Playing his senior season in the BIG EAST will help Hall with alot of exposure. You can bet that the BIG EAST will pimp Hall if he continues to play like this. Also, you can bet that the NFL scouts will be looking at Hall as well.

I cant tell you how big this win was on national TV. The annoucers did a great job on selling USF to the potential recruits IMO. They really did their research about the USF football program in citing the history and new facilities. This has to be one of the best broadcasts for a USF football game IMO. Look at it this way, if you are a recruit you would have been impressed about the direction of the USF program. Winning that game was just icing on the cake because just about everyone expected USF to lose. Anyway, I know Bien can agree that this game will do wonders for our recruiting because it was the only football game on national TV. There was no competition from other games are High School games. This win has to be one of the biggest for our young program that will help us grow. The only negative was the penalities and that Royal incident with Coach Leavitt. Anyway, USF will get a much needed rest before they take on ECU which I believe will be televised across the whole state on the SUNSHINE NETWORK. USF needs to come out and dominate ECU to impress.

Lol, maybe this will help Leavitt and USF like it has helped Pitt this season. Wanstadt was rumored to be on his way to taking over at Pitt while Walt Harris just shut those rumors up by winning. Now Pitt is getting alot of votes in the polls. Maybe USF can do something similar and win out.

The best thing about the NHL lockout is that there is less sports competition right now in Tampa to interfere with USF football and basketball. This NHL lockout is a big opportunity for USF basketball to bring back fans if we can just win this season. To me, I never really get into the NHL regular season because it is too long and too many teams make the playoffs. The real season of NHL is the playoff season, not the regular season. Anyway, I hope the USF marketing department capitalizes on the NHL lockout because there should be more sports fans wanting to spend money.

I am still waiting on BeastieBull's answer to who USF should have hired for the head coach last season. And remember, USF does not have the money right now to hire a BOBBY KNIGHT. Right now, USF made a great choice in Robert McCullum whether you think so or not. Coach McCullum has brought a better image to our basketball program. The basketball program already won some academic awards in C-USA under McCullum's watch. Right now, McCullum has control of this program which is something Seth did not. Dont you remember how imbarrassing it was to USF when Seth and Baxter went after the ECU fans just a few years ago?? Dont you remember when Seth had some players leave and come dressed up in street cloths. If you think USF was better off three years ago then you are blind.

Sheriff, You are forgetting one major thing in your statement. Yusef Baker was never McCullum's player. McCullum wants to start fresh the fastest way he can because he knew there was a bad attitude in the basketball program. It was a simple no tolerance for off the field troubles. You can lump Baxter in the same boat as he did not get along with McCullum from the start. Yes, I feel sorry for those players because of what happened, but you have to accept the reality that McCullum wants his own team at USF. McCullum laid down the law to the players, so players that did not like it had to leave the program.

SMAZZA, Franks only coaches the running game. Since he has come in, the running game has improved with the addition of Hall. If I was USF, I would be thinking about promoting Franks to the offensive coordinator position if Hobbie can get it done.

I am getting too excited for the hoops program. There seems to be new life after all. I bet BASKETBULL is starting to have hope.

I believe USF will get that bowl spot if we beat UAB. Beating UAB will set the momentum for the rest of the season. If we beat UAB, then we should beat ECU at home. The next big challenge will be Cincy IMO. Beating Cincy is a must because it will hurt their bowl chances. The way things are looking, a 6-5 USF team may get invited if Cincy and TCU dont become bowl eligible.

I am excited as heck for the hoops season to start. Last year left a bad taste in my mouth, so I know this season will be alot better. It should be fun watching our new players develop under Coach McCullum.

FAU is in big trouble because of attendance issues. They only got about 13k fans last week. I believe they need to average over 15k fans before they can become a full fledged 1A member. If the NCAA does not do away with this rule, then FAU is stuck in transition land for a long time. Losing to UL Lafayette really hurt FAU big time this season.

I am sorry but Blackwell had great stats under Mike Hobbie's watch. I seriously doubt Blackwell thinks it is Hobbie's fault on offense.

I am not ready to guarantee any losses for this program under Robert McCullum. I believe we will suprise alot of teams under his coaching.

Let me just say that I will be suprised if he goes back to coach UF. There is just too much bad blood between Spurrier and the SEC from last time. Do you think Spurrier would want that mess again??? I say Spurrier is going to sit back for at least a year and watch his son play football before he coaches again.

USF starting playing football in 1997 while UF has played for about 100 years. UF has only one championship to show for it, and they would have never got that 1 championship if Arizona St would have not choked againg Ohio St. USF has only 1 losing season while UF has alot of losing seasons. Now tell me your apples to oranges comparison again??

Great article by Vitale. USF can be a major story if they start playing well in the BIG EAST. I think it can be done because Miami had some success with Coach Hamilton in the BIG EAST. As a matter of fact, I really believe joing the BIG EAST will help USF more than what we had in the C-USA. The reason I say this is that more $$$$ will be coming in because of the BIG EAST hoops. There is no doubt that the TV money will be huge for USF and the BIG EAST. You see, USF will benefit for being a middle of the pack team in the BIG EAST because of the big conference tourny that will give us expose to recruits in the NORTHEAST. A middle of a pack team in C-USA just does not get that same exposure as BIG EAST middle of the pack team. I say the BIG EAST invite pretty much helped USF hoops because USF was not going anywhere in C-USA. BIG EAST will get about 7 or 8 bid to the tourny while the C-USA will be lucky to get 3 bids IMO. You do the math.

Sheriff, Please dont take this as a jab at Seth. I didnt mean to come off like that because I thought Seth improved USF hoops from when he took over. He brought alot of respect during his peak years at USF with having us on the bubble and getting national televised games. I just think Seth lost the team later on and he knew that so that is why he left. The team had alot of the players fighting and showing disrepect to Seth which is never good IMO. Now, USF has a coach that wont take that crap from his players as we found out last season. As a USF fan, I could have cared less about the big losses as long as Coach McCullum stood his ground which he did by not giving special treatment to his star players. Call me crazy, but Coach McCullum is going to take this program to a level that USF has never seen before. If you could not see the difference in play during the end of last season then you really missed alot IMO. We were toe to toe with DEPAUL, UAB, MARQ, etc down the stretch when we had about 8 or 7 players left. Now, the team is getting depth and they are believing in his system. If USF finishes in last place in C-USA this year then it will be time to worry because I know we are better than that right now. GO BULLS!!!! War post season play for USF!!!!

Dont forget that Mike Hobbie played a big part in USF's 9-2 season just a few years ago. I dont put much blame on Mike Hobbie because he is calling plays that are just not being executed. I honestly believe that USF would be ranked right now if we had a QB like Blackwell. Whoever developed Blackwell while at USF needs to be hired back ASAP. I agree with Bien in that Rod Smith needs to take some of the blame for not improving Banks or Julmiste. It just goes to show you that our development at QB sucks. I dont think Hobbie has that much to do with that. Give Mike Hobbie the tools and you will see USF scoring alot on offense.

I dont know about you, but I am feeling alot better about the USF basketball program under Coach McCullum. He is getting some good recruits for the record we had last season. I have a feeling that USF will be much improved and display team basketball this season. I really believe the USF basketball program will take off pretty soon with Coach McCullum. We are not that far away IMO because we did compete near the end of the season. I just have a hunch that we will suprise alot of people this season in basketball. I doubt we will finish in last place this season. GO BASKETBULLS!!!! CRM is the savior!!!!

It really can effect USF if Spurrier is hired back at UF. Dont forget that USF has a big recruiting asset in Carl Franks right now. You can bet that Spurrier will be hiring him with better pay at UF if he gets the job. As you know, those two are good friends and they use to coach together. Some say that once Carl Franks left Spurrier to get the DUKE HC job, the recruiting at UF was never as good. I truley believe that Franks has been a big asset for USF those far in bringing in some talented RBs.

Now that USF will be going on a big winning streak, I expect the recruiting to pick up even better. GO BULLS!!1 7-4 OR BUST!!

I think USF can finish 6-5 if they play better. It is obvious that we are getting better in the secondary. We just need to dump that punk trash talking stuff and play hard. That is all there is to it. Leavitt will see it that we do get better soon.
