  1. UCF, UC, Tulane (great road trips and an in between link to Florida) Go Bulls!
  2. We actually have more alumni support http://www.centralfloridafuture.com/story/news/2015/10/14/fewer-ucf-alumni-donate-uf-usf/73944206/ At the most recent Board of Trustees meeting, it was announced that UCF receives donations from approximately 3 to 6 percent of alumni. With an alumni base of 250,000, that means only between 7,500 and 15,000 donate to their alma mater. At the University of South Florida, established in 1956, 9 percent of the approximate 296,000 alumni — about 26,700 — make financial donations to their alma mater, said Bill McCausland, USF’s Alumni Association executive director.
  3. I think ESPN games not broadcast on cable will in the future will be streamed through a service you have to pay for. Disney just bought into one, and the days of free ESPN streaming (for ESPN cable subscribers) may be coming to an end. Go Bulls!
  4. No, there are many differences. We are a better TV draw, have a much larger endowment, have a greater percentage of alumni donors, have better research and academics, a stated ambition and dedication to obtain elite status and AAU membership, we have a better total sports program, a better football team with in my opinion more upside, and pretty much in every demographic other than school size and football seasons of 2012, 2013, and 2014 we are better. While it does seem strange, don't be concerned too much about the press and people who don't take time to study the details. College presidents and regents will be making the decision, not the public. Go Bulls!
  5. Strength and conditioning. That is a key place where we have improved, and it will lead to good things. Go Bulls, and beat everybody!
  6. I still think there's a good chance they don't even expand. If the Big 12 goes to Florida, I would like both us and "them" taken. I think it would be more fun that way. I would hope that "they" would feel the same way. Go Bulls, and beat FSU!
  7. Or access bowl, which isn't much of a reach since we are pretty much everybody's favorite for the AAC East, and the AAC champ has a pretty good chance to make one of the NY day bowls. Laugh all you want. Go Bulls!
  8. It sucks, but we all get left behind eventually while the world continues on without us. Until then, Go Bulls!
  9. You know, if things go down like that, adding 2 now and 2 after the season, then that puts USF in a very good position. We win the AAC, get the playoffs or access bowl, and we will vault to the top of the G5 for expansion in most people's eyes. We should have a huge increase in attendance this year, and hopefully take full advantage of it on the field. Go Bulls, and beat FSU!
  10. You know, I think the AAC would get just as good ratings as the Big 12 for the networks, with the exception of Texas and Oklahoma, and to a much much lesser extent, WVU. I'm sure the numbers can be looked up and compared for similar type of game exposure (ESPN, same slots, etc). If the Big 12 somehow breaches their agreement with the networks, it wouldn't be a bad idea for Aresco to try and sell the AAC instead at 1/2 of what they are paying the Big 12. Saves the networks a ton of cash, they could promote the heck out of the AAC, and if the deal was struck we could add the best of the rest like WVU and TCU if they wanted to go along. Texas and OU will have homes anywhere they want, but the rest are pretty much expendable. It would be nice to step in and take their spot at the table. Go Bulls!
  11. If we go undefeated and beat a one loss FSU and a one loss Houston, we might make it to the playoffs, especially if there are other no undefeated teams. That said, if this team starts thinking they are going to cruise through the schedule other than FSU and another game or two, then we are in serious trouble. We have a great opportunity the way this season is set up for us, and these chances are so rare that I hope every player on the team can dedicate themselves to hard work and maximum effort at all times. Unfortunately, the world is littered with wishes of "If I could only have that chance again." Seize it, cherish it, and leave with nothing but the memories of victory well earned. Go Bulls!
  12. This is setting up to be a renogiated TV contract with the current members that pays each team a few million per year more, and extends the TV deal to coincide with the end of the Lonhorn Network. The entire expansion thing may just be a play for more cash from the networks. Then UT and OU can bolt if there isn't a better offer when the Longhorn network deal ends in 2031. Go Bulls and beat the Noles!
  13. It could also mean that if asked, then some will leave. It doesn't mean they will be asked. That remains to be seen unless it has already been done, but then the Big 12 teams wouldn't have to vote on it, would they? Go Bulls!
  14. I read somewhere that in the last big 12 expansion, the finalists included BYU and Tulane.. Maybe they both go this time. Go Bulls!
  15. BYU would be in way before Cincy in my estimation. They have a national following, much like a mini version of Notre Dame. I think they would add much more value to the conference. If the Big 12 decides to add 2, it looks to be BYU and Houston from what I have seen. As far as Memphis, don't discount the role that university presidents play in this process. I don't know if the Big 12 presidents would want to add Memphis to their little club, but who knows? Go Bulls.
  16. As far as I am aware we (the uninformed masses) don't know if coach Antigua did or sanctioned anything in vioation of USF or NCAA rules. If he did, then a buyout should not be needed to get rid of him. If he didn't, then it seems like we are either cleaning things up for something like a Big 12 announcement, or it is just another wild rumor. Go Bulls!
  17. Hey, man black coaches matter Go Bulls!
  18. We are better in most every standard the Big 12 listed. Academics, research, endowment, media market, overall athletic department, TV viewership, possibly attendance this year and certainly in percentage increase in attendance, and I am assuming in competitiveness, but shocking results could always happen. I think both schools have great futures ahead if they have similar opportunity, and really I think it would be hard for any other candidates to have better prospects than either of us, but I don't know if UCF will ever have the academic push to AAU status that Judy is working hard on. That is something other university presidents can appreciate. I would like to be in the Big 12, but to tell you the truth if the AAC was a P5 conf with similar payout, I would just as soon stay where we are. The conference was really starting to come together. Go Bulls!
  19. There were rumors that without an ACC network, Florida State and Clemson would be exploring greener pastures. Now that appears to be shut down. Here's an interesting article that said when the Big 12 expands, the SEC should grab OK and OK State to go to 16. http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2016/07/when_the_big_12_expands_so_sho.html Who knows what is going to happen. I wouldn't even be surprised if the Big 12 doesn't expand at all for a couple years. Go Bulsl!
  20. I think the vote was unanimous for him to contact schools and discuss their interest. As far as I know there was no vote about actually expanding. "Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said the decision to further explore expansion and examine individual candidates was a unanimous decision by the 10 chancellors and university presidents on the board of directors. The issue was placed to a formal vote, and no member of the board objected or abstained, according to the commissioner. “I think this continues to be exploratory, but it is clearly another step forward and one that our board felt very good about,” Bowlsby said. “On this one, we took a vote and everyone was supportive of it. Go Bulls!
  21. We need to find out what happened before anybody gets canned. Cheating should not be tolerated at all. USF should be above that, and any parties involved should have their relationship with the university terminated. If COA wasn't involved, then he should stay. BTW, here is an article from this spring about two of the final 4 with academic fraud allegations in the programs (Syracuse and North Carolina) https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2016/04/01/two-teams-facing-charges-academic-fraud-meet-ncaa-basketball-tournament Go Bulls!
  22. I just read somewhere that Tampa is number one for the city most people are moving to. Go Bulls!
