Because if he doesn't play now Gregory can't screw him up. Hopefully Daniels will have a new OC to work with next year  Someone that doesn't have just 10 plays in his playbook.

Next year Grothe will be the number 1 quarterback, if he gets any kind of help, we will have a good season.
