team? I see UL and USM near the top and then Memphis, UAB, and us. TCU will get there 6 wins so they will be in the picture but I see us getting 6 or 7 wins as well so it will come down to do they pick TCU or us. I still am not convinced that UAB or Memphis are all that and only time will proove it. Neither have a big win unless you consider UABs win over Memphis a big win. Truthfully, TCUs win over Northwestern probably counts as a better win.
  6. It is obviously a typo. Last week TCU was above us in the poll.
  7. USC 27-7 225 Green This is the first time I have predicted the opposition so hopefully I am totally wrong on this one. I have no faith in the offense and it is too hard for the defense if we are continually 3 and out. I also heard that Julmiste is still very questionable this week which would be terrible because I think Banks is not the answer.
  8. Come on now. Does anyone really believe if McGrady, Kobe, Shaq, Garnett, etc. were there we would lose? NO WAY! The problem is the great ones did not want to go outside of 2 superstars in Iverson and Duncan. Unfortunately the way they put the team together after not being able to get the best is the problem. It is obvious to everyone they should have grabbed a couple of role players that can simply shoot. Who cares if they can slash or not. We still have the best but we don't have a 'team'. We have a bunch of slashers. Even in the NBA they don't try to put a team together with a bunch of guys where no one can shoot the ball from the outside. The mistake simply falls on whoever put the team together.
  9. It is embarrassing to watch. Puerto Rico played a packed in zone and just let the US shoot wide open threes and they could not connect. I heard someone this morning complaining that coach Brown was to blame but last time I checked he does not shoot the ball. Velcro is right they just cannot shoot the ball. I do give AI credit for taking the interview after the game and answering questions about being the first NBA player team to lose in the Olympics.
  10. I used to call it bandwagon fans but you have to build a base somewhere or people like you and many others that already have a team will never really care much for this team. It becomes bandwagon when they start to lose again and people stop supporting them and I don't mean by going to games but they start cheering for other teams. Let's face it the majority of people around here are from another place so the 'passion' is not as great so it must be built. I can respect sox and cubs fans who go thru no championships forever. I do believe it must be easy to be a Yankee fan though. Traditions must be built. I guess by living here all my life I have been able to grow with all the pro teams and now I get to enjoy the early years of the Bulls.
  11. It is America so of course a person can cheer for whoever they want. I just hope when and if you have children they enjoy the HOME team as much as you did when you grew up. I guess over time it takes championships to create a fan base. As for the Indians fans I have several of them as friends so I agree with you there. I can't convert them either but I will keep trying.
  12. Sorry Velcro but according to the map you live in Valrico so I would have to say that the Bosox are your home team would be a mistake. Also, just as a curiousity do you also then cheer for the Patriots and the Bruins over the true home team in this area? I find it funny when people change an allegiance when the winning occurs. On that note I would be the first to admit if I moved to another area it would be hard for me to change the passion I have for the teams in this area so I do understand if you came from there. I just hate all the stinking Sox fans (and Yankee fans) that live here and go to the game cheering for the other team. I am sure you will not find that in there stadiums.
  13. Sorry but I am a homer so I am glad the Bosox screwed up last night. Way to go Hall. It is a shame that you local people do not support the home team but that is another subject.
  14. BullDoug, Be fair now, the style of play is one of the reasons for no 1000 yard rushers along with the constant substitution. I believe our style of offensive may be a little different this coming year.
  15. This thread has obviously taken a turn to a buc rampage but I must throw in my 2 cents. First off the bucs will be fine and will be back this year in the playoffs. Secondly someone earlier in the thread mentions Dungy bringing in the core talent but that is wrong as well because Sam W. brought in the talent(Brooks, Lynch, Sapp - core of the defense) and Dungy used it well as a coach should so I give him credit because I did like Dungy. Without Gruden this team would have never won the superbowl because the offense the second half of that year was one of the tops and Dungy ball would not have worked. What makes the Colts dangerous is they kept the offensive coordinator and just brought in Dungy for head coach. A lot of the offensive philosophy was kept for that team. Now for the bitter Georgia posters don't worry we will get you again next year. Now back to the original reason for the post -- good luck Benjamin and I agree that teams during the year will look for an experienced long snapper so hopefully he catches on.
  16. This is great. Comparing 2 bad teams. Who cares? No postseason for either one of them. Once one of the teams makes the postseason then we can have a real discussion on this topic.
  17. WVUNo1Fan you are very confident as you should be but let's remember WVU did lose to Cincy at home. I would not talk too much trash just yet.
