This is exactly what makes no sense to me. Dennis is just a freshman but Harvey knows what he will become down the road. How effective were Swift and Leather as freshman? I was scared to death when Swift was put on the floor the first couple of years. Sure I would love to get a 'Diaper Dandy' and have a freshman stud to come in and help but once again I am realistic.

Turkey I believe you are full of it. All the naysayers after back to back seasons of 10 or 11 wins would be crying and calling for the coaches head. Don't give me your crap about the next big set of recruits. From what I hear Cann is/was before the injury a big time recruit. Will he get back to his old form I don't know but I can hope. You guys are judging a coach who has only had one full recruiting season. It will take time here no matter what you think. If I was a good to great bball player would I be thinking USF? Would you? It will take baby steps. Even in CUSA I believe our best conf record is 9-7 so we have never been world beaters. Whether anyone truly wants to admit it there is not much of a tradition here. We do not draw big crowds. A lot needs to improve and I am willing to give it time. I don't ignore the facts and I realize that the improvement this year has not been drastic. Unfortunately, RPI does not take into account the scores of games just who wins/loses. I have seen this team battle a lot more this year losing to average teams that will get post season action by 1-6 pts. Sure, it is a loss but I see a team that is battling and as the talent increases I hope the wins do to. I am not giving up on the young guys like you have. How impressive was Swift and Leather 3 years ago. I know I thought Swift was not very good at all his freshman year but now he is a leader. I still feel we need to recruit a big man but I see a decent nucleus for a team. Sure it is scary to think of a team without Swift and Leather especially with the results we have had but I believe someone else will step up. I still say I will withhold judgement til later because it is still early to tell. If we have the same results 2 yrs from now I will write a post praising the insight of Turkey, Beastie, and the rest of the Dark Side that so proudly supports this team.

Go look it up - In Coach K's first year he was succesful with 17 wins and a NIT bid. The following two years he won 10 and 11 games. Don't tell me this Dark side crowd would have supported that. You Turkless would have been all over him as well while velcro would have been talking about the potential. We do not know yet what will happen over the next couple of years and it is pure pessimism that creates these absurd threads.

How much better should we be? Let's see. Since I started at USF we have gone to 2 NCAA tourney's (none in the last 10 yrs). In the last 10 yrs I believe we have only attended 2 NITs. This is not a basketball traditional school. Do I want more as a fan? YES. But I am smart enough to understand that for what we can afford for a coach it will take time to build up the program. If you were a big time recruit would you be running to come to USF? The only NBA player that most people would recognize by name that is a former USF player is Chucky so why do so many of you fools think that a new coach is going to turn it around so fast. He has had 2 recruiting classes. After four years with all his own players if things are not better then it is time to criticize but to condemn someone this quick is absurd. Be realistic and give the man a chance to put together a team.

How come the Dark Side has not put any messages in this thread. It is just too positive for me. I expect the negativity when I come to read all the posts. I expect a post from Beastie followed immediately by a post by Velcro. Sometime I think it is uncanny how close together they post.

Personally I don't see Severino getting the nod. As for Brady I believe he started 2 yrs there so being a backup before then is no big deal. Plus, I thought with Griese they went undefeated his senior year.

Here is another question. With 6 TE's on the team counting the 3 recruits, are any of them expected to be moved to another position? I know it is speculation I am asking for. Also, I understand all 3 could get a redshirt. Just curious if they played other positions.

Good analysis Bulliever. As for Chris Capko not playing he obviously is not ready. Hopefully someday he is ready. This team is limited in what it can do and good defensive teams will stop them. I fear the game against Louisville.

B. Diddy, stay on topic and don't be an idiot. As for the redshirts it was very obvious last year that Leavitt will use freshman if he thinks they are ready. Let's just hope if they are used it is not out of desperation as it was this past year.

Good job students. I also listened on the radio and was impressed. I know back when I was going to games in the early 90's it was a great time and I can only hope that the passion continues. I hope to make a few games in person so it would be nice if there is a passionate crowd.
