  1. The Bulls - assuming a likely win - will benefit more than Pitt. Not that timing has anything to do with it, but the fact that it will be one more, and quite possibly critical, win. As for Pitt...it's just another game for them.
  2. Soooo...do you think when we shift conferences that all these home games will be televised? Memphis & Pitt...bigger draws than Southern Miss? I don't know...the push on Army is that it's homecoming. I don't know what the magic formula is to get the lower bowl to sell out.
  3. That's it in a nutshell. Back when we were a 1A team masquerading as IAA, we could afford to rack up the penalty yardage and still win...because we were that much better than the opposition. Now, however, the competition is much more improved and we no longer enjoy the luxury we once had, of being able to win in spite of penalty yardage. 8)
  4. There was one thread (see 'IF you don't like speculation...) about usf going 10-1, undefeated in CUSA and on to a bowl... however, that needs to be revisited. http://www.thebullspen.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1096563207 First, hanging 89 points on the board at TCU tells you something about both TCU and USF. We lost to Southern Miss, which was not entirely unexpected, and TCU nearly lost to Army. The TCU low-score close win over Army is much more alarming than us actually losing to Southern Miss. Fortunately, we have Army & ECU here at RayJ, and unfortunately we have L'ville & UAB on the road. I don't know what to think of Memphis & Cincy. Personally, I wouldn't hoard vacation days in hopes of a bowl game this year. 8)
  5. According to gousfbulls.com, that would be....A.J.Brant
  6. Depends on who "we" is and what 'we' want to do.
  7. Ok...one last chance...what is the relationship between a "cog" and a "latter" (I'm spotting you ten points on the assumption that you really mean "ladder") Here's what you meant to say "you are just another rung on the ladder". I agree that it's not much fun talking trash when you have to explain everything, but it's also not much fun when you have to decrypt a post. Comprende, Jethro?
  8. Well...you gotta figure that fine folks at Florida Tech aren't really blessed with a lot to cheer about.  As far as a chant goes, maybe they'd like something like this: With both hands open, slap to both sides of the forehead and chant over and over: "Oh God! Not Again!, Oh God! Not Again!" ...keep that up for, oh...I dunno...maybe a whole game. Hey! Make it a contest...see if you can do it for a whole season!
  9. Well...these guys don't just make it up as they go along. The decision of what to carry is strictly a numbers function...what will the maximum amount of listeners tune into and how can I sell that time to advertisers? There are a lot more Nole & Gator (to a lesser extent, 'Cane) fans in Tampa than there are Bulls fans. We average about +/-20K per home game, so that alone makes a statement of interest. There isn't a pent up demand for Bulls football that warrants selling the advertising time to foot the bill. While there may be a handfull of us (board rats) who live and die by the Bulls, we are not - by any stretch of the imagination - the lead dog in this community. I know that there has been some sort of disconnect between DAE & USF going back many years (prior to our time with 1010).
  10. 1. No...It's scientifically impossible to win an infomercial. The decision was made long ago, and November 2nd is just a formality. 2. A pair of Nipponese imports. 3. Wrestling 4. A Beagle named Daisy 5. The entire soundtrack to "Full Metal Jacket".
  11. ...Then all you have to do is come up with a better one, until then...it's just gonna grow!
  12. It get bigger every week...you can't resist...you must succumb to the chant! 8)
  13. What amazes me is the lack of parental / coaching oversight when these guys open their yap and talk to the press. Perhaps - and this is just a part of recruiting - coaches did tell him that he was going to be 'the man'. Then again, common sesnse would have to kick in and you'd realize that the University, not unlike the individual, is always shopping for a better deal. USF has no intention of building a team around you. If there's a better QB who wants to play here, you get to ride the pine.
  14. 1) The winner.....................................USF 2) The final score................................27 - 24 3) Bulls total offensive yards.................302 4) Bulls leading receiver ......................Sheffield
  15. Copies retail for $5.00/pop. Send me an email with your name, mailing address and mail the funds to the address in my reply and I'll burn a copy and drop them in the mail.
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if this 'falls through the cracks'. It's premier time on the broadcast networks, the debates (and I'm hesitatnt to use that term) are rolling up, so it pretty much depends on ABC finding three hours of empty space, not an easy task for network affiliates, especially when it really is 'old news' that USF won by a TCU error. It's all about the numbers. 8) There's another thread on here saying it will be broadcast on B'house47 @ 21:00. If so, I'll tape it. Want a copy? You know the routine.
  17. Even CJL commented on this postgame: it comes down to coaching a more disciplined game-day execution to avoid these penalties. He sees it, and he knows it's killing a lot of our drives. How do you coach it? I have no idea. It can't be carrot-and-stick...it has to be performance.
  18. Or, it could be that these are the only QBs you have and you're gonna have to ride the storm out with them. Jesus is not going to miracle a brand new , Heisman hopeful QB into USF anytime soon. This is what you've got. And compared to RB, yeah, PJ is the only potential savior wearing Green & Gold. It's a huge **** sandwich and we're all gonna have to take a bite.
  19. Yep...and I also sat through South Florida at the University of South Carolina.
  20. So the big question is... If 4-3 (mediocre) gets you to a bowl game - granted , you'd probably be playing another mediocre team - does this really warrant "post season play"? My take: There's way too many Poulan Weed Whacker Bowls out there. At some point, given the caliber of play, isn't it just another road game? Is there a sense that maybe post-season play should go to teams that actually excelled during the season? I remember a few years back, though they did have the requisite number of conference wins, Tejas Norte did have an overall losing record and still went to a bowl game. :
  21. Hmmm...then I guess you and I use the same physician. "It may never happen again, or it may pop up from time to time." I had a bout of this last year. There's nothing you can do but ride it out. However, I am more conscious about some of the things I do that could possibly bring about another round...I can't imagine trying to play football. 8)
