  1. Super. That was one hell of a "nationwide search." We are trading a 1972 Pinto for a 1974 Gremlin. Identical twins and we got the "pretty one" . . . . Now which one is EC and which one is LP?
  2. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o HOLY FLURKINGSMIDT!! I HAD NO IDEA!! BRING HIM BACK!!
  3. I got just the guy: Coach Lou Brown He is a master motivator and has a neat voice too.
  4. Brett McMurphy rocks. After Sharron Ginn left the USF beat, he was the only one we could turn to for USF info. He has always done a great job dispite The Times being the official paper. I love the way people immediately turn the conversation about the story into personal attacks. Having said that I'd like to add: Yo mama so nasty that pours salt water down her pants to keep her crabs fresh.
  5. Great one. Ari, your right they need more money. Join me in buying a flex pass just to support baseball. Lead by example.
  6. Don't know if anyone saw this so I'll post it. They deserve all the pub they get.
  7. Thats not a bad temoprary fix. USF Bayboro is 1 mile from Al Lang. Al Lang is sitting empty. Play some games there and take recruits there . . . . its got a great view.
  8. Alrighty then, this is the best $100 I'll spend this year. Anyone else interested in joining me showing support for USF baseball and the coaching change? Anyone at USF wanna handle this donation?
  9. I love that my guy is actually getting a mention. Thanks Greg!
  10. Is Wenesday, I figured it would happen today. Great way to let him go out with some class DW.
  11. Disclaimer: I may have been wrapping up a Memorial Day adult beverage fest when I posted my last message. I do think that there is an opportunity to rally the masses to support USF. Even with a grassroots internet cmapaign. Low cost, high potential. Selling jerseys/merchandise is one way to start. Look how Howard Dean raised money, sure he threw it away with his exuberence but he had it through grass roots small support. Just as I have railed that Cardieri never sold the dream, I don't think that there has been much of an effort to sell the athletic dream to the USF alumni/students. Get the greeks to use the merchandise sales as a way to raise money themselves. Offer them temporary prefered seating areas at the SunDome/RayJay for raising the most money. Use the Sundome to throw concert fundraisers. Its an existing resource, solicite local bands and throw a student oriented event. I know that there are limitations and cash flow issues but I would run the athletic department like a small business, fighting for every dollar I could get. It seems that we take the "high road" and wind up crying poor. Just think how we could lower the price of jerseys if we bought 10,000 I would guarantee you are right and I would also guarantee that they haven't been asked either. That or they may still be bitter for getting the screws put to them after supporting the football program from day one and then getting the screws put to them when they missed a step.
  12. Ok, I appreciate the comments. I will reserve my nickle and dime ideas and my nickle and dime donations. The thing that I believe you guys miss out on is that by creating a community effort you also create interest in the project at every level. Its ok to go after 16,000 people for donations, but don't be surprised when you only have 16,000 season ticket holders (football after 10 years now) or 16,000 people give a crap about the program. Yeah what is $50 net profit (x 10,000 (1/1000 of students and alumni) = $500,000 or 1/6 your need), a new USF "shareholder" and a walking billboard worth. Its just another nickle and dime idiot who gives a crap anyway. Go knock on Stienbrenners door (again) and he will probably donate, buy 8 tickets and let them sit fallow for eternity while the students get moved further and further back from the action. Be sure to save him a spot outside the park (SunDome) in the event that he does choose to grace us with his precence. Me I will just wait quietly for another 5-10 years until one of those big fish need another tax shelter and want you off their back. BTW: Congratulations I hear the athletic auction turned out well.
  13. Wow, without even asking they got $200. Imagine if they asked.
  14. Those are sweet shoes . . . Don't write off duel use facilities so quickly. If we wanted people from Tampa to come out all we would have to do is get the New York Yankee Stadium replica. http://www.bigleaguedreams.com/ Note: As always, all Yankee fans are jackoffs. Seriously, I really think (do not know) thats its possible to have a first class field that can accomidate both the softball and baseball teams. It would be a DEEP infield for the ladies but I hear they like it deep anyway.
  15. It's only 60 days until football camp, the basketball team still has a bullseye on its back and baseball should have a coaching search in a few days. I think there is enough going on to stave off canibalism for a little while. Then again we do have an arrogant, narcissistic, pessimist suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder stirring things up. With any luck he will end up tearing himself apart before football season gets here . . . .
  16. Heres a Mountaineer fan from their game with Notre Dame . . . .
  17. How much is hosting a Big East tournament on campus worth? How big would the stadium have to be to win that honor? It would be worthy of some big sponsorship dollars or maybe naming rights . . . Like Red McEwen Field at Lee Roy Selmons Park.
  18. $3m is not outrageous but I think a duel use baseball/softball stadium is what is needed. Why not sell a USF baseball jerseys for $100 with proceeds going to a new stadium. I would buy one. Baseball jerseys are always in style and one with a cause would sell, especially if the team/coach and some "appropriately" dressed SunDolls pushed it. Maybe a tagline on a patch that said "USF Baseball: I Pitched In" and a ticket to a game thrown in could seal some sales. Oh I forgot USF doesn't do official jerseys or fundraisers.
  19. I said it first and I think my earlier statement stands.
  20. <find Ari_Hinkelberger response options> <insert alternate Minotaur response>
  21. Make it fun and they will come. You don't even have to win, just be competitive (as we were) and create a fun student atmosphere. The alumni will follow.
  22. Wednesday. He has his meeting with DW on Wednesday. I aint jinxing it by asking.
  23. Only 10 years in and they have managed to offer us wallpaper (an almost free, alumni desired marketing device). I can't wait to se what the next 10 years brings. hell Im just glad I don't have to make it anymore.
