  1. I graduated in 4 but I knew tons of people that didn't and are still in school. I know people that are pushing their 6th and 7th year at this point. This is in engineering however which takes a lot of people 5 years. The problem I think is that taking 15 credits is not as encouraged as it should be. A lot of people I knew were just going through taking like 9 or 12 credit hours, some working part time and some not. My impression is they just don't care how long it takes them, they take a low course load so its easy and they have more free time. I think they don't want to graduate. I think the advisers are part of the problem. They should really push heavily the 15 credit hours more than they do.
  2. I'm not trying to be difficult or ignorant, I just don't see how this the four game playoff system is any better for us. To me, it's the same dance, different song. The way I read it, the power conferences have a virtual strangle hold on the bowls and the NCG. If the teams involved in this new system are as I understand it, chosen by a selection committee - I'm being honest here, I just don't see how anyone from the NBE realistically makes the cut. It's too easy for the selection committee to stack the deck in the power conferences favor. Perhaps I'm wrong, but the way I see it, if the 'power conferences' do expand any further and take the remaining 'desirable' or semi-marketable programs with them (Louisville, BYU, etc.) I just don't see how a team not in the 'Big 4' SOS can measure up in the selection committee or presses eyes. Not only that, if the other conferences do expand, it will be more difficult to schedule 'quality' OOC games as there will be less room left on everyone's schedule. The B10 & Pac12's agreement and supposedly ND's arrangement with the B12 also squeeze out the other conferences as well, IMO. I hope I'm wrong, but I think the way things are lining up in the 'power conferences' are much worse for USF and the NBE than some of you care to admit or realize. It depends on who is on the committee. If every conference has equal representation on this selection committee it may not be as bad as you imagine. You raise a good point with the scheduling difficulties.
  3. Not true unfortunately: http://www.cbssports...-playoff-format guess how many ACC teams would have qualified in the last 10 years if we go by BCS rankings before bowls? 1 #3 v -tech 2007-2008 guess how many BE teams? 1 #3 cincy 2009-2010 this list does not include miami as they were big east members at the time. guess how many BE members have played for the MNC in that time? 0 again doesn't include miami as a BE member. this system is better for us. adding 2 teams gives us a better chance. how is that not obvious?? While I agree the playoff is better, we'll just have to see how the money is shared in the end. I don't understand how they claim to be doubling the value of the BCS with this change. Where do they pull these figures from? Also from the Q&A it sounds like possibly the Big East could be the only conference to make less money in the new system, and only because the other power conferences chose the arbitrary number five instead of six. Why not 2 or 4 or 7? It's an obvious move to damage the Big East.
  4. I don't really get hyped up over these favorable predictions anymore, give me some good wins and then I'll be excited.
  5. I believe the conspiracy. NCAA makers all wear mouse goggles (ears?)
  6. I'm really glad they are doing this. The USF library is pretty crappy compared to where I am now and the upper floors could really use a make over.
  7. Glad to hear this about AJ. He had some great plays as a Bull.
  8. Or maybe, because one list is only undergraduates, and the other lists is both graduate and undergraduate students.... well maybe we just have a lot less graduate students than those other universities.
  9. One of the other pictures actually has a viking that looks a lot like the Minnesota vikings logo if you google them. My highschool usee the new england patriots mascot/logo, and then when my high school installed a turf feild and track they wanted to use the symbol in the center of the field and requested permission from the patriots, but the patriots didn't let them claiming they didn't want people to think there was an association between themselves and the high school.
  10. From the wiki page: "The dispute continued for months until December 2003, when the county legally declared the stadium a condominium and took ownership." a condominium lol what?
  11. I knew it these conference alignments that were sorted a few months ago wouldn't last, but I didn't expect the wheels to start moving again this soon. I was expecting next spring.
  12. So where do the Pac12 and Big10 now fit in?
  13. I have a few pics from last visit Touch screen directory in the new science building new science building lobby Seal inside new building lobby USF Palms, from behind admissions building facing MSC plaza
  14. Thank you for the great photos. I really like the one from the collins garage capturing the city and busch gardens in the same shot. The tree is one of my favorite features of campus. Texas A&M has a similar tree called the century tree that has a fun tradition behind it.... and it looks almost identical shown below. The story with the tree is that if you walk under it with your lover you will be together forever and if you walk under it alone you will be alone forever. So you will see people sometimes go out of their way to avoid it if they are walking alone. On the flip side lots of guys propose to their future wife under it. Also there is a $100,000 scholarship fund that is fully supported by selling seedlings from the tree for $250. Here is the facebook link, it was a really great a idea by the person who started it. https://www.facebook...turyTreeProject I'm sure given time the tree at USF will become a campus icon just have beautiful trees have on other campuses.
  15. When the other team scores 44 points, I find it hard to place any blame on the quarterback.
  16. And how could anyone forget the streak that now continues from last week UCF now has 4 consecutive games without a TD pass.. Games: 4 Passing TD: 0
  17. Wow, I just graduated in May but some of these pictures are making me miss USF already. I'm glad to see they roped off the seal in the Marshall Center. And I also graduated just in time to miss using the new rec center and the engineering renovations. And now the main entrance has fountains in the median. This years incoming freshman are going to be enjoying a spectacular campus after all of these upgrades.
