Horrible timing by the university.  He either has to accept his buyout or be fired.

"Bearcats associate head coach Andy Kennedy will be asked to become interim head coach."

You have to wonder how large of an effect it will have on the UC program, especially this season.

Former Cincinnati Coach Bob Huggins has gone fishing, good buddy Bret Bearup said.

Bearup, the former UK player turned high-stakes financial adviser, said Huggins planned to take a year off and recharge his coaching batteries.

When the conversation turned to retirement, Huggins used to employ his signature dry humor and deadpan delivery and say he planned to live in Lexington once he hung up his whistle. Then he'd bug Tubby Smith for tickets to UK games.

Don't look for Huggins to retire. Whatever his well-publicized transgressions, Huggins won famously at Cincinnati. As Larry Eustachy and Mike Price proved, there's always a market for a winner and there can be profitable second acts in coaching.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
