  1. Thanks for the well-wishes, guys. I had to watch the game on Tivo due to being in a play up in New Port Richey. Picked up a 12 pack on the way home, kept the mobile off, listened to the Garden State soundtrack, then came home and plowed through the 12 beers. Around 3am or so Roomie Jenn came downstairs to see what I was yelling and hyperventilating about. If only I could have been there. That stadium only seated 20,000 when I was in school, though we had about 22,000 for a homecoming game against BGSU in 1997... we took down teh goalposts. I guess they thought ahead this time and greased them up. I've watched the OT interception about 20 times now.. over and over... tears streaming down my face. Sucks I'm missing the game tonight, and the next two weekends, but that's the life of a thespian I guess.
  2. I love it when Duemig talks about politics, too, because he's so ignorant that he just comes across as a complete idiot. My favorite Duemig moment was when he was blaming the "bleeding-heart liberals" for trying to keep Schiavo alive, and then when a caller rang him up to correct him he called the guy an "idiot."
  3. Yeah, I met Duemig at Ferg's before a Rays game once. He's a big fat f*ck.
  4. I'm astonished on a daily basis at how poor the production and overall qualities are of that program, in a "sports town" in the 11th biggest market in the country, on the only sports station. It's astoundingly embarassing.
  5. That place is trash anyway. The only thing worse than Hooters is a fake Hooters.
  6. EXCEPT HE HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE HE WAS A FRESHMAN. If coaching was going to fix it, it would have by now. He has a million drops because he throws the ball in a manner that makes it nearly impossible to catch. Compare the way he throws a football with how, say, a Manning or McNabb throws a football. They throw it much more smoothly and accurately. Julmiste throws it like it's a hot potato.
  7. I really want to know why nobody has ever told Julmiste that he doesn't have to throw the ball as hard as he can EVERY SINGLE TIME. Accuracy is far more important than speed, but he just doesn't seem to understand this. He's passing EXACTLY the way he did last year - fastballs that hit the ground, go through receivers' hands, or bounce off of defenders.
  8. Nice to see the Boreacle is starting off another year on the wrong foot.
  9. Sheesh. They rank Everson above Julmiste? (I'm actually not a Julmiste fan, so I'm inclined to agree. I think he confuses throwing the ball _hard_ with throwing the ball _accurately_.)
  10. http://www.afca.com/lev2.cfm/603 Breakdown by conference in the top 25 (schools with greater than 70% graduation rate for football players) Mid-American: 6 Atlantic Coast: 3 Big Ten: 3 Big 12: 3 Conference USA: 3 Big East: 2 Southeastern: 2 Western Athletic: 2 Independents: 1 Yes, Ohio was one of the MAC schools up there. I'm actually a bit disappointed, as it was only a few years ago we were #2 in the country, behind Duke's 100%. I hope CJL can work on getting us on that list in the future .
  11. i think there is a legitimate crisis brewing as both the NBE and CDOA will have trouble fulfilling their bowl obligations. Just a prediction.
  12. wait, i fail to understand how a broken leg makes you unable to take advantage of a free education.
  13. by the way, i think the DRO dropped the ball in not trying to persuade the Cardinals to wear old-school USF uniforms. After all, LaRussa is an alumnus. In fact, the combination of UTampa's Lou, USF's Tony, and a game played in St. Pete is quite the coincidence.
  14. The Rays might be the worst-run franchise in major sports HISTORY. However, they are (as far as I know) the only major league baseball team that offers $1 beers on every Friday night. Combine that with the $3 tickets and it creates great value.
  15. They were wearing the uniforms Lou wore when he played for U.Tampa in the early 1960s. It was not a snub. It was nostalgic.
  16. Even the most casual fan knows who Gigi Fernandez is. We were very, very lucky to have her here and are still fortunate to have her sticking around to volunteer.
  17. What the hell is the St. Petersburg Thunderdome?
  18. I would be far more concerned about Greg Gregory being a member of the coaching staff. That guy has the taint of Brian Knorr on him. Nice guy, but we Bobcat fans suffered through Gregory's anemic offenses for far too long.
  19. Exactly. One of the more amusing aspects of this board for me is how amazingly optimistic everyone is. We play some REALLY good teams this year, folks. 6 wins would be a step in the right direction.
  20. This pretty much saves the MAC. Inexplicably, good teams like BGSU can't get anyone to go to their games (regardless of the fact that there IS NOTHING TO DO IN BOWLING GREEN, OHIO).
  21. I forgot two more, the Ginger Man locations in both Austin and Houston are hott
  22. 1. The CI, Athens 2. The Junction, Athens 3. The Pub, Athens there are others? :-) Okay, fine. 4. Bridget's (no longer exists), South Bend / Linebacker Lounge, South Bend 5. Hole in the Wall, Oxford, OH 6. The Heidelberg, Ann Arbor 7. Henry's, Lafayette, IN 8. The Vogue, Indianapolis (saw one of the best bands there, ever) 9. The Junction, Bowling Green, OH 10. Kilroy's, Bloomington, IN 11. R.P. McMurphy's, Cincinnati 12. Library Bar, Columbus yeah, i'm a drunk
  23. Holy Jesus. He looks like one of those perverts who go to Furry conventions.
  24. those 8oz rolling rocks are the best, i miss those.
  25. I guess the bigger reason I don't like Duemig is that he's a *bad broadcaster*. Now, Rome might be known for his dead air, but Duemig has about 3x the dead air Rome does, and then he'll come back and scream something. i understand why some of you guys like him, i guess having worked in radio most of my life i find him really abrasive. yet, given no other alternative, i listen anyway. funny how that works out.
