  1. Shane has done his part. The offense has let him down last start. Tonight......different story.
  2. I don't know much about the selection process. But if by some stretch they win the AAC tournament, they are in the dance right?
  3. Do we really want to be PU or UP? I just keep hearing...PU, you guys stink. I agree USF is fine for me.
  4. I feel like this is more about the pirates struggles to draft than the rays. Although they have been known to blow a top pick or two.....Looking at you whoever decided Tim Beckham was a better choice than Buster Posey. http://www.espn.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/85392/the-real-reason-the-rays-and-pirates-arent-winning
  5. We spanked them three of the four times we have played them. In two countries. http://www.winsipedia.com/south-florida/vs/northern-illinois So.....
  6. I haven't seen anything and was thinking about making a topic about this in the club. I thought he would be back as well. Maybe wisely beat him out, but I think if he was healthy, we would have seen him last night in a PH spot.
  7. Wednesday was defiantly our season's best offense performance but overall I have been very pleased with our offensive production so far. Averaging almost 10 hits per game and have three straight with Double digit hits. Also 27 XBH in 8 games is pretty solid considering 4 of those 8 were against top ten (at the time) teams. We out hit FSU (#4 in the nation) and posted 27 hits against UNC (#20 in the nation). Those games are really good measuring sticks for how well this team can it. That's what made the first game of Fordham series so frustrating, you could see this team was getting good contact, it was just going straight to Fordham gloves. We also have played most of our games this season without two key offensive contributors from last season (Stunkel and Genord).
  8. Another great hitting showcase for the bulls, three straight with games with double digits hits is great. Lead by the heart of this order (Villar, Chatfield, and Dutka) who went 6-13 with three extra base hits last night. Just can't say enough about what those three guys have done for us. Even Dutka who may have only had one hit tonight, drew two more walks and leads the team with nine. They just keep finding ways to produce. Really glad to See Stuart go 5 innings. He was effective and only allowed one walk. Even though he didn't get the Wildcats to swing and miss much (one K), the Bulls played another perfect game in the field which limited the BCU offense. the bullpen got a lighter load in this mid week match-up than last week's, which is good. We didn't need to bullpen to handle 6 innings like they did against FSU. Perez was able to get some work in, mopping up the ninth. He got two Wildcats to swing and miss but did allow a walk, which did not score. Would have really rather seen him be perfect against this team but he still seems to be getting in the groove of the season. However the pitching staff all combined for only two walks on the game which was a great sign. Overall great team win. The bulls are looking strong and have a good amount of momentum heading into this four game set with Columbia.

  10. i'm a little late to the party tonight. I just checked in and saw we were up 9-1. Hope this offense continues. Probably no recap tonight. Will need to look at the books tomorrow morning.
  11. the head coach downplayed it a little citing that "he was baited". Must have been an intense game. https://www.seccountry.com/lsu/look-lsu-beau-jordan-flips-off-texas-pitcher
  12. Any idea on who's starting today? I am thinking Wisely since he started the last mid-week game but I haven't seen anything.
  13. So if it can be run inside or outside, then it is a inside run right? and off tackle is where the RB reads the tackle block meaning it can also be an inside or outside run, you can't just label it what you want and call it a day. Also, you can claim that different game plan would have changed the outcome, but I can also claim that more down the field attacks would have lead to more turnovers, what I can also say with absolute certainty is, if we stop that 4 and 24, we win. I think we are done here, have a good day sir.
  14. So tell me which plays did I mention are not inside runs? Also can we count how many times Flowers missed MVS on go routs? Maybe we wouldn't have ran the ball between the tackles so much if we would have been able to at least complete half of those. I'm sorry you didn't like how the offense was called but that doesn't make it wrong. There's a lot that goes into play calling, so to sit here and say they didn't know what they were doing because we ran the ball between the tackles so much is just flat out flawed. You don't know all the factors, you have no way of knowing. there are plenty of very successful offense that do a lot of running between the tackles. We went 10-2, there's nothing wrong with that. Here's another thought, maybe this staff changed the course of the offense because Flowers was a four month player for them and there is no one like him to return this season. maybe they though best to take a 2 year outlook over a four month outlook. sorry but this team coming back cannot run the Gulf Coast offense. Which would have forced them to make that switch this season, meaning our brand new QB would also be working with a brand new offense, that really doesn't end well. Doing it this way meant that we had a senior with a ton of experience to make the switch and the young kids get a year to learn. To top it all off, this team was a 4th and 24 stop and kick return stop from going undefeated. I can't gripe about that. Speaking of, I don't want to listen to any argument about the Houston game unless it pertains to not stopping a 4 and 24, if can't do that, you don't deserve to win. End of story.
  15. my apologies I meant to go back and correct that, but after I typed the message I got in a rush and never went back and did it.
  16. I don't like labeling every run play between the tackles as a HB dive. Just because the HB ran the ball between the tackles, does not mean the play was dive. there are numerous ways to block it, I.E. Veer, iso, zone, sprint, off-tackle, ect. that completely changes the play. So to say the play calling was weak because of the number of times we ran between the tackles is a weak argument unless you can break down the blocking scheme that goes with the play. Just ask a DT if an iso play looks like a veer play. if says yes, he probably isn't seeing the field much.
  17. it will be good to get one of them back in the order for the next series, although I would make the case that we are hurting for Genord at first more than Stunkel in the Of.
  18. so quick question. How deep into the tournament do the bulls have to go for the season to be successful? Is it really final four or bust? Or beat UConn or bust?
