  1. The TV ratings for USF vs WVU and Rutgers were good that year we made #2. Some of the highest rated games on ESPN that year. You can reseach it and see for yourself. So all we had to do was finish #2 in the nation every year and we'd be in the P5? Honestly, I wouldn't complain!
  2. I don't understand how NOT playing UCF caused the firing of Leavitt, the hiring of Holtz, and being relegated to the AAC? In fact, didn't UCF originally show little interest in playing against us in the years prior?
  3. It has a lot to do with getting rid of Leavitt. He built the program from scratch. Without him, we would have never got into the BIG EAST. Wins at Pitt openned eyes. Even the BIG EAST commish said so himself. USF football is Leavitt. Whether or not you like Leavitt; I strongly believe that this and the last season would have never happened under Jim's watch.
  4. I'm going to let you in on a little secret, Tampa will never feel like a local college town. Tampa doesn't need to have that feeling... Just the USF area in Temple Terrace. We are a metropolitan school and I feel that Pitt, Louisville, and even UofHouston - have a more ideal environment (with the first two possessing a strong fan base).
  5. Having freshman on campus is a far cry from actually building a local community that embodies a local college town. This is actually one category, in which I feel that UCF is legitimately ahead of us. It would be nice to have a neighborhood, in which many residents feel engaged in USF activities. But this is still, suitcase city, after all... gentrification, anyone?
  6. This is just a theory, but wouldn't improving graduation rates AND creating a more residential campus increase our fan base immensely? The more alumni that graduate in a timely manner with USF labeled diplomas might funnel more money back to the school.
  7. Quidditch? Hopefully, 2014 is the year that USF beats UCF in every sport... Maybe our players will have more motivation when considering 2013. Hmm, I'm not superstitious, but maybe 13 is just a bad year for USF (and Obama )
  8. USF graduation rates are horrible; especially when taking national rankings into effect.
  9. Because heart disease is the nation's #1 killer, while watching USF football (at RJS or elsewhere) is only the #7 killer. But truly what's more important to the world at large? Clearly applying education money (likely illegally) toward athletics facilities is the answer. Thank you!
  10. I can agree with that; and at many times... our offensive scoring was frustrating to watch.
  11. I almost had a heart attack with that last FGCU shot... Great game though!
  12. Agreed. What really brings more value to your degree anyways? Athletics or Academics...
  13. As long as he is a strong recruiter, I will give him the benefit of the doubt!
  14. Honestly, the colors having nothing to do with our success. I just believe that we need a more attractive environment to attract players and fans alike.
  15. Why did I even look? (why did I even comment)...
  16. That's an interesting take! As an alumni, I hope that you remember your school! Good years are on the horizon!
