  1. http://sports.tboblogs.com/index.php/sports/comments/why_not_the_same_success/ (93) Comments Man has that discussion deteriorated. 93 replies, I wonder how many pages of posts that equals.
  2. I was there and there was a decent turnout. USF fans outnumbered ND fans, but it was close. USF fans were also divided lower box seats and upper level seats. (CJL was there) Nothing ever really got going as far as cheers went. If you listened, you probably heard me yelling at the first base umpire who was just trerrible.
  3. I think the new attention and pressure on the baseball program will bring a lot with it. Whether a change is made or not I think you will see a new committment to USF baseball. At this point the program is an embarrassment. A new coach worth anything will demand upgrades. That is half the point, EC should have been pushing LOUDLY for upgrades. I personally have never heard a peep from him. Where were the public meetings encouraging support? Where were the fundraisers? Change or not, I pledge that I will help the baseball program get back on track in anyway that I can. Im sure we can get at least 20 people on board here in the next 72 hours. What could we do in the next 21 years? I'll start by vowing to buy a "Flex Pass*" ($100) to baseball if they make a head coaching change. I will also donate those tickets to USF to sell or donate as they see fit. ______________________________________________ *I started with a baseball season ticket but as they have none I had to change it to the "FLEX PASS."
  4. That is (was in another thread) my pick, but I hear he is not eager to move from UT. I think if Bill Mathews is the best they can do, youvmay as well stick with EC. There should be a nationwide search for a young, go getter with an electric personality and some MLB ties/history because those are the guys that can recruit and build a program.
  5. Many of his friends (people who have known him since childhood) told me yesterday that he believes that he is all but gone. Also heard that the most likely replacement is . . . . I AM VERY EXCITED
  6. A great story and a stratagey for winning!! All we have to do is have all the guys go back and get coached on technique/fundamentals by thier fathers/HS coaches/Ex MLB players whatever is most applicable. I wonder if EC blew up when Ryan Lau "coached" a fellow player. Oh, it wasn't his son being coached so its ok.
  7. He is making a point. WWW knows more than anyone howm much the Red needs "help".
  8. I would like to nominate a candidate for the worst product research ever: http://www.bevnet.com/reviews/jonesjuice/
  9. Great job Bulls! Get in and anything can happen.
  10. That is great. It reminds me of the Blues Brothers: "Use of unnecessary violence in the apprehension of the Blues Brothers has been approved." You forgot to add the obligitory "Robert McCullum sucks!!" BTW: This signing Rocks!!
  11. Look, if Kevin Costner can get the Black Sox to play in a corn field we should at least be able to get together a team that could beat the Terriers of Hillsborough High.
  12. You may have until after lunchtime. Hijackers usually feed first then attack.
  13. No, but it is a thread about a positive signing. A "Good Thing" if you will and the boo birds are out poo-pooing all over it. I hope the wives do the same thing to them at home. "Honey, I got you some flowers." "Just great. Too bad you sucked last night in the sack." "I got a raise." "You still make less money than Derek Jeter." "You look lovely tonight." "Wish I could say the same." Who am I kidding with those attitudes what are the chances they will get a raise, compliment the wife or get laid?
  14. These guys are amazing. Nothing will make them happy. If CRM walked on water they would curse him for showing off.
  15. I know that crack was facetious, but the fact remains that the Ole Red is scheduled to be retired. We need a foaming at the mouth, recruiting machine to get the right players on the field. When CJL didn't like the trailers he did something about it and elevated the entire athletic dept with him. EC has had 21 years man. TWENTY ONE FREAKEN YEARS. All he has done was ride the momentum he built up in the Sun Belt and Metro conferences into the ground. Statistically he is at the bottom. Morale is at the bottom of the barrell and his credibilty is just above mine around here, AND THAT AINT GOOD. To quote Sam Cooke "It's been a long time coming, but I know a change is gonna come"
  16. I think the bigger point we arer trying to make is that EC has never had a fundraiser (to my knowledge) to build a new stadium or get new equipment. he has never traveled around the state, living out of his car selling the dream of playing Bull baseball. Never made the rounds at alumni chapters drumming up support/money for the program. In short, he is not the man for this job because that may be what it will take. A change will demand an increase in staff spending and will accelerate the timetable for new baseball digs. Question: Why do we need a 9,000 seat state of the art stadium when the average attendance is what 50? I think this stadium will accomadate 50 people.
  17. I LOVE THIS MOVE!! Reggie Kohn will be a success, at anything he wants to do. I am overjoyed that he has chosen top come back to USF and be part of builing this program. Its probably a longshot, but who is better at taking and making Loooooooooong shots than Reggie Kohn? My personal message to Reggie:
  18. Thank you for being the well informed, reasonable and well spoken leader of this thread . . . . .
  19. Great story!! Its clear that Brett gave EC every chance to come off well in the story and its just as clear that EC has lost the team and should lose his job. When USF moved in C-USA, EC moved out of his competency level (Metro/Sun Belt) and has had almost no success taking the next step. I would like to say he would be a great coach at that level again. How about coaching the Ospreys? Im all for it. I am also sick of hearing about that "decrepit baseball stadium" and it being used as an excuse. I think its clear that CJL all but BUILT his practice facuility and that "sparkling 2-year-old, $15 million athletic facility" that Brett has Wollard gazing out. EC has had 21 years, what has he built besides quickly fading program and an established culture of complacancy? If his contract is extended I will consider it an indictment of the whole athletic administration.
  20. Well that sucks, now lets see if we can move from "Type B" to "Type A" with a big Goodbye to complacency.
  21. Easiest nomination ever: Joe Urso- Head Baseball Coach University of Tampa Mr Wollard, you can contact him at JUrso@ut.edu or 813-253-6240-ext. 3488 If USF cannot beat out UT for a coach then they have no business in the Big East and should just make EC contract a lifetime, tenured position.
