When you are the captain of the sinking ship and you are blissfully unaware of why your ship is sinking at some point it has to come down to you. I feel worse about USF athletics as a whole than I have ever felt and I do not think I am alone in this feeling, worse than that is there appears to be no rainbow at the end of this constant **** storm. I thought your curve was based on CBG's history of middling, do you now contend that it is due to a long history of hiring assistants accused of saying racist things and that you were factoring that in your analysis?

It’s still on brand by staying contrarian, I’m actually not typically a negative person I’ve just been institutionalized by the Usf athletics program and our systematic failure. Just win, how hard is that? 50 percent of teams manage to do it every game.

This is a wet dream for the daily stampede, they seem super excited to finally have a reason to cover something they are actually passionate about.

The good news is there was a time where the women’s program was completely decimated by Jerry Ann Winters with some strikingly similar issues. I believe the first time I had ever even heard of USF was on a real sports segment that addressed the claims which were national news. It would have been reasonable to expect that we would never recover the failing program and then we hired Jose Fernandez to take over for her.

I don’t care what the semantics are about what drove change all that I care about is that change occurred. CWT came in determined to follow his Harbaugh path into West Coast into turning us into the Stanford of the East. He continued to beat that drum following year two and then he has a change of heart. I know you think it was a giant rope a dope but I don’t understand how that creates any benefit or discounts his actual words and actions leading up to it.

Of all the coaches we have ever had I think CWT is the only one I have ever seen fundamentally change a philosophy, he is a unicorn in that regard and for that reason should be studied in graduate school coaching courses. Adapting can lead to lucrative pay days so I am not quite sure why so many coaches like to stick to their guns as they follow their inevitable path towards unemployment.

You would think with going the extra mile at least you would agree with me but it is almost as if effort and niceties do not actually matter and ultimately things only come down to what you end up producing. What if I take three years to refine my argument and get my words into place? Do you think that would make a difference?

If those fans are demanding with their wallets than it would be far less impacting than even that, ultimately fans do not determine much of what happens but sometime their dollars do.

I don’t understand how this is the one area in life where people pretend you go backwards in order to go forward and typical process improvement is not possible. If you fix actual issues culture will improve as well as winning but if you just say abstract things like I’m changing culture nothing will actually happen.

For home games when you can tailgate I hate Thursday night games but away games and no tailgating makes Thursday much less dreadful.

I really don’t take offense to anything on here as how serious can anything about college athletics be in the grand scheme of things? I just know how improvement works in every other facet of my life so I’m always confused why people think this is the one thing in life where you have to go backwards to go forward and improvements actually appear to be negative for years at a time until one day they magically become positive. You can’t make improvements to abstract things like culture, you find the most glaring actual issues and you address them and when you make positive improvements to the granular things people see the results, buy in and the culture naturally improves. People always want to come up with slogans and values that they post on the wall but unless you are actually being the change you want to see people just laugh at them and your culture continues to plummet. If anyone is a bad culture fit on a one win team they are probably the kind of players you actually need to develop a winning culture.

I’m sure I have some of my own in power points but they are only going to be marginally different. Agile, 6sigma and lean have a pretty good track record on making improvements and not taking three years to do so and that they are pervasive should only speak to their success. You observe your biggest problems, you implement the fixes to them you measure their improvements and then you make new improvements based on your new observations. If you are making improvements you should be able to observe it on any part of the path and if you are seeing negative results it’s because you made a change which =\= an improvement.
