  1. I think the fact that we have to debate whether or not we have surpassed U of San Fran just points out the problem with attaching your brand to an acronym. I only know two schools going by South Florida and one is a state college that I’m sure many on here have never heard of.
  2. TAMPA, Fla., JULY 23, 2018 – A USF baseball member prepares for an all-star game appearance and two continue to bash, as summer ball enters the final full week in July. Rising junior righty Carson Ragsdale (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) will appear in the Northwoods League All-Star game on Tuesday. The reliever has been dominant this season for the Madison Mallards, sitting fourth on the team with a 1.66 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 21.2 innings. He added to his strong summer with a pair of scoreless outings last week. Ragsdale pitched two innings on July 17 and 21, allowing a total of one hit with six strikeouts. Redshirt freshman catcher Jake Sullivan (Tampa) played in five games last week for the Savannah Bananas of the Coastal Plain League. He went 7-for-20 with a double, four runs scored and two RBI. Sullivan had three walks, a RBI and three runs to begin the week, then went 3-for-5 on July 18. He's fifth on the team with a .394 average, has scored 21 runs and driven in 21. Rising senior Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.) played in five games for the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League last week. He had three multi-hit games, tallying two hits in three-straight games. Genord totaled five runs scored, a double, two home runs and five RBI. He went 2-for-4 with a homer and two runs on July 17 and 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI on July 21. Genord is batting .279 in 33 games this summer with seven doubles, 23 runs, six homers and a team-high 35 RBI. Redshirt sophomore lefty Connor Eason (Chesapeake, Va.) made two appearances last week for the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plain League. He logged four innings and struck out six Junior second baseman JD Dutka (Suwanee, Ga.) did not play in any games last week for the Norcross Astros of the Sunbelt League. He has seen action in five games thus far, tallying two hits with two runs scored and three RBI. https://gousfbulls.com/news/2018/7/23/usf-baseball-summer-ball-update.aspx
  3. I always felt that the logo was to small and didn't really add anything to the uniform when placed across the front
  4. The pants are pretty nice when you get to see the subtleties
  5. I think it has something to do with this. <removed pic of wishy washy looking beige UCF uniform, it was interfering with the topic display>
  6. Our name is our name geographical or not. Saying USF doesn't make people forget that the SF stand for South Florida. I agree that being USF makes it easier for to get confused with UCF.
  7. DB 11 falls one stroke back (-5). eight players are tied or one back of the lead. Spieth sits among leaders.
  8. https://www.theopen.com/Leaderboard#!/traditional Hes through ten, can he end the drought?
  9. I agree here, especially with your 2nd point. I like the darker green with the real gold look better than the So Flo look. But that could just be me.
  10. The font reminds me of the military unis.
  11. Duffy is cheap, controllable, plays multiple INF positions pretty well, he also wont garner much in return. Not sure it would smart to just take what you get on him right now. The hitch was Ramos getting hurt, I think he was the only clear cut gotta move guy on the roster. I think they need to move from Kevin "DL" Kiemaier. He if makes it to 2020 as a ray, ill be surprised.
  12. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2786525-one-big-regret-each-mlb-team-must-avoid-at-the-2018-trade-deadline#slide27 The Tampa Bay Rays got bad news Thursday when All-Star catcher Wilson Ramos was put on the DL with a hamstring strain. He's likely to stay on it until after July 31. There goes the Rays' best trade chip. The best they can hope for now is trades involving other rentals like Eovaldi, Adeiny Hechavarria, Carlos Gomez and Sergio Romo. None is likely to bring back much, if anything. Perhaps this will embolden rival executives to push the Rays to trade their controllable cornerstones, such as Blake Snell, Chris Archer, Kevin Kiermaier and Matt Duffy. A trade of any one of them would shower the Rays in the sort of prospect riches they can't get from trading rentals alone. If this does happen, however, the Rays must resist. They've put up a 49-47 record this year despite being a collection of stars and scrubs. They should get even better as they mine more stars from their farm system. They only need to let it happen. I think before the season, I would have liked to have seen Archer go but with the way they have played thus far he might be worth keeping around. If Honeywell and DeLeon can come back healthy they could put together a pretty solid rotation for next season. Sucks about Ramos though. Either have to pony up some money on hi or let him walk for nothing. I would like to see them pay him the money and then deal him if next season isn't working out.
  13. There is now numerous new clubs. The golf, bourbon, and a high school sports clubs are up and running see them all here https://www.thebullspen.com/clubs/
  14. Hey guys, I have been working on some new clubs and I thought this thread would serve great as one. Advantages would be being able to organize different brands and distilleries into separate conversations while still being in a singular place instead of sorting through all the pages this could build up to find that one brand that one person mentioned four months ago. I am going to send out some invitations to some of you that have been posting on this thread but I will most likely miss some and I apologize.
  15. You can live an hour and a half away from the bay area and still be annoyed by that guy.
  16. BULLS IN THE PROS: FORMER USF PITCHERS HAVING STRONG SEASONS TAMPA, JULY 20, 2018 – Former USF pitcher Tommy Eveld has been one of the California League's top relievers this season.Selected in the ninth round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, Eveld has a 2.03 ERA in 97 minor league games with 30 saves and 132 strikeouts. Named a A-Advanced California League All-Star for the Visalia Rawhide, the 6-foot-5 righty is 2-2 on the year with a 1.24 ERA and 42 strikeouts. Eveld has five saves with 14 strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA over his last 10 outings. Eveld did not begin his career as a USF student-athlete with the baseball program. He came to Tampa as a football player, spending the first three years on the team. It was not until 2015 when Eveld joined Billy Mohl's pitching staff. He appeared in 39 games as a Bull, totaling 92 strikeouts with nine saves in his final year. Eveld has really blossomed into the closer role, as he's currently third in the California League with 12 saves and has issued only seven walks.Rise of the PhoenixTwo-year USF starter Phoenix Sanders is transitioning to life in the bullpen. Sanders is 5-1 on the year with a 2.44 ERA, three saves and 63 strikeouts playing for the Bowling Green Hot Rods (A-Advanced).The former Friday night man for the Bulls went just 2-3 in five starts after being drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 10th round of the 2017 MLB Draft. He already has more strikeouts this season compared to last, having logged almost as many innings. His strikeout-to-walk ratio was 4:1 in 2017 and he averaged 9.42 K's per nine innings. Now in his first full professional season, Sanders has a 3.71:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio and is striking out 12.85 batters per nine innings. COCO STAYS HOT: Coco Montes has remained a force in the Pioneer League with the Grand Junction Rockies after being selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 15th round of this year's MLB Draft. In 30 games, Montes leads the league with a .407 average and 29 runs scored. He has nine doubles, two triples, four home runs and 19 RBI.
