  1. Here we go again with a guy that makes sense if you want someone who is ready to walk away at the drop of a $
  2. "Am I doin' it right guys? How does it look? If only Skip was on here with me!"
  3. Great point! I just REALLY don't want to see people give up because of Skip, feeling that this is really their only option to send a message. Go to the games and send a message with signs...A LOT OF THEM and support the team.
  4. •Selected for Russell Athletic Bowl: $50,000 Huh? lol
  5. I am getting tired of seeing this name come up, if you are excited that Skip lacks passion and commitment for this program well Petrino is your guy.
  6. You really need to step away from the pipe. People not renewing is not sacrificing their own persoanl enjoyment, it's running when it get's tough. You stick with your team through the good times and bad. You never give up. What good would it do for him to resign? Do you honestly think that we'd be better off without a coach for the rest of the season? I'm willing to bet that the "possibility" of him not being here next year hurts recruiting more than the losing. I actually agree with you, I can't believe people are thinking about non-renewing as a result of all this but they are. Maybe him stepping away would keep that from happening...?
  7. "I understand why people would be upset, losing 10 of 11 Big East games. We're not trying to do that. Everybody's embarrassed about where we are right now, nobody more than myself." Okay this is the one that has me really burning up, I thought I could get over it but now I'm stewing! If he is that embarrased then step the hell down! How many fans are already talking about not renewing and making a sacrafice of their own personal enjoyment and love for their Bulls, how many fans have had to watch him week in and week out holding on to hope that every week things would change only to watch him take steps continually backwards and how many fans can't help but feel like something special about the Bulls has died!? Yes, we are embarrassed, he finally got the right call! We are embarassed but mostly of him and if he really feels what he says than maybe he'll do the RIGHT thing and step down instead of ROB us of everything!
  8. I'm glad to see him take some ownership. This is the 1st time he really has and I believe he didn't have a choice knowing very well the backlash was and is coming. HOWEVER, I don't appreciate him saying he is taking this harder than anyone else. Trust me he doesn't feel it worse than me or as I'm sure several other longtime Bulls
  9. he might work for less--- he needs to do some damage control not sure we need to jump out of the frying pan into the fire-- is he a solution? I'd say very short leash type of contract, laden with incentives (and penalties for infractions) is about the only way I would touch him as a new HC Petrino= another step in the wrong direction
  10. He did say that? What time in the video? I've had a lot to drink since yesterday, please help...
  11. right--- you knew it all along-- it wasn't something you argued with ten people here on the board about when you were rallying people to fire Holtz immediately after the Ball State and FSU games. Must be nice living in revisionist history world (and in case this went over your head -- /sarcasm) Ya I read it today, a lot of what was already stated here.
  12. I appreciate you posting this. Just another reminder of how quickly the media can shift things. However, I will still stick to my belief that Skip has consistently shifted accountability to the 'great talent' (oh and he does have great talent, I'm just quoting him) he has and away from himself. I'm still looking for someone to show me the quote where Skip say one of the following, 'That's on me,' 'As coaches we have to do better,' or the simple 'We can do better as a team and a coaching staff.'
  13. did you resist the urge to do the FIRE HOLTZ! chalking? if not-- please post a picture I did resist the urge...I drew a palm tree their names and then I took them to Chuck E Cheese
  14. this bothers me...if I could be there I would be there! Holtz is not USF football! I'm starting think all us 'die hards' got married had kids and things changed. I know the core i used to be part of and I tell you what...we would have never abandoned the jersey! If you are old school and part of that core...shame on you and remember why you are a BULL!
  15. things actually could get worse...i was trying to think of a time i felt close to this and it is bad right now. However losing out the rest of the way could be much worse
  16. My kids and I were chalkin' the drive-way this afternoon
  17. "The glaring, glaring things offensively were the inconsistency in catching the ball at the wide receiver position," Holtz said. "It made it very hard to get any consistency or anything moving. It seemed like as soon as you start to get some momentum rolling, you drop a couple passes, and then it was 'Punt.' " "I don't know how many drops (Daniels) had, but I bet he had seven," Holtz said. "We're not talking about hard catches. We're talking about balls that were hitting people in the sternum."
  18. cosh has a guarantee for next year. He will still be fired...he sucks and cannot coach No man, this is like the Oprah show right now and "everyone gets a car! rahrahrah!"
  19. Nothing dumb about this thread, it's just a way to cope and laugh a little using dark humor to heal real wounds. If we sucked all those years with CJL then yesterday would be easy to deal with but I'll take the old High Highs & Low Lows of the CJL era over the LOW low lower Holtznewera
  20. I like Jay Gruden, his ability to recruit would be just fine..I think he could find someone to take of the defense
  21. you know he can recruit : D I'm kinda' joking but I will say this...the guy is majorly inspiring on the field and in the locker room. Watched him take slugger 'the wood' to some lockers before plant game and I knew they weren't gonna lose that game. Kids need raw emotion sometimes. Hell, I almost wanted to put on pads and go out there
