Im the first to admit..I'll always say until our defense proves it they always get shredded. Usually its in the intermediate pass game and on third downs. I just think its funny you guys try to compare stopping wvu as the standard. WVU was pretty one dimensional and we one of the best defenses in the country that year. None of those players remain, or the coaches, and from what I remember it was mentioned at that time we were beating wvu we had some keys on their offense on what they were going to run. Nevada is much more of a passing threat than wvu was when we were beating them. WVU now is much more of a passing threat than they used to be which is why they would kick our butts this year.

i hate florida just as much as you but theres a difference between acknowledging the skills of a player and supporting the team. I don't care what school you go to, if your good your good.

i mean for the future of our program lets hope we become ranked..end season ranked...and start the next year ranked. I mean the implications of being ranked alone should make it matter..I mean lets be honest it matters more than you think.

He is our rainey or demps..whichever..he is that kind of weapon...

he finally has wr's to compliment him. The kid wants to do well more than anyone of us want him too..so lets give him a break...he is a leader, and led us to victory today.

THE DEFENSE really stepped up. Davis and mitchell is one of the best combo's in the country hands down. Daniels played incredible.

Their offense is good there is no doubt about it. Im just hoping we jump ahead early making them more one dimensional. I would like to keep them on the ground rather than through the air as I feel we will be exposed. We have no clue what to expect out there.

In my opinion Lamar really turned a corner. He got alot tougher and seemed to be prime to be our demps or rainey. He had that kind of burst even though he may not be as fast. He could easily be thrown in at rb or slot and produce alot for us. The fact is our coaches don't know what to do or who to play. We rotate alot of guys and our te's really pay the price. No pun intended but if price is wasted as a tight end im going to be pissed. Back to lamar..He shouldnt be redshirted..he deserves to play and is a game changer.

what worries me: I saw highlights of the game and their o-line was making holes that looked like oregon when we played. The runningback was easily running through. They run the pistol but they pass just as much. I just worry that if we cant keep them short on first and 2nd we will be in for a long game. Why I think we'll win: I think our team realizes now more than ever we have to win. I think the taste of last years defeats will give us an edge the whole season. There seemed to be a confidence we had that elevates their talent. Terrence mitchell will be a hard guy to stop for even the best teams we play. I think our defensive front 7 will give our offense enough chances to score and create a turnover or two.

they had a few big drops or we would be complaining about those. All in all we cant really complain defense was swarming, need to tackle rather than throw their body at guy but not bad. We will truly be tested this weekend. Nevada's oline creates holes. If dont control the gaps and tackle were going to be in for a long day.

um even in the notre dame game we gave up like 400 or more passing yards..it was not a sign of good things to come by any means. quality win for sure but it basically laid the blueprint for the rest of the season on beating us.

haha im glad everyone is so hopeful. I see an offense that were going to struggle to stop. Bridgewater is very similar to our qb's in that he just never stops and is almost impossible to sack. He also has a rb which is dominant. The passing game is dynamic as well. Im hoping by this time we will have improved and be ready for this task.

pitt will still come down to the wire with usf..so say what you want...we cant beat them consistantly yet either.

win or not..we did not look impressive. We had impressive performances but we have a wayyyys to go. Need lots of improvement. BJ's run, and Mitchells ability stood out. Hope to see more of BJ as a runner to open up the pass game. It didnt matter if skip had the killer instinct. The guys didnt perform. We failed to move the ball, punted alot..we could have scored 3 more times easily. Looking forward to a tough game next week to see what we have.

sorry on topic..shaw is a game changer. He is a tough little guy with great speed.

I can no longer say we are just being vanilla against these opponents because year in and year out we dont see any scheme change. Our WR's run the worst routes in the country. We have failed to create plays that fool the defense and get them moving. We do not catch the ball with space to run. Most of our passes result in the wr getting drilled instantly. I sometimes wonder if people truly watch and see whats going on. On several plays bj dropped back and every receiver had his back to the qb running intermediate to deep routes. One in particular was third and short. How about moving guys, putting them in motion, underneath routes, drags, slants, backs out of the backfield, tight ends right up the middle. This is big time college football and I truly feel we do not get the most out of our passing game. It isnt bj's fault. Far worse qb's even ones that face our defense pass better because of schemes. It comes down to the offensive coordinator. We have yet to see the improvement. Im hoping it comes because with these weapons at wr id hate to see it wasted.

it seems that the defense strength is stopping the run. Whenever they did go to pass they virtually had every thing they wanted which is scary. A few catches and maybe one ball doesnt get overthrown and they score a td. They clearly dropped 4 or 5 easy passes which would of had plenty of space to run after the catch. Our pass defense has not improved until we see it next week. We will truly be tested.

i dont care if we run more with daniels...he is a runner...we need to utalize this more..and that will open up our generic passing game.

a whole offseason under the same coordinator and our offense is identically the same. This year we have mitchell which helps alot but there is no change is scheme or design. we will not beat the better teams on our schedule.

this is sad.

lack of plays designed to beat defenses...poor wr routes and it boils down to the plays..why cant we run plays that fool defenses...like i said..comebacks and broken deep passes are the mainstays in usf offense..
