  1. Well, I admit that I don't get to hear much of Sileo, except for about the last half hour of his show. But Duemig is just a jerk, and one who can't even formulate logical arguments. How many times did he blame "bleeding heart liberals" who "wouldn't let the poor woman [schiavo] die in peace"? Hey, Steve, mix in a little of the newspaper to your daily diet and get a clue. Luckily someone finally called him on it and he gave some "you know what I meant" gibberish back. He's ripping on a caller now and claming he's being "civil." I wonder if Duemig even knows what that means.
  2. WDAE is one of the worst major market stations I've ever heard. Their cadre of broadcasters are truly despicable. Steve Duemig is particularly bad (is anyone listening to him right now!?) How Whitney Johnson is employed at all is beyond me. The only decent broadcaster on WDAE is Dan Sileo, and he's very, very good. Too bad he stuffed up in the morning when no one's listening. Darek Sharp is pretty good too, but he's hidden away. But Duemig is particularly horrible. His VO spots for the local Asian restaurants are simply racist.
  3. That's interesting. I didn't see that part. We don't have a lot of transfers at Ohio in football so I'm not familiar with that policy. I know that in basketball, players transfer among different schools in the same conference all the time.
  4. They're not, but there's no rule like that anyway.
  5. prepare for "with the first pick in the 2007 NFL draft... the tampa bay buccaneers select:" to be heard if that happens
  6. The major problem is that the rules for unloading university property are very strict and quite stupid. For the most part, property cannot be transferred to individuals, but can only be transferred to contracted businesses (who can then resell the items).
  7. oh, i disagree. i think the $8.50 beers at the trop are huge, and a good deal in comparison to other ballparks
  8. At least he drives the point that the game ought to be held on campus. Though I had a good time tailgating outside RayJay so, *shrug*
  9. sheesh. *****, *****, *****. You guys DO realize that beer isn't sold at most Division I arenas and stadiums, right?
  10. I'll be driving up from the VW fest in Bradenton. Is there an official Bull Backers tailgate? I really need to join. I guess I'll just wander around the parking lot unless someone steps in and suggests someone specific to look for :-) Or PM me and I'll give you a phone number or something. Should be a blast.
  11. I'll be there with... uh, probably myself. Anyone planning to tailgate, I'll bring the booze.
  12. Yeah, the graduation rates for the past five years (five-year grad rates) 53.12% 52.32% 49.92% 49.88% 49.8% 48.85% Of course, if they keep slipping, they might end up at 20% eventually... Still better than Louisville, their graduation rate is 34%. Easily the worst in the NBE
  13. 20 percent? that's ******* horrible. that can't be right, can it?
  14. I wonder if Ohio is back in the top ten party school list. We were there every year I attended
  15. I am, of course, partial to http://home.comcast.net/~phillymela/mp3/mac/Ohio__Stand_Up_and_Cheer.mp3
  16. Those statistics aren't really based on undergraduate anything. Research ratings come from grants, graduate degrees offered, et cetera. Frankly, I'm not very impressed with our undergrads as is (and I mean that as frankly as possible, not a slam in any way, just an objective evaluation based on the schools where I've taught and attended) so if they are going to increase enrollment by that much, you'd better believe standards will go down, somewhere.
  17. It's an important honor. I remember when Brandon Hunter finished the season #1 in the nation in rebounding, two years ago. That was pretty cool. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Mr. Leather.
  18. I will say this. Having spent the weekend in Nashville, having observed no fewer than eight pep bands, I can conclude that I am far too harsh on the Herd of Thunder. Frankly, compared to Ohio's, all the other bands are bland, boring, and play the SAME SONGS. THEY ALL PLAY THE SAME SONGS. And they don't have their music memorized, music pages flapping around and ****. What the hell is up with that? I was taking my Ohio 110 for granted. The HOT aren't any worse than Florida or New Mexico's bands.
  19. I cannot put my support behind things that remind me of Marshall. Marshall is the epitome of evil.
  20. And they were the fourth-best team left out of the tourney from the MAC... so look out for Miami, Kent, and Buffalo. We're pissed about only getting a single bid, so expect to see at least one of them in MSG.
  21. Set the tone! Beat the Gators Thursday, and we'll return the favor Friday!
  22. And in Nashville, so I don't even have to buy a plane ticket!!! Though the prospect of my green, Ohio-splattered Jetta sharing the road with those PROFANE ROGUES FROM GAINESVILLE all the way up I-75 does not strike me fancy. I hate Florida. I hate them SOOOOO MUCH. I have hated them a very long time, longer than I have even been here. Billy Donovan is a self-righteous little *****. HATE HATE HATE. I can't wait to bring it. Tickets on sale tomorrow at 11. Wish me luck. Hotel rooms are already reserved.
  23. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to USF for scheduling Spring Break during the first round of March Madness. I don't know if I'll have to fly to Boise, or Oklahoma, or Worcester, or wherever, but I'll be there. To the media who picked us to be last in the MAC: Haw-haw! To everybody else, I wish we could have pulled it out last night and given me two alma maters in the big dance, but this is Ohio's first trip since 1994, when I was still in high school, so ... i can't believe it. i really can't believe it.
