  1. Exactly what I was thinking, it sounded more like Scarlett's which which usually gets you free lunch along with entertainment
  2. Mike? Yes conference expansion- why make things harder for yourself with conference expansion if nothing will ever come of it and you can actually crank out Natties by moving down to the lowest G5 conference you can find? They had 5 votes and that got them 1 out of 6, the power is now even more consolidated and that is expected to grow. They would not offer to exclude the G5 in which case then they would just break away and not bother talking to them about it they just will explain the number of spots they are willing to include which will not include them. The G5 has no leverage, less than zero, they can vote but if its against the wishes of the powerful they are voting to be relegated. There vote is entirely ceremonial, they have no power, they offer nothing and they need to powerful while the powerful have no need for them. Find me anyone writing about the G5 keeping any guaranteed spot and I will find you 100 talking about how they will get nothing and like it. He has obviously rebranded
  3. They aren't going to offer to exclude them just not auto include them and since that is better than any other offer the G5 will be getting and they don't want to lose out entirely they will take it with a smile on their faces, college football could not be any more obviously consolidating and becoming less equitable and pretty much everyone sees it this way. What exactly do you think expansion is about? But in a more inclusive way, obviously
  4. Almost makes me miss Skippy, I thought the fans were going to storm the field and fire Dabo themselves, not a popular guy at that point.
  5. They already didnt have the votes and they already got an unequitable share, the P4 is making it abundantly clear that they have no issue walking away from the G5 and I am sure if anyone would not like to move with the B10 and the SEC they would be more than happy to go on without them and leave them to die with the rest of the left behinds while taking the only portions of value from them. It really is quite simple and if anyone is pretending to not get it or to think the G5 holds any power it would have to be anyone coming from your perspective.
  6. Yes they were. Them taking one of four spots isnt an issue when there is no longer 4 spots People think they are good people and they would be fine sharing if they just had more Then it they get more and recognize they need it and the other people arent doing enough to get the shared amount so it isnt about gaining 7 spots its about losing 1 to the underserving under achieving little **** moochers
  7. Kind of but this expansion solves for that problem, the next vote solves for why would a barely top 20 team that no one knows exist leapfrog 7 of our teams for no reason. The illusion of access is good, actual access becomes a problem that needs fixed because at the end of the day you don't make things much harder for yourself to then give away a chance to someone you see as having a ridiculously easier path when there is no compelling reason for you to do so.
  8. Yes robbing the people you just robbed is a much stickier wicket, stop giving the g5 as much charity not so much
  9. I mean they were newspaper paragraphs, which really don't count
  10. you honestly don't have a clue. Yes I have not clue where your thought process is coming from the 2nd article stated sec commissioner wanted to go to top 12 ranked . he said nobody agreed with him. The part where it says this at best expected to last two years. Care to bet how a new vote would go or one after someone gets left out so that a G5 team could get blown out? heck they couldn't even get it changed to top 5 instead of top 6 conference champs for next 2 years. That had more to do with PAC mess than anything else you do realize the rules are made by the management committee which includes ALL of the g5 commissioners, right? Yes, they bring no value and no one cares if they have to reorganize to get rid of their votes when they voted somehow it didnt end up every conference champion plus 2 and many people had to vote against what would theoretically be their own self interest, why? there are now 10 voting members. 5 of those are from g5 conferences. we are no longer part of the minority. They already werent the minority, no one cared when it was 5 to 5 and they wont care at any voting distribution because only certain people matter the rules aren't made by sec and big 10 commissioners alone. For the most part they absolutely will as a go forward at this point I honestly believe you are just trolling. you can't be this oblivious. You seem to be confused about there being a P6 and a G5 (and not that it was actually P5 and G5) by being the only person on earth that bought that marketing but noted
  11. The second article says exactly what I said and yes they can do whatever they like because they hold every card and every G5 member knows they are being done a favor by even being allowed to put the distinction on their CV. The G5 can lose everything with not taking any bone the P4 throws them and the P4 loses nothing by telling the G5 to get lost. If you want to be diplomatic you make more favorable terms to appeal to the bottom conferences that have no allusion getting in and that is a lot better than the Nothing they would get from getting kicked to the curb by following any ridiculous plan proposed by the middle. That half the conferences got 5 spots and half the conferences got 1 should make it clear that even if all votes were created equal it was clear to everyone in the room that some votes are more equal than others.
  12. The agreement to have it this way is only for two years, they tried to modify it already and believe they will after the first time it takes place. The most it will last is two years but even that is very unlikely. The cap on the risk and loss on a NY6 game vs a spot in the playoffs is marginal vs exponential, no one is going to stay giving that up especially when it is so simple as they can just let it lapse and not give it again.
  13. You can have people tell you until your hear is content www.warchant.com
  14. I didn't put on a yellow dress and carry this white umbrella for nothing.
  15. I find it helpful to think about the things you like doing with the money also I think its not lying when everyone knows its a lie, I like to think of it as polite society, Like telling people its nice to see them, their outfit is flattering, you like their haircut, did they lose weight, their question isn't stupid, they aren't getting downsized, no one got bonus, everyone is cutting back, they weren't accidentally invited, of course you remember them... It's polite to say college sports are about education and you get paid handsomely to say it and so you say it or someone else does, same as it ever was...
  16. You will not get it until it happens for the first time which is why we agreed to move on until the first G5 team actually makes it into the playoff in the name of fairness which will be immediately followed by a necessary rules change and the last G5 team making it into the playoff in the name of fairness. It was deemed necessary to get to that number concessions had to be made, once the number is set it will then be necessary to remove the concessions. I cannot explain it to you because you do not want to understand it, so we will wait for you to be shocked which I imagine happens fairly regularly.
  17. If you actually have moral objections you can handcuff your member on who they can take money from, just like how parties are handcuffed on contributions. So the SEC would be able to say that no team can take money from any person or business that is giving X or more dollars in NIL contracts but they do not care about it like that, they care that other teams may actually take one of their players or one that they want and that is where a line has to be drawn.
  18. No that is the very small insignificant minority view, you see it as taking away because you know the G5 probably should lose it (which sounds pretty pessimistic). The overall view is that everyone is gaining something in that everyone regardless of conference affiliation still has the exact same chances of making it into the playoffs just as long as they show the committee they are the best teams (that sounds optimistic). Why should the rich and powerful playing the toughest schedules be punished for their success that doesn't sound very fair, doe is? Does anyone really want in because of pity and technicalities just to get embarrassed when they can actually earn it and have things be fair?
  19. It isn't pessimistic and I do not think it is working out for the worst, I just think people looking at it that way are looking at it from the wrong perspective of where it is designed to be looked at from.
  20. Lucky players grow up dreaming of becoming Bulls though, otherwise imagine where we would be.
  21. I thought we were shelfing this conversation until it happens for the first time, at which point I fully expect you to be shocked by the idea that they could possibly do this...again. 68 teams does not equal 12 and 5 on 5 does not equal 11 on 11 especially when most people do not play iron man and its actually closer to at least 25 vs 25 from a fielding perspective. Cinderella story runs are from survivorship bias based on volume. Most Cinderella hopefuls are back to scrubbing floors 1 minute into the tournament on games no one noticed because 10 or them are going on at the same time.
  22. The action wasn’t to expand the playoffs to the g5 it was to expand the playoffs. The G5 part makes an argument for the size of the expansion and appeals to fairness. The G5 part was important to fairness because it requires more from athletes and if its just the P5 they already settled it in the season and in the conference championship. The same fairness argument will then be used to remove the G5 because they aren’t qualified and it’s unfair to those that are qualified. The G5 isn’t losing anything it’s just making it fair for everyone and every year the G5 has top 12 teams they will still get in.
