  1. Since you are Bulls, you will start with 100 points. Have you rooted for the Noles/Canes/Bastard Gators since USF has had football? Yes...a fan of Miami. (Subtract 10 points) Do you own Noles/Canes/Bastard Gators' paraphernalia (also known as 'garbage')? Yes...a FSU fan long before USF had a team (Subtract 10 points) Do you feel a deep hurt when we lose a football/basketball/baseball game (other sports also count)? Yes. When we recruit players, do you get emotionally attached to the outcome? No...key word 'recruit'. (If "No", subtract 10 points.) Have you attended, transferred, or applied to another university since you were a Bull? No...one stint in college is enough. Will you call in sick / cancel a hot date/ abandon something pretty important (like your anniversary) to watch/attend a major USF sporting event? No...I generally schedule around sporting events. (If "No", subtract 10 points.) If for some ungodly reason USF Athletics were shut down completely, would you cry for days and days? Yes. When USF got football, did you hop/jump around like a little kid upon hearing the news? Yes. If you had a choice to choose between a USF alumnus or your non-USF relative for employment, would you choose the Bull? No...I've met some incredibly 'mentally challenged' Bulls and some very bright folks from Notre Dame, Duke and UNCC. (If "No", subtract 10 points.) Would you let your child attend another university? Yes...Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford or USF... (If "Yes", hit yourself on the head and subtract 10 points.) Would you let your child attend Bastard Gator U? Sure...UF is a pretty good school. (If "Yes", poke yourself in the eye and subtract 25 points! ================ Hmmm...looks like I got a 15! 8)
  2. 6/10...yeah, screw this man, I'm changing my major, that test is nothing but a 'gate keeper'...where's drop/add anyway.
  3. I'm gonna get MGM on the other line...see what we can do about getting Tommy Lee Jones in as CJL...but I'm gonna have to push for Kevin Spacey to play the part of ET. Sorry, ET...it's that SAG card issue again, but keep up the work on the screenplays... 8)
  4. I dunno...eating it just doesn't seem right.... Oh...I'm sorry...you said Pitt Panthers. Nevermind.
  5. South Carolina is it for me this year. Obviously, 234 X 10-13 will be ocupado, amigo!
  6. The reason it can't be televised Saturday night is because ESPN is looking to fill the Labor Day afternoon time slot. It ain't about televising the mighty USF Bulls and Pitt Panthers...it's about ESPN making a decision as to where/how they can garner the most viewers. I don't see a 10K drop in attendance by moving to Monday afternoon. A day off is a day off. Doesn't matter if it's Saturday or Monday. Anyone waffling on Monday between going to the beach/picnic and going to the game, would probably waffle on Saturday night between a great weekend party/night out and the game as well. It's Pitt. At RayJ. How long has this game been talked about? How long have we looked forward to this game? Un uh...moving the game to Monday is not a tragedy of monumental proportion. 8)
  7. To be a student again? Hmmm...I'd have to say no. I did it when I was 30, so my "college experience" is considerably different than that of an 18 year old. For me, it was truly, "Drive Thru U". Treated it like I would a day at the office: come in, get your work done, go home. Maybe, had I done it the 18-21 route, I'd feel differently. However, talking to other alums, USF is more appealing now than it was "back when dinosaurs ruled the earth".
  8. At the beginning of the season I figured we'd lose to 'Bama, TCU, SoMiss and had L'ville @ 50/50. The UAB game just bit me when I wasn't looking. At that point in time I figured we'd win against UAB and was hoping we didn't screw up and lose the last game of the season to Memphis. Unfortunately...
  9. ...this has something to do with baseball. Apparently, there are people out there who follow the sport with considerable enthusiasm.
  10. So I can get me some tube time! Yes indeed sportsfans, if this is the college game on ESPN, no reason not to do it! Exactly how do you figure it's not about money? We don't put games on TV for altruistic reasons. It is - and will always be - ... all about the Benjamins. 8)
  11. Mike just sent me your info, so you're in the database and on the mailing list.
  12. Don't really know. As Julmiste is tagged as a starter, today it looked like Kraky/Banks duking it out for the #2 spot. Then again...all it takes is a wrecked knee or ripped shoulder, and all of a sudden #2 or #3 is now your starter. I just didn't see anything today that set the world on fire. 8)
  13. Assuming that the spring game is a measure of what we can expect this fall, this could be a long - albeit not necessarily losing - season for the Bulls. I did not see any QB performance that really stood out as a relief from what we endured last year. As for attendance, I would attribute that to two things: 1] Easter weekend and 2] poor marketing on this side of the spit. While I appreciate the Times effort to sponsor the game, I don't think I saw anything in the Trib, nor did I hear anything on the radio this week. The tailgate went well...got to put some names and faces together, and thanks to everyone who showed up and made it a good time. This was a good practice run for the fall! I would assume "Pulitzer" will be floating some shots our way soon...sidelining it with J.R. Reed & Huey Whittaker. 8)
  14. Given the way games get shuffled around for TV, in particular as applicable to USF, I would hold off on making the reservations until as close to game day as possible. Would that not also get one off the hook in the event of an emergency and you're not able to travel?
  15. We were thinking more along the lines of a "Caligula meets Animal House" road trip.
  16. The Times is sponsoring the game so I imagine that weighed into consideration as well. (Oh yeah...as opposed to having a sports venue in TAMPA named for St. Petersburg... ) Didn't Hopps sponsor the game last year?
  17. There was a big ad in yesterday's St. Pete Times (for some bizzare reason, they've been landing in my driveway for the past week). I thought about going over there, but decided against it.
  18. I voted no, so if you want to shoot...take aim. I don't believe a printed magazine has anything over what's available on the web. I believe it went belly-up over finances anyway, but with the advent of the www...you'd have to have a serious pent up demand for print media to cost justify ink-n-paper again. You may want to cough up $65 for what is, in reality, a hardcopy of what's available on the web, but I'd bet you're in the minority. BTW: I subscribed for a few years before it passed away.
  19. 18" pecs w/48" 'guns' would pretty much relegate him to looking like Popeye...which is not at all what I recall him looking like..
  20. It's part of our new and improved "don't ask - don't tell" policy.
  21. I attended USF from '92-'94, but never attended one sporting event.  My interest in - and donations to - USF athletics began with the advent of football.  I have since joined the atheltic association, continue to purchase football season tix and attend a few basketball & baseball games per year. If USF had never gone the football route, I doubt I'd have ever even developed a marginal interest in hoops/baseball.
  22. Same here...I'll just change the date 8)
