  1. I must admit, I laughed out loud at the thread title. Still, no thanks.
  2. He is a good game day coach, still developing to an extent but that has as much to do with the state of WKU when he took over as anything else. Maybe more important than his recruiting abilities, he does an exceptional job developing talent.
  3. Rich Rod's system, same as it ever was. Top ten in YPG, top 25 in TDs.
  4. He has been on the Rich Rod circuit for over a decade now. If nothing else the man knows offense.
  5. He has been holding out for a high profile opportunity, and it's becoming increasingly evident that he is going to get one sooner rather than later. Quite possibly in the state of Alabama.
  6. This. Because it is realistic. Even a "big name" slam dunk coach couldn't polish this turd quick enough to satiate the masses. I can't even begin to understand this line of thinking. Even when you fear failure you shoot for the stars. By that I don't mean a big name or a retread, but a hungry young coach who you believe can be something special going forward. By hiring Zook you would literally be shooting for mediocrity and expecting relative failure. The man went 23-15 at Florida following in the biggest shoes possible. Everyone hated him from day one which I assume is why you have that taste in your mouth. He inherited a **** program at Illinois and didn't make it any worse. I don't think he is the greatest hire by far but I think he should be top 5. He is also the most realistic hire I have seen mentioned. I'm the furthest thing possible from a Gators fan and truth be told Zook is the only head coach they have had in the last thirty years that I find even remotely tolerable as a human being, so I'm not sure how you think that would color my opinion in any way. My issue with Zook is simple: HE IS A TERRIBLE GAME DAY COACH. Period. That's my only beef, but it should be a significant one. His talent to success ratio at Illinois was remarkably dreadful.

  8. Mendenhall, Brit Miller, Doug Pilcher, Juice Williams, Jon Asamoah, Will Davis, Vontae Davis, Antonio Steele, Martez Wilson, Rejis Benn, Josh Brent, Mikel Leshoure, Tavon Wilson, Jeff Allen, Michael Buchanan, Justin Green, Jonathan Brown, Darius Millines, Chandler Whitmer, etc, etc, etc. All highly or relatively highly sought recruits. Ok, but how did he do with all that talent? I will let you know........HE GOT FIRED for poor on field results! Same thing Holtz just got canned for! Ummm, you might want to take a closer look at the larger point I was making in this thread.

  10. Illinois already gave him that opportunity. Again he got tremendous talent to come to Champaign and again he failed miserably.
  11. Even beggars can choose to not hire a proven loser.
  12. I would have gone with "don't stop conceding" but that's just me.
  13. He is an absolutely brutal game day coach.
  14. I think he can take any coaching job he wants, but UNC won't have to pay him anymore if he does and he seems hell-bent on making UNC pay fully for what he considered to be an unjust termination.
  15. Boosters applied pressure, but you'll never hear them admit that was a factor. Results (obviously), lack of direction for the program, fan anger quickly being replaced by fan apathy, player apathy and by all appearances coach apathy.
  16. No surprise the coach that is up by 27 is showing more passion on the sideline than Skippy.
  17. Sadly nothing Skip does suprises me anymore.
  18. I've never thought Floyd was the future answer at QB, but it's a little soon to be jumping all over the kid.
