1. I don't know how to break this to you, but our basketball has been much more of a TV draw than the "lamest BCS football conference" over the past 5-6 years.
2. Hey.....it wouldn't be a true Bullspen thread if it didn't change topics! :D :D :D
3. work ethic is more important than level of education. finishing college is a sign of a good work ethic. cause and effect. having a degree doesn't mean you will be more successful but getting that degree could mean you have the work ethic to be more successful. of course a study that says you had the ability and work ethic enough to finish a higher level of education will show you earn more over the long term. it's a result of your work ethic. not your college degree. Yes, the thing a college degree does in the eyes of an employer, it shows you are capable of delayed gratification. A trait not to be taken lightly, the majority of people now days don't possess it. If you are going to hire someone and train them, it means a lot to know they won't jump ship in two months because they're bored or haven't already earned enough for that shiny new sports car. And yes, Greg is correct. Even if Scott only makes a practice squad for a couple seasons, he'll earn plenty to pay for school. Although with prices as low as they are, I would still advise him to save up and pay cash for a modest house or condo. Nothing like starting out in life knowing you always have a home and never having to make a mortgage payment!
4. Actually the overwhelming majority of self made millionaires never graduated from college. College gets you a job. Being the one who hires is much more lucrative. Anyway, I hope scott makes it as I certainly have nothing against leaving school early. I just don't think HE was ready?
5. I don't have a degree ( got a job offer my senior year,) I live in Channelside. My nephew doesn't have a degree, he has a 3900 sq ft house, 4 car garage with a jag & bmw. My niece doesn't have a degree, she owns a chain of salons and lives in Malibu. My best friend was just in town, he has a Masters degree, he lives in a double wide. Great guy, but I wouldn't trade incomes with him. Everybody doesn't have to have a degree! Some of us actually employ you educated bastards! hehe
6. I would hope he does something better than that like buy a house or something. You gotta remember, not everyone is cut out for education!
7. Not true at all. If he got some of the carries that Murray and BJ got, he would have had Andre Hall numbers. He averaged 5.3 yards per carry (Btw, better than Hall's 5.1 his senior year) on 153 attempts for over 800 yards and 5 TDs. That puts him at #85 on the list of RBs in total yards, which sounds low, but again, consider he was splitting carries with Murray (only avg 4.2 yards per carry for 503 yards) and BJ (4.6 yards per carry, 601 yards). Also for comparison, the RB the Bucs just drafted from Boise St, he only averaged 4.9 yards per carry. He gained a lot of that against FAMU and the other two nobodies we played early. If he was really so great, he would have gotten the ball instead of Murray.
8. Scott didn't even have anything close to a good year with us. Why would he think anyone would pick him based on his performance?
9. This is FUNNY. Everything this ucf fan talked about, came true (in reverse) After our announced series with Miami, this old letter (4 years) will tell you how FAR USF has moved. © St. Petersburg Times published February 23, 2003 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- USF, it's simple: You are scared to play UCF I am writing to let you know my thoughts on USF. As everyone knows, USF's athletic department continues to avoid a UCF-USF football series for whatever reason they can concoct at the time. As a proud UCF supporter/alumni, nothing sickens me worse than seeing (USF athletic director) Lee Roy Selmon and crew continue to put off the inevitable and natural rivalry between the two schools. USF continues to claim it wants to be part of the "Big Three" schools, yet joins a conference that is hardly the SEC, ACC or Big East. Fact is, if USF wants to be seen as the next FSU, UF or UM, it should have stayed independent until the time came to join a "Big Three" conference. As it stands, UCF's MAC conference dominated USF's Conference USA this year in football. USF fans/alumni continue to convince themselves they want to be the next UF, FSU or UM, but those schools have played or will play UCF. UM has actually inked a 2-for-1 with UCF this year. If those schools schedule UCF, why not USF? I believe the real reason is fear. My analogy is the bully who talks and talks and talks, but when the day comes to settle the score, the bully is nowhere to be found. The sad realization that UCF would beat USF is just too much for ol' Lee Roy and crew to take. I would relish a game with USF if nothing more than to knock Lee Roy Selmon and crew off their proverbial high horse. -- Chad Hinson, Orlando
10. Yes she is younger and pretty nice looking. I knew they were building a new house together on Harbour Island last year, so figured this news would be forthcoming a little sooner than this.
11. Personally, I'm more concerned about his article on our QB situation.
12. I understand your thinking Apis, and allow for your position.  I guess I am just still steaming for what occurred a while back.  What is the expression.....Hell hath no fury as woman......."  LOL  I guess like the Elephant, I don't forget. What I do know, however, is that there are a lot of great people who post here, and to them I say Bull Nation is what it is because of them. GO BULLS!!!!!!! I totally agree!  Like I stated in my post at the top of this thread, "HowieP should forgive" ... afterall, how long does one hold a grudge to 3-4% of people on a stupid msg board when the other 96-97% want him around? Maybe he needs to be the bigger man..........right now he isn't, IMO.
13. We did. They changed it to black because it supposedly shows up better on TV.
14. I understand as well. He was brutally attacked (not by me) a while back. But, having said that, just about all of those involved have apologized (repeatedly) It's time for HowieP to forgive & rejoin his Bull Brethren!!!
15. Sounds like an oxymoron to me... You haven't seen my wife... ;-) Yeah actually Matt does have a pretty hot wife! Don't know how HE got her? Maybe the clue is in his screen name...... ;D
16. I expect Gransberry and maybe even a couple of others have some shot at the NBA. Kind of ironic, if it happens, RMC will have put more players in the NBA than all previous coaches combined.
17. Good points, also need to develop 2-3 solid RB's.  Mike Ford plus at least one more (Planchar?) We're not exactly deep at QB either. BTW - that writer obvious went to an ACC school.
18. One can dream of a coach like that! Actually, hasn't he underachieved? Someone said it should be easy to recruit for UF, well I can't see it being even as difficult @ Ky?
19. I've seen her national championship! Girls or boys, getting to that level requires something special!
20. if it happens, my wife actually came up with an interesting idea. Since UF just fired Women's Coach Carolyn Peck, USF should think outside the box. Offer her the chance to become the first female to coach a male program (at a major BCS school.) 1. guys will want to come play for her.......she's HOT! 2. It would create a major buzz about USF BB, incresing attendance. 3. She's a good coach. 4. see # 1
