EXACTLY! You're all presuming Leavitt is guilty without a trial, or for that matter, ANY REAL evidence! If someone goes on tv tonight and says they saw any of you fondling little people, will that make it true? USF did not act with class last time we had a coach that plateaued. Rather, we found a trumped-up excuse to fire him. This time Woolard manned up, fired him outright, and took responsibility for the decision. Sorry, it seemed you were saying Holtz took it with class, but Leavitt didn't.

You sound like a UCF fan. All that talk about how special you were or how close you were is complete BS. USF, like every other "mid Major" never had a chance. This is a game of kiss ass between old money programs and programs with "national TV appeal" and ESPN. This is the good old boys protecting their own and holding onto the purse strings. If the system had stayed the same you might have broken into the club, but they fixed that to keep you out. No level playing field for new programs. Boise kicked butt for years and are still ranked, they scared a lot of programs and beat some good ones, yet they sit on the outside looking in. It is not about signature wins, conference championships or any other on field accomplishments. It is about holding onto the money and the perception of money. USF just has not been around long enough to have garnered that attention. Now if the big conferences get desperate for that last addition to round the numbers off, USF by virtue of its Big East affiliation will be in line. Never thought I'd like a post from a ucf fan (lol) but you're spot on! Nobody outside of Tampa and even most inside could care less about watching USF! On the other hand, people in Rhode Island or wherever will watch the gators or bama, etc, etc.

We are not even at a point where high school seniors have grown up always having USF football. To me, this just shows how well the previous coach was actually doing! Too bad we didn't appreciate it!

On another note, I noticed J Williams wasn't on the field for the Giants against Dallas. Is he hurt?

I am not going to call out supid ass crap to bash the guy, no. He obviously was listening to the official, the man next to his right ear whose mouth was moving. I mean come on. If any coach looked like a jerk, it was the one on the other sideline whining and saying F that, as he mooped up and down the field. So the coach that looked like a jerk would the winning coach? In my book he did. Didn't he to you? He spent more time talking to the refs the second half than to his team. The rest of the time he was ******** and moaning. He won! I'd rather have our crazy looking head butting winning coach than the calm, confused guy we have now!

That's because he was trying (with a VERY limited budget, facilities, etc, etc,) to build a football team not a group of scholars. Is anybody happy watching a bunch of graduates lose?

We were in the top 3-4 of the Big East and that got the last coach fired because everyone thought we should be the top team! Well, during Leavitt's tenure, USF tied for 3rd place in the Big East only in 2005 and 2007. That's not really what I meant as competitively in the top-3 on a season-to-season basis. There's no doubt that the guy bled green and gold, but I think his teams really plateaued in the Big East. Leavitt was a victim of his own success. He built us out of nothing so fast, everybody got impatient when we hit the BCS. Truth is, we just had a coach making us look better than we really were. Now we see what we are with a regular coach. Listen to your 10th anniversary DVD where they say "nobody's ever done it faster and nobody probably ever will."

While I totally agree, you know that there are some on here who still poo poo those bowls, right? Those poo poo bowls look pretty good now. Everyone thought Leavitt should be winning BCS conference titles with a 10 year old program. Apparently it's not as easy as he made it look?

Other threads are talking about how we can't afford to fire a lame coach because we don't have a big budget and then here you talk about spending big bucks we REALLY DON'T have to build something we REALLY DON'T need? Get a grip on reality!
