I know some of you are saying he's slow, and won't be racking up sacks, but with his wrestling background I can see this guy putting some moves on the opposing o-line and breaking through a lot more than an average d-lineman... Even if he's slow it will be putting extra pressure on the QB having a 330# guy running right at you. I think he'll be great.

Well I guess in the virtual world we'll always have the deck stacked against us... or maybe they put USF in the proper place and are just propping UCF.

Great QB, great WRs, great RB. Get some decent o line and we'll have the most talented offense we've seen.

Well it sounds like this guy can go anywhere he wants almost, so wherever he chooses to go should take it as a compliment to their program. As a bulls fan I hope he chooses to serve USF with his abilities and become apart of the USF family. It would be an exciting time to have our carrol of receivers led by Woulard and then to have a strong defense that could top the 2007 talent we had. Players like VHIII can make that a reality. With the right mix of athletes and coaches USF has unlimited potential and it sounds like a lot of the new recruits are buying into that idea and want to make something new here at USF. They want to show the world what they can do. No better place to do it than USF.

Completely understand if someone is working full time and taking night classes, but do you think that is 50% of the students? I don't. My guess would be less than a quarter. Of course we will have a lower 4 and 6 year graduation rate than a college town university.college towns lack the industry and working demographic that would attend night classes for a career advancing degree. Being a city, yes we have a lot more people who may be working full time, mid career, and are taking night classes. It's not a fair expectation to have graduation rates as high as college town universities but it will always be used against us and I think we can do better than a 50% 6 year graduation rate.

Engineering is 126 credits. Department graduation plan is 15 credit hours nearly every semester and 1 summer of 9 credit hours. This will have a student graduating in 4 years. If you were to take 12 credits per semester and 1 summer it would take 5 years to graduate. 9 credits per semester and two summers of class would take 6 years. Based on that, the statistics indicate that 50% of the students are taking on average 9 credit hours or less per semester and/or not taking classes in the summer. That's pretty terrible, the students should be capable of at least 12 if not working. This is why I am a fan encouraging the 15 credit hours per semester.

In the video opener he's wearing and Oviedo jersey. I don't understand why anyone would chose any of those schools over USF, especially being from Winter Park. I know if I was a recruit and had the option I would stay in the south. Any place that goes below 40 degrees in the winter I'm not a fan of.

I'm not saying anyone trying to play hardball with Boise. I'm saying it sounds like Boise is having a hard time finding a place for their other sports. Maybe they're not but if they aren't then where are their other sports going to play?

^^^ Ya I was reading on texags a thread about speculation Oklahoma leaving the Big XII for the B1G and all these other crazy scenarios. SEC will further expand, ACC will further expand, BigXII will expand, then PAC and B1G may try to expand as well... It may take 3 years, 5 years, or 10 years but I believe it will happen.

Sounds like Boise is in a tough place right now. Obviously we all hope this is sorted out and they join the BE.

I'm actually looking forward to the NBE. I'm excited for Houston, Boise, and even a rivalry with UCF will bring some more excitement to the conference. These teams will see a recruiting and performance bump from the conference change in my opinion and are in good markets to increase the performance of their programs. Adds from Cali, TX, and FL will help the conference recruit and give coast to coast interest and maybe even benefit TV viewership with the 4 time zones. If the teams could just stick together the conference has great potential IMO, but in the immediate landscape anyone with a chance will leave unfortunately.

Once the dust settles these teams will still need to schedule easier non power conference teams on their OCC to try and guarantee OCC wins if their conference schedules are as tough a you claim. We'll just have to continue to upset them.

I know it's different for each person and of course working part time and some full time may require a lower course load. I was able to find a way to graduate in 4 years while holding an officer position in an organization my last two years and working a few hours per week in a research lab my last two years. Also with an internship one summer. Now I don't mean to come off as better than thou, I know everyone is different in terms of what they can handle, but even with these other obligations 50% in 6 years is too low. The students are capable of more. I guess what I mean to say is that in my experience my peers chose 12 over 15 without much good reason except its easier. I do agree though that a 5 or 6 year time to graduate with a co-op or two and organization involvement in a leadership capacity may be more beneficial than 4 year graduation without those things.

Idk what our fellow bulls are doing that is taking them over 6 years unless they're co-oping for a few semesters but that's not 50% of the students.

Actually I knew someone at USF that was hit by a car on 42nd street. He was on a bike and was ambulanced to the hospital. He was fine afterwards but he had a lot of scrapes all over, you could definately see something happened to him. I think it was a hit and run and I don't recall if they caught the person. Also a student like two or three years ago was hit and killed on BBD on the USF side at the light right before BBD and Fowler. Some of her friends cemented a "ghost bike" into the corner there in her memory, I wonder if it's still there, I remember seeing flowers left there from time to time. Tragic.

This is impressive.

We only accept about 45% of students who apply according to USN&WR. Our main problems are student to faculty ratio and graduation rates. Yes, a lot of state schools accept like 50 to 60% of applicants.

I graduated in 4 but I knew tons of people that didn't and are still in school. I know people that are pushing their 6th and 7th year at this point. This is in engineering however which takes a lot of people 5 years. The problem I think is that taking 15 credits is not as encouraged as it should be. A lot of people I knew were just going through taking like 9 or 12 credit hours, some working part time and some not. My impression is they just don't care how long it takes them, they take a low course load so its easy and they have more free time. I think they don't want to graduate. I think the advisers are part of the problem. They should really push heavily the 15 credit hours more than they do.
