  1. I don't think anyone said that USF should go broke building a stadium. Something nice that could be enlarged (if needed) or improved at a later date. The fans that are anti- OCS will be the first ones to complain when we are passed over by a P5 for not having an on campus OCS They will be the first to blame the administration for dropping the ball
  2. I agree with you Army Bull. Our game day experience is incredibly bad. Always has been and always will be, until we build an OCS. I really don't care what USF builds, as long as it is on our campus. Watching the traditions at UCF yesterday reinforced my beliefs that we need our own stadium ASAP. BTW, I also served in the Army, in the late 60's. Did a tour in Nam.
  3. Live in Gville and went to the game. The bulls controlled the Gators from the beginning. Gators scored runs the last two innings because of very sloppy Bulls pitching (lots of walks). The best part of the game was watching the Gator fans streaming out after the fifth inning. Actually got a lot of compliments from Gator fans about our freshman pitcher and how well we hit.
  4. In softball, one elite pitcher can get a team a long way. As long as she has a solid (not even great) team behind her. The Bulls 2012 WCWS team is a perfect example. Nevins was one of the top five pitchers at the championships, solid defense and offense. The regional in 2012 against Hofstra, a great regional, is another example. Hofstra had one elite pitcher. She pitched almost every inning of the region, they didn't have the offense and she just wore out. The Bulls could be a top 25 team every year if CKE can recruit some pitching. Get good pitching and the hitters will follow. Easier said than done.
  5. My daughter was an elite level softball player in middle and high school. I watched hundreds of softball games over the years. My daughters travel teams always had superior pitching, which is the one thing that is lacking on USF teams. The one four year span that the bulls had great pitching was the Sarah Nevins era. She could shut down any teams hitters, just an awesome pitcher with a good team around her. Nevins came to USF to be closer to home which worked out well for USF. Elite level softball players want to play at big time schools in Power 5 conferences. Even our excellent coach, with all his connections cannot convince even one great pitcher to play at USF. It is what it is.
  6. We are 22-38 over the past five seasons. Play in someone else's stadium, miles away from the campus. We average around 20,000/game. Did CWT really direct the turn around this year? I sure hope you guys are correct when you say it's all about location.
  7. We have beaten four teams with a total of eight wins. SMU and FAMU have one win each. We did play Memphis close, I'm not sure what that means, if anything. Let's wait and see how we do in the next four games. If we win two or three games and Q plays and PASSES well, we will know we have a team and a qb. I will be at the Navy and ECU games, unless business interferes. Annapolis is a great place to visit(even though I'm an army draftee 67'-70'), and ECU is always fun. The fans at ECU pack the place and they understand southern football. Go Bulls
  8. If Sherriff played for the Bulls, Flowers would never see playing time (at qb). He (Sherriff) is a stronger more accurate passer, much better pocket awareness, just as good (if not better) runner. Combine that with the ability to make all the throws and you have a better qb. Sure he forced the ball a few times, that happens with most young qb's. Perhaps you didn't notice that Flowers threw two god awful passes for interceptions. I'm not a UConn fan, but I know a good young qb when I see him. He gave a good defense fits today.
  9. Auburn. I was there, it was great to beat an SEC team in their stadium.
  10. We did get to watch a good qb today. His name was Shirreff and he played for UConn. To bad, if he was a bull we would be 5-1 or maybe even 6-0.
  11. The hurdles are there so that the fans that spend 2-3 grand a year get first choice for the away game tickets. Same as any other university. After the deadline the remaining tickets are available to all other fans. My tickets will be available. With this awful team there are always a lot of tickets available. We used to attend 2-3 away games a year. Make a long weekend of it and see the local sites along with game. This team is not worth spending the money or the travel time. We'd rather go to the Bahamas and fish.
  12. If we had an O-line that could pass block and receivers that could get open, then I think Bench would be the starting qb. When he has protection he has proven to be an accurate passer. He is a much, much better drop back passer than Flowers. He also is able to run. Not like Flowers, but good enough. Unfortunately, it looks like the King of sand-lot football will be our qb for the rest of the year.
  13. We don't have a revenue stream. We sold about 13,000 season tickets and receive about 2 million/year from the conference. We also have what is left of the buy out from the BE. I don't how much of that is left. When it's gone I have no idea how the athletic department will survive.
  14. Normally I would turn off the game and go mow the lawn. However, I'm a bulls fan and I enjoy pain.
