  1. He keeps saying that signing day is going to be a huge surprise. Is that because he is coming to the lowly ACC and USF? Who knows but he is fun to follow. Always positive toward all the schools.
  2. Maybe play time isn't most important to some kids. Maybe the possibility to play in front of 90,000+, play in the best football conference out there, be a part of something with great history/tradition, Opportunity to be apart of BCS games or possibly a National Championship etc is higher on their list than getting on the field right away. for sure...otherwise, they'd play for Charleston Southern (or similar). I might have my green and gold glasses on but there is a pretty big difference between the two schools. I see your point Bull24, I would tell my child differently but I understand where you are coming from. I would want my child to make a decision based on Academics and movement to the NFL. Starting for 3-4 years allows you to put more on film then starting for 1-2.
  3. So how does going to UF equal more money or better options? This can not be related to either situation (picking up somebody or working at a company). These kids are not promised playing time, they are promised the opportunity to compete. Does playing at UF get you drafted before other schools? I seriously doubt the NFL cares about anything but game film. So yea, why sit for 3 years when you could have a chance to start sooner? Why go to a school that you obviously were not the first option for? Does that school all of a sudden care about you more then everybody else or will they always be trying to replace you?
  4. Everybody keeps talking about a canceled OV. You do realize that he has been around and talking to the staff for a long time. He has probably been on a non-official visit already and has more then enough contact with coaches. He could be using this time to see what Florida has to offer and hear what they have to say. If Florida is close to flipping him after that I would hope that he would at least give us an official instead of Wisconsin in that situation.
  5. Is there a limit to the number of recruits you bring in on a weekend? Total?
  6. Bayes will be an OLBer. I saw a picture of this kid in USF gear on twitter yesterday.
  7. I wish he would stay. I just think that these kids forget about everything that is important when a team like Oregon or Alabama comes calling. Are they good teams, sure but that does not mean they are the best choice. Every year these schools get first shot at top talent. They have backups that where rated as high coming out of HS. Why not go somewhere you can create something and still be noticed by the NFL? I think I would be helping my son make very different decisions then some of these guys.
  8. Cory Binder just posted on twitter that we are getting an official visit.
  9. 11 hours ago he posted "Getting out of Tampa bro, I swear"
  10. The only thing injured is his ability to play QB. We need to go with Mike White and give this team a chance to win games this year. It sure seemed like Bench was more injured on the sideline then a few days/weeks out judging by his reaction to the doctors.
  11. I wish these kids would look at early playing time and the chance to make a difference in their home town team. We need kids like this to stay home. He will probably play anywhere he goes but he could probably start here next season and he would bring a lot of players with him.
  12. We used to have a big, hard hitting MLBer, that stuffed the run, made huge plays, and was considered slow. He worked out pretty well on our defense, always making a play when we needed it. His name is slipping my mind right now...
  13. Even if Eveld is healthy I would rather see Mike White on the field.
  14. Depends on how well Taggs can sell the rebuilding. The recruits are probably more concerned with improvement and the chance of early playing time.
  15. This is what I do not understand and what pisses me off. When we are loosing these games I am furious that it is happen and it makes me sick to my stomach to watch. But to see the players just walking around on the sideline or sitting there like they do not give a crap makes my blood boil. This program used to have pride.
  16. If he can't keep interested in the game, or lets frustration cause him not to try and catch balls thrown to him...well, it's not excusable. Those traits have no place on the field. Also, did you see Davis (or any WR) "open all game"? I saw stout coverage from what I could on ESPNU, and several folks who were at the game verified that. I don't think he was open much at all. I'll keep beating this drum...I think we all need to accept that Eveld is our best option. Is he not great?...of course. Does he suck?...I wouldn't say that, but I could see how someone would. Regardless of our opinions, CWT thinks he's the best option right now and his post-game comments seem to indicate we'll see mostly Eveld next week as well. Time to move past denial into acceptance. I saw 2 plays when we were on the goal line late in the first half where Eveld was moving to the sideline while you could see Davis on the back of the endzone all by himself. While watching the game you could see WRs open but Eveld not throwing the ball. The kid sucks and when any WR is playing with a crappy QB they loose interest. it happens to any athlete in any sport. Anybody that speaks differently is only kidding themselves.
  17. I understand that he maybe was not all into the game the 4th quarter Saturday. The problem is, how do you keep interest after 3 quarters of crappy QB play. Evelds delivery is to long and slow, he reads a defense like it is a quantum physics book, and he crouches when he throws getting more balls on the Dlines hands then his WRs. I imagine it gets frustrating being open all games and not having a QB that can even get a ball past the dline. I hape anybody but Eveld or Floyd is the QB this week. They both sucks so we should see what Bench or White can do with some experience.
  18. This is true but we cannot sit hear and blame all of that on these players and these coaches. That is the blame of Skip Holtz. Prior to Holtz this was a program on the rise. I hope that WT can get this program going back in that direction. This current program is one game into erasing the culture that was nurtured by Holtz the past few years. That does not change overnight.
  19. I do not mind the doom and gloom stuff, that is going to happen. I hate the fact that any fan would harass a player or recruit. These are kids trying their best to do their best.
  20. I usually just read the board without posting much. However, a few things have gotten to me a little. After one bad loss, I agree it was bad; many of the people on this board flip out. I understand the logic, we are supposed to be better then they are even on our worst day. We have to consider that WT is building something for sustained success and not instant gratification. Maybe it is the world we live in today that causes people to be so near cited but our goal is the future. Sure we want to win some games now but WT is trying to build this program back the proper way. Saturday’s loss was shocking but should it have been? This program has been in steady decline since Skip got here and Saturday’s game was the icing on the cake. People want to point out what WKU did on Saturday, great, but also realize that Pitrino was able to do that because of the way WT left that program. In the same respect, what happened Saturday has as much to do with the way Skip left the program. What really gets under my skin is how are players are having to deal with some of our very own idiot fans talking crap to them on the various media outlets. A few of our players have considered deleting their twitter feeds because of these bozos. Sure, that is a great way to treat our current players and make players wan to come here in the future. If you are a USF fan you should support the players at all times while they are trying to help your team become successful. If you want to complain to somebody go to the AD and the coaching staff. They are the ones being paid to improve the program. It was one game and this team will be better because of it. Give WT a chance to get some work done.
  21. I blame the females. Holtz and the girl he was talking to the went to USF. We know what Holtz did, 3-9, I think the real story is in what the other female must have done. Maybe that is why he got so needy. Or maybe she kicked him to the curb once he because Mr. attention Whole.
  22. If you consider throwing passes to the wrong team as smart then Dilfer was a genius.
  23. Sure, UCLA looks good. So do most of the women in Cali until you get to know them. If he thinks he is so amazing that he is going to beat out a freshman starter that played really well then best of luck to him. I would like to think that these kids have smarter people around them then that. Most of the time I am proven wrong. If he is not outright better then the current starter he does not replace him. Why not go somewhere that has an easier road to the starting spot? Just my opinion.
