of course you heard that... but what really happened was a kid tossed a ball to another sox player to get it autographed but had bad aim... the ball was going a hefty 5 mph when in glanced pedro.  Hardly beaning.  He shrugged it off and kept on celebrating the red sox victory.

BOSTON (AP) -- Pedro Martinez was hit in the forehead by a baseball thrown from the banks of the Charles River while he was riding on an amphibious vehicle during the World Series victory parade for the Red Sox. He was not seriously injured.

"I have a little headache, but I'm OK," Martinez said after the parade ended Saturday at Fenway Park.

It was not immediately clear who threw the ball or why.

Martinez looked stunned, putting his hand to his forehead. The ball was later seen floating in the water as the vehicle floated down the river for the final leg of the parade.

Jim Averill, 42, of Boston, said the ball was thrown at a high speed from the river bank. He said pitcher Derek Lowe tried to catch it before it struck Martinez.

"I saw the ball hit him in the head," Averill said. "Derek Lowe tried to grab it. It hit him and it flew up about 15 feet and fell into the water."

You have to admit that he is known for throwing at peoples head, much like Clemens was/is...which is very dangerous.  I hope he signs with a National League team in the offseason, and see how effective he is when he loses the inside of the plate 'cause is afraid that if he hits someone he is sure to be nailed during his at bat.

yes, he is known as being a head hunter, and he was when he played in Montreal... and he was coming into the league in LA organization.  He is not intimidated by NL... he's proven that over and over.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
