It's being reported by Steve DUImeg. He is the only one reporting it so far. Josh Newberg from 247sports and Greg Auman are working to confirm. DUImeg and 620AM are reporting that USF will fly Taggart to Tampa overnight and make the announcement tomorrow morning.

Davis took a UNC team that had only one winning season in the 6 prior years and stacked the team with talent, leading to winning seasons. If there is anyone who can turn the team arround quickly, it's Davis. Here is how I see it, Davis is a short term solution, and Taggart is a long term solution. Given the rapidly changing college athletics landscape, I think we need to make an impression now, and Davis would be better in that respect.

I'm reading from 247sports that there was an interview with Taggart tonight, and it went well. So well, in fact, that a deal could be made in the coming days, as to possibilly introduce the new coach (whoever it might be) to the JUCO prospects visiting campus this weekend. Taggart is the frontrunner.
