My take on the game...

I want to first say that like everyone else on this board I am extremely frustrated.  However, I am just as frustrated with the "fans" on this board.  It is obvious that USF did not play well today but is it because of CJL? NO!  How bout Julmiste...NO!  What about Rod Smith...partially!

I am amazed to see people on this board wanting CJL to leave for K-State.  He did not cost us the game today.  Of course he made a few questionable calls and maybe did not have the team as ready as he should but neither did Louisville's coach yet you did not see anything about firing him after they lost to "lowly USF."  Instead fans continued to support the program and they are fine now!

How about Pat Julmiste?  He did not cost us the game today.  Yeah he threw 3 picks, but how many were his fault?  Maybe the last one but the first two hit the hands of a receiver first.  Ever heard the phrase if it hits you in the hands you have to catch it?  I am in no way saying that Julmiste is the best QB in the nation but I am saying he is the best we got.  All the people wanting to start C4 I got one question:  Have you seen him throw because I have not and if he can throw I have confidence that the coaches would put him in.

Now on to Rod Smith.  I think that you could throw some blame on him for this loss.  He is too in love with trick plays.  I for one love trick plays and think they are great for certain times of a game, not fourth and goal!  This is the second time this year that he has called a reverse inside the 10 and neither has been close to working.  Rod Smith should have enough confidence in his QB to let him throw and if he does not then he needs to get a new QB in there but as I said earlier Julmiste is the best option in my opinion.

Alright fans just look at it this way.  USF is looking like we will go to a bowl for the first time in the history of the program in a year when we were predicted to do nothing.  This is a young team and we should be back to compete next year for the Big East title.  Don’t Fire CJL, give Rod Smith a time when and where he call trick plays, and lets have intense competition to see who the best QB on our roster is for next year.

Lets all come out a support the BULLS next week and in their bowl game and take it from there.
